Just days after being reinstated by the NFL, troubled Seahawks receiver Josh Gordon was once again suspended indefinitely by the league for failing to satisfy the terms of his conditional reinstatement. This is the 6th suspension for Gordon in 9 years. Should the league try one more time, or cut ties with him for good?

It was an eventful Wild Card weekend in the NFL to say the least. It's the first year of the leagues new 14 playoff team format, and it didn't disappoint. We go over the scores and stories from round 1 of the playoffs.

With the 2020 World Series in the rear view mirror, MLB recently announced the major awards for both the AL and NL. We'll take a few minutes to go over them and give you our thoughts.

The NFL has made an effort in recent years to try and increase diversity within its ranks. While that is obviously a great idea, we believe that the leagues latest effort may actually do more harm than good.

Kyler Murray continues to amaze just about every week. The Arizona Cardinals second year QB seems to be getting better every game, and still has room to grow. Which raises the question, just how good can he become?

Saints QB Drew Brees suffered a fairly significant injury this past Sunday, but appears to have been lucky with it not being worse than it is. We discuss how the team will fair while the future Hall of Famer is sidelined, and why Ben appears to dislike a certain Saint so much.

Just hours after we recorded last weeks episode and predicted a Rays victory, the Dodgers made us look stupid and closed out the World Series in six games. We break down a pivotal decision by Rays manager Kevin Cash that may have made that victory a whole lot easier for LA.

As is usually the case, the NFL trade deadline came and went with little activity. The hopes that this year might be different due to usual circumstances didn't materialize and only a few, role player level talents were moved. We discuss the two biggest rumored moves that didn't take place, and how the teams involved might be affected by not pulling the trigger.

The Patriots and 49ers, one team seems like they are in the middle of a rebuild, the other looks to be headed for one. But we explain why when a team is managed well, a rebuild doesn't have to mean years of mediocrity.

Episode 91: Ravens cut Earl Thomas, Excessive injuries in Tampa Bay, more problems with "The Process"

Just one season after signing a big free agent deal with the Baltimore Ravens, safety Ear Thomas was released on Monday. This comes shortly after he had an altercation with a team mate at practice and was sent home. It seems very unlikely that the Ravens chose to move on just because of this one incident. We discuss what else may have happened to lead to Earls early departure.

While the Tampa Bay rays are one of the best examples of how small market teams can be competitive with minimal resources, they have suffered an unusually high number of injuries to their pitching staff. This may just be bad luck, but we believe there is a far more manageable reason for the misfortune.

And after another disappointing end to a season, the Philadelphia 76ers "Process" seems more broken than ever, and in desperate need for an overhaul.

Episode 86: NBA doing things right, New MLB rules, NFL camps open

In a bit of positive news the NBA tested 343 players on July 29th as part of their procedures inside the NBA bubble in Orlando. Not a single player tested positive for Covid 19.

In the wake of both the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals needing to postpone games due to high infection numbers among the teams. The MLB and MLBPA agreed to new, more strict guidelines. This is great, but about 3 months later tan it needed to be. We give credit for "better late than never", but not a lot.

And with NFL camps opening up this week the league released the results of the first round of covid testing from training camps. In total 56 players or roughly 2% tested positive and will be required to isolate for several days and then pass multiple tests in order to return to the team. The NFL is being very transparent with their efforts to keep any potential contamination contained. But can that actually extend to the field on gameday?

On Monday the XFL was purchased by a new ownership team fronted by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The league that was once in danger of once again fading away completely has now found new life. We have no idea what is in store for the next version of the XFL, but we know we are intrigued.

In a strange story Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes no showed Sundays game and was apparently unreachable for some time. It wasn't until the Mets sent security to the team hotel to Check on him did they realize he had left and later had his agent inform the team that he has opted out of the remainder of the MLB season. What were his reason? We discuss.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced Monday that 13 members of there organization have tested positive for Covid 19 and they expect that number to grow in the coming days. We will once again explain why baseball just cant seem to get it right.

After refusing to punish the Astros in any tangible way, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred has made it very clear that anyone doing what he should have done will be punished. We explain.

And veteran running back LeSean McCoy has joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the upcoming season. But how much can we really expect from him?

After months of waiting 2 exciting things happened on Thursday. The first is that our website, BCTSPOD.com is finally up and running. And the second of course is MLB Opening Day 2020.

Despite not signing a long term deal with the Red Sox before he was traded, insisting he wanted to test free agency. Mookie Betts signed an extension with the Dodgers on Wednesday for just about the same amount Boston offered him. We have an issue with this, but not for the reason you think.

After the Toronto Blue Jays were told Monday they wouldn't be allowed to play in Canada, it appeared the Pittsburgh Pirates and PNC Park had come to the rescue......Until Pennsylvania also denied the team. Now with the season already started, the Blue Jays have to find a home for 2020, and fast.

