My name is Zach Thomas and

I have 10 employees in my wedding business. We are also the largest wedding

company in the state and were planning on 350 weddings this year and 500 in

2021. Suffice to say, I am fed up with having to tell brides that I don't have

a plan, a solution. Nor am I able to console them in any way. I can't tell my

employees that it will be OK, when I have missed multiple paychecks myself

because we have already had 4 months of revenue taken away from us. We were up

37% year over year in February.

1 in 5 of my brides are anti-depressants

because the life we have all been told to create does not make us happy.

Parents, teachers, religious leaders, news outlets and politicians either lied

to us or placed so much distrust in them that we will never trust any of you

again. All of us have felt the culture shift this last decade. Let's mix that

with a pandemic, look at history, and take real inventory of our fragile

predicament.

I chose the name Apogee

when I started us as a DJ company 14 years ago because the meaning of the word

resonated with me as a person. Apogee is the highest point in the development

of something. Apex, zenith, pinnacle, paramount. I have always had a desire to

be the best. I have always wanted to be the best because I have never felt like

I was good enough and I had something to prove to someone else. I did this in

many areas, and most of all I did it in weddings.

Now, I am calling on all

medical professionals, educators, politicians, lawyers, doctors, high school

drop outs, business owners, felons, and everyone else who feels their voice is

not heard to make it known. It is time for us to unite our minds and create a

plan of action which discusses all problems we are facing as a people.

Since I am not afraid of

being wrong, and don't give a shit if I am right, or if you don't like a noise

that my mouth makes. What I care about is doing what is right. To me, doing

what is right means providing for the ones I love and that is something I will

do and will sacrifice every fiber of my being for.

Should someone have told

me 7 months ago that I would become single, open my dream business, move my mom

into my house, become unemployed, revise my business vision, get TikTok famous,

and have to write a pandemic plan to the governor while and be sincerely asked

to run for office I would have laughed my ass off. Yet, life happens and we do

what we must.

Making a plan is the right

thing to do. If I am wrong and my plan is wrong or a better plan emerges, I am

fine to admit it and seek a better solution. I am not a cry baby who is

attached to my feelings and insecure about being wrong. I care about action,

and a leader needs to act. I do not identify with any political party and have

been unsuccessful in finding one that which fits my point of view. My point of

view is quite simple. I want the bull shit and incompetence to stop.

Unlike our elected

leaders, I understand introspection and course correction. I understand not

knowing what to do. That's how business works. We look at what people need and

if we have a good answer to what they need, we can make money and feed our

family. To me, that is a successful business. I understand how important

relationships are. I know what humans can do. Both the bad, and the good. We

must choose to create the good.

Apogee does not just mean

that we are the best. It means that we do the best to be our best even when we

don't want to. It's my responsibility and my honor to take up this cause. I

don't want to, and I must because I am capable and what we are receiving is not

acceptable. Also, I am not sure if I have a job anymore so what else should I

be doing?

We will get what we are

getting until we choose something different. I am choosing something else for

my staff, my clients, and the rest of my fellow business owners and industry

peers. I don't expect you to all agree with me. Know that if you do and you

come at me with a plan I will listen to. I will not however listen to your

feelings. Because I know humans are inherently selfish and power hungry. I also

know how much humans can love because it's what I do for a living. I always see

the best and believe we are capable of so much more.

I am fearful if I do not

stand up and publicly submit my survival plan I will lose my business. When I

lose my business, my friends who work with me also lose. My kids lose, and so

do their children. I will not accept this fate. I cannot fight the biological

urge to take care of my family. Neither can other men and history has

demonstrated that. This a reason war exists. This is also why love exists. I

love what I do. I love my freedom, I love my liberty, I love my clients and

most of all I love my family. Least of all, I love myself and my ego. These are

the reason I feel compelled to take action. I also know that being afraid is

not a reason to not act. Now is the time to act and to fight and we must

immediately start fighting for a peaceful end to this because I know too much

about history and our current rift.

I want a peaceful

resolution for my family, livelihood, friends, and competent leadership. Our

leaders must know that we are united and that we are tired of their lack of

leadership. Any private business would have fired Kate Brown. If not, they

would have been fortunate enough to survive her rule making abilities. I have

heard the booing at rallies, especially in Portland. Oregon is not happy.

