When doing so, for some, that means coming to terms with things like speech impediments. For others, it may be that their voice doesn't live in a register that they want it to. But for some, that journey goes much farther, and much deeper than merely "what I sound like," and goes all the way down to "who I truly am."

Bernadette "Bernie" Wagenblast is an iconic voice to millions of people, even though they might not know it, or her. For decades—and to this day—Bernie's voice guides countless travelers, commuters, and passengers through the maze that is mass transit in New York City and other areas of the Tri-State area with a calm and friendly tone that says "You're welcome here."
