Keegan Hipgrave is a retired rugby league player who played in the National Rugby League (NRL) for the past 7 years. He had the best time in his career but unfortunately, the three big concussions that he had led him to where he is now. After discussions with neurologists and his family, he decided to retire from the NRL. Playing rugby was his passion, but he also considered his priorities. He wants to have meaningful work and relationships to become a good partner, good son and a good dad someday. So continuing to play rugby league is going to detriment his values and what he wants to do.

Now, he’s pursuing his passion by talking to sports experts regarding athlete’s mental health in his podcast. He is also an athlete manager and brand ambassador. Exploring the emotional rollercoaster and identity crisis that can arise after leaving a professional sports career, Keegan offers insights into finding new purpose and fulfillment in life. Travis is a true warrior and one of my closest friends. He did an episode with us when we kicked off this thing way way back. Let me tell you, what a journey it's been since then. The first time he came on the podcast his nose was fucked up.

In this interview, you'll witness the ups and downs of his journey, including a massive fall while at the top of his game. His unbreakable spirit and determination to overcome the emotional turmoil that comes with it is incredible!

However, since filming this episode, he received some heartbreaking news. Due to his pain management using a banned substance and doctor's advice concerning his neck and brain swelling, they informed him that he won't be able to ride again. But despite this setback, I've spoken to Travis and he's still determined to push forward towards his dreams.

Trav's determination and focus on his goals have paid off in a big way, with his victory as king of the coast in the Gold Coast jockey premiership (as of this recording). Despite a mid-season injury that left him struggling to breathe through his nose, he kept his sights set on the prize while skillfully flying under the radar.

As a proud Queenslander, his next challenge will be keeping his status as king of the coast, knowing that he has a target on his back in the upcoming seasons. Additionally, being part of a racing family, he took a different path to finding his own passions outside of the sport when he was growing up. Whether he's hitting the BMX track or speedway racing, his energy and adventurous spirit are evident.

His journey into the world of horse racing began with a lazy and confident moment as a teenager. Despite growing up resenting the sport and the animals, he found himself falling in love with both.

What struck me most about Trav was not his natural ability or talent, but his willingness to learn from as many people as possible. His competitive nature and his thirst for knowledge led him all over the racing world, constantly seeking out new experiences and taking lessons from anyone willing to teach him.

Watching his journey has taught me that the best way to create your own style is to constantly seek out new perspectives and draw from as many sources as possible. Trav's story reminds us that it's never too late to fall in love with something new and that hard work, dedication, and a thirst for knowledge are the keys to success in any field.

Adversity causes some men to break; others to break records.

Matty is a true inspiration who has defied the odds and accomplished feats that seemed impossible. At the age of 22, he was involved in an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. However, instead of giving up on life, he pursued his dreams with passion and dedication.

He is now a Gold Medalist and Co-Captain of the Australian Invictus Team, recently qualified for the Ironman World Championships. This is a remarkable achievement considering that there are only four hand cycle spots available worldwide. The race includes a grueling 3.8km swim, 180km hand cycle through the city of Kona and lava fields, and a 42.2km racing wheelchair run.

His tenacity and determination are truly incredible. He pushes the boundaries of what a paraplegic can achieve by participating in activities like jet skiing, surfing, and even freestyle motocross, making him the first paraplegic in the world to hit a freestyle motocross ramp!