The governor's current

plan is to wait two more weeks before developing a plan. Not until May 4th.

Unacceptable and unforgivable. Two months into a pandemic is too late to

develop a plan. It does not take that long unless you are unqualified for your

job. Lack of accountability, transparency, and distrust is at its boiling

point. And I know this because I understand history, patters, and have had to

win the situation my entire life without having all of the information. I will

be telling more on the story of me on my podcast Apogee APE.

I am competitive because I

am insecure. I have a terrible case of Impostor Syndrome and overcompensate by

tackling huge projects other people are too afraid to attempt. So here is my

plan. These are numbers I know business people can work with. I believe we

should all take self responsibility with this plan. Wear masks, minimize

contact, don't go where you don't need to, and take your life back:

Apogee Events will be doing:

May 16th 50 people. Since

I had to cancel the first event at our new venue this day. I am selling 1000

masks at $17. Yes, they are cheaper elsewhere and I don't care. It's for kids

who are struggling more than you. You can wash them and use them again and we

will have the best party possible for them.

May 26^th, I turn 35 years old and I

want to sell 100 tickets to my birthday party at Salem's new and very much

unfurnished and unfinished new event venue APOGEE. Tickets to the most bad-ass

party you can attend after being in your house for months will be expensive.

They are $250/each or a pair for $400. They're a lot and you will also get into

my 4th of July party with a purchase.

June 1^st Free wedding for someone with 45 guests. We will show how clean

weddings should happen and champion our all-inclusive boutique model we have

been working on for 14 years.

As bad as this pandemic

is, it fits very well with our long-term business model and I believe we have the

best solution for saving money in a hard time and innovating our way out of

this. I will ask the wedding communities help in this and for a $10,000

donation to help them with their bills and sacrifice. of time

July 4^th, I want to host a party

for 250 people and am seeking a corporate sponsorship of $50,000. This will be

a 3-year sponsorship for the outdoor portion of our venue and provide the

resource we need to put on such a huge event.

Since I am not too proud

to ask for help, I am asking for a donation of $25,000 so I can host all of the

Salem school proms. They lost out too and it isn't fair to them. I do not have

a date for this yet.

And because I feel that my

employees are competent to run my business for $150,000, I will seek Kate Brown

resigns for her terrible leadership. I will find a peaceful resolution to our

predicament. This will allow me the breathing room to put people in place and

begin a peaceful resolution for our state. If after that you want me to run for

governor, I'll give it a shot. Why not? I'm not qualified for my current job

either, but I am more capable and competent than what we have.

$500,000 I will turn our

venue into a film studio and create a YouTube and Netflix reality show about

weddings and event productions. We will aggressively pursue the media division

in our company and attach your name or brand to our venue.

Since we are on the

subject of wild ideas here is another one. For 1.5 million I will develop an

app which harnesses the service industry like retail has harnessed items. The

future is very clear on where and how this needs to go and the only issue I

face is the impossible amount of money.

This is my plan. My plan

is not above reproach and my plan involves adjusting as we go along as we

continue to learn together. My plan involves complete transparency. So we can

have complete trust and continue to to thrive.

This country does not need

more tension. We need less. We need love. We need our relationships. Our jobs,

outdoors, sunlight, nutrition, medicine, exercise, disciplines, spirituality, a

sense of purpose and more than ever we need peaceful psychological resolution.

If we do not we are headed for a revolution and this is not a cause I will

support.

I do not ask for an

endorsement of my plan as much as I do an endorsement for your support to end

this madness.

it is in our voices and actions. We can choose to learn how to feed, house, and

provide medicine to one another. We can choose war and we can choose peace. We

can choose action or in action. We can choose what we are receiving, and we can

choose what we receive for us, and our children. We can be free because we are

Americans and we have the power of choice in our freedoms.

Let's also choose to throw

a mis-managed old system and decades of broken policy out. We can reform

education with technology and now is the perfect time to rethink everything we

are doing.

We have the resources to

provide everything for everyone on this planet. We can choose to have that

world too. We can choose self preservation or we can choose us all. I choose us

all.

Our peaceful voices are

power when they are properly heard. I believe Oregonians have had enough and

this will send a unified message. That message will be that we need a peaceful

change. I have had enough with the groups on the left and the right and want us

to finally join as one true family. Enough nonsense.