While all but one agreed and signed to play 2020 under the franchise tag. Who was this player who has yet to sign? Find out. And with the shortened 2020 MLB season set to kick off Thursday it appears that Canada has told the Toronto Blue Jays they won't be permitted to play in the country. Episode 74: Jamal Adams a future Dallas Cowboy? Baseball still bickering, Financial impact for future MLB free agents

There appears to be mutual interest between the Dallas Cowboys and Jets safety Jamal Adams. Adams has stated the Cowboys are one of the teams he would like to be playing for this upcoming season assuming the Jets and Cowboys can work out a trade. The bigger problem for Dallas however is the salary cap. How can they afford a contract extension should a deal get done? MLB has mandated a 60 game season and the players have been given a deadline to review and agree to the details. One may think this means baseball returning is imminent, however that is far from a guarantee, we explain why. Much like the NFL, future MLB free agents may find themselves getting lesser contracts than they initially thought. This is of course do to lack of revenue during the pandemic. We review some of the bigger names and discuss how some of them may regret not signing a bigger deal when they could have.

It would appear that in the last few weeks the NFL has done a complete 180 on their stance toward Colin Kaepernick. And finally the Yankees were very outspoken when allegations of sign stealing emerged involving the Astros and later the Red Sox. Deion Sanders has been working out with Antonio Brown to help him with an attempted comeback, and it may just be the perfect pairing to help AB get to where he needs to be. The MLBPA and the MLB owners have exchanged plans to get MLB restarted sometime soon. Despite frequent discussion among the two sides it doesn't seem as if we are any closer to getting baseball back in 2020 than we were a few months ago. The NBA however, appears to finalizing details for a return. But not everyone within the league is pleased the plan.

With the 2019 NFL season in the rear view mirror, we each give our list of 5 second year players who could make a serious impact on the upcoming season. The Chiefs have stated that Patrick Mahomes impending contract extension will be "unlike any other". Is it wise to announce that instead of playing their hand a little closer to the vest. Jadeveon Clowney is still looking for a place to play next season, although that appears to be by his own doing. The Jets, as only the Jets can do, are somehow alienating on of the leagues top players in Jamal Adams. Adams has repeatedly stated his desire to stay in New York, however the Jets appear to be nickel and diming him on an extension, while they prioritize lesser talent. And finally with the ongoing saga of the MLB restart, it now appears that outside influences are trying to sneak their way Into the negotiations.

In a move that surprised no one, MLB owners and players can't get even close to the same page as far as what it will take to get the season started anytime soon, if at all in 2020. The NFL has proposed changes to the Onside Kick procedure and the Rooney Rule. We'll break down and rules and what we do, and don't like about the potential changes. Troubled wide receiver Josh Gordon has once again asked the league for reinstatement, and we hope he doesn't get it. But not for the reasons you may think. And finally Alex Bregman of the Astros has left his agent. An agent who has ties to Lebron James who will be making the Astros scandal documentary. This could be a coincident, but we don't think so.

Aaron Rodgers seems realistic about the likelihood he will finish his career with the Green Bay Packers. While he does have 4 years remaining on his current contract it is unlikely he will remain with the Packers for all of them. What are some possible landing spots if indeed he does move on in the next few seasons. Future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols seems to feel that teammate Mike Trout is the Michael Jordan of Baseball. The Atlanta Falcons allegedly have no idea what the health status of their new running back Todd Gurley is. Despite all the technology they can imagine at their disposal they are claiming they have no way to find out. Someone tell them about FaceTime please. In defense of MLB we will have our first ever Sport Court where Chris will play the part of the defense and explain to Ben why he is so very wrong about Baseball being dead. And finally with every other sports franchise trying to figure out how they can possibly pay their employees, despite having hundreds of millions of dollars at their disposal, only the Green Bay Packers had the foresight to set up what is essentially a rainy day fund to insure that they could maintain basic operations during the unforeseen. We Discuss why more teams need to take a page out of the Packers playbook.

The NHL and NBA have been shut down for about 2 months and neither of those leagues are any closer to knowing how to advance than the day they shut down. We weigh the possibility that the best move for both may be to call this season a loss and prepare for 2021. MLB is set to present the plan to restart the League to the players union on Tuesday, but there are several items rumored to be in the plan that will present a problem for the players. But we believe there is a major missed opportunity here, and look to the NFL's remote draft as a possible solution for MLB's decision. With all the movement on NFL rosters over the past 6 weeks there are many teams that look far different than they did last season. We reveal which teams we feel nailed the offseason, and which ones will have to try again next year. And finally in an unsurprising move the Bengals have relaased former starting QB Andy Dalton. The problem with that is the league is about as strong as it has ever been at the QB position, so options on where to play may be very limited.
