Alrighty. Good morning, everyone.
Welcome to our Sunday school lesson today. And today we are going to be in. Sorry, putting my notifications down or turning off my notifications.
We are in session 11, almost done with this season already. Let's see here.
Sorry for the, Sorry for the late start. We, I think I have a solution for that, but I think it's everybody connecting at the top of the hour. So everybody's trying to go live at the same time. I think that may be what it is. I'm not sure, but, I always try to get it started at five minutes ahead of time, but everybody's already streaming by then.
I don't know if it's some kind of scheduling thing or whatever, but we'll get it figured out to where we can, get started, right at 10, at least LA way in session 11, Isaiah chapter 53. we're gonna read verses, we're gonna read through verses one and 12 one through 12. but the title of today's lesson is God justifies.
And before we really jump into that, let's think about the current sport that everybody is in. it's funny because with pandemic and everything, The current or the transition into the sports is already happening, even though we just got done with one sport, and talking about basketball, It was a few weeks ago. yeah, it was a few weeks ago that we, finished up that season. But then now we're already starting into that season because again, pandemic it delayed it that long. And then football kind of had a late start. and I'm pretty sure they're probably going to have to like, not have their, usual things go on.
Not only because they're not making enough revenue, but because it's just that time of pandemic things are starting to ramp up. things are starting to get worse and a lot of these things, but they get about football. They get about the sport. That we're the season that we're currently in.
And usually in, we see sometimes a penalty flag. the referees will throw out a penalty flag and now they got different colors. It used to be just yellow. and then like bean bags or something like that, different color bean bags for like fumbles or interceptions or whatever. But now they have a pink one.
They have a red one for the coaches, but when you see that yellow flag, that it means there's a penalty. that the player that was, that just occurred probably got wiped clean. With the boys this season, there was a penalty where it erased a 74 or 75 yard touchdown run. I just wiped it because, there was a penalty that the referee called a foul saying that there was an illegal move.
When a player breaks the rules, the referee throws a penalty flag on the turf, holding pass interference and unsportsmanlike conduct, or a few examples of penalty causing infractions. A penalty usually means they lost our gain of yardage in one direction or the other. And that's the point, right?
By paying the penalty of sin through his sacrifice, the Lords serve it atone for the sin of all humanity for all. Time, they see there is penalty flags. There's probably penalty flies that you can think of here recently being thrown at you left and right. Because, the things that you were doing or the things that was going on around you in the best way, the best for you.
And so you see where. God is intervening and the, the fly gets thrown and you have to either move back or maybe sometimes the stuff was against you and you get to move forward. in the first few verses here, we're going to see that, well, Christ isn't specifically named. the author says that the theologians let's see here, we're talking about the wiping away of those penalties. the, it's called a tone mint, but like making a way for those penalties not to be enforced. See if we had that, opportunity right there to challenge that penalty right there in that little league game that we probably could've made a case to say, Hey, that wasn't really, Oh, that wasn't really is what has happened, but you can't argue with the referees.

Book of Isaiah Chapter 53 Verses 1 through 12

Alrighty. See if we had that, opportunity right there to challenge that penalty right there in that little league game that we probably could've made a case to say, Hey, that wasn't really, Oh, that wasn't really is what has happened, but you can't argue with the referees.

You can't argue with the officials, you can't argue with the law enforcement people, the judges and whatnot. They give you a play time and a place to do that. But right then and there, they got to enforce the law. Referees got to enforce the rules of the game. Otherwise it's just chaos. Same way. The God will intervene on your behalf.

And he sent the Lord Jesus Christ to say, you know what? We don't care what happened. We're going to take that upon us. Jesus said that I'm going to pay for their sin so that they don't have to worry about that. They don't have to get penalized. And that's what he's talking about.

what was the ultimate cause of the atonement? It's a result of God's love and justice. Although the appropriate penalty for sin is death. God designed a plan to reconcile our relationship with him through the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus's death. On the cross Christ bore our sin God's judgment and willingly sacrificed his life.

He paid our penalty as a result, the lives of those who choose to accept him are eternally altered. And so let's go ahead and. Get to our Bible here.

Isaiah, remember Isaiah chapter 53,

the two. And we're reading the first few verses here to say, who has believed what we have heard and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before him, like a young plant and like the, like a re out of a dry out of dry ground. He didn't have an impressive form or majesty that we should look at him, no appearance that we should desire him.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like, someone people turned away from he was despised and we didn't value him yet. He bought him South. Yeah, he himself bore our sickness sicknesses and he carried our pains, but in turn, regarded him stricken, but we in turn regarded him, stricken, struck down by God and afflicted.

So again, what a lot of the studies, what the author is saying here in this part, we're referencing Christ's life and we're referencing, A prophecy beforehand, because Isaiah was written in the old times, the new tire, the new Testament was, after or during when Christ was here. And so what a lot of people see this, these verses are, is that time coming.

And again, the point is that God has given us a promise. He's told us about another time ahead of us, that we should look forward to his return. there's a good question here that it says, how does knowing the seven faced, how does this, how does knowing the servant face being despised and rejected comfort us and that it might give us a little bit of uneasiness, really looking at this.

again, it says. Verse three. It says he was despised and rejected by men. A man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone, he was like someone, people, someone, he was like, someone people turned away from, he was despised that we didn't value him. How can we take comfort in that? That's really painting a stark picture.

A really big contrast between somebody that we like it in Maya to somebody that. we don't really care for it, but we can put us put ourselves in that place. Maybe sometimes we can maybe think about how we are rejected. Sometimes we are faced with certain deals that go on that don't favor us. God knows. Jesus knows he can relate to us. He's the only one that can relate to us, because again, if there was anybody else that, faced as much persecution as Lord Jesus Christ, it was him as any of us.

What we go through every day is nothing compared to what he took on himself as a servant to us as somebody who wanted better for us. He took that on so that we didn't have to pay that penalty. So they infraction laid before us was taken away from us and said, Nope, go ahead. Keep playing the game.

We've got the verses for, yeah, it's continued reading. We'll pick back up in five says, but he was pierced because of our rebellion crushed because of our inequities punishment for our peace was on him. And we are here by his wounds. We all went straight like sheep. We all went and straight like sheep. We have all turned to our own way and the Lord has punished him for the iniquity of us.

Oh, for what reasons or purpose did the servant suffer in a surfer serving bore? The punishment for our sin, that all people deserve. Humanity gains peace, as well as spiritual restoration and reconciliation with God through duty, the servant suffering and see this had to come to pass for us to experience what we have now and even in the future.

And for all the ones that had. Ben put to rest Ben put through the ringer, so to speak in the time that this was going on or this, the time that this was being said, but Jesus paid for those as well. And the amount of suffering had to be like that. It had to come to that so that it could be completed just as God had laid it out.

Like one day sheep, all people have strayed and sinned against God. And that comes from Romans three 23, a very, strong verse when it comes to people talking about what we have done and what we, what we are all guilty of. I told him if we're saying is only available through the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ his death on the cross.

The only way that we get to where we're going is through the cross, through the blood. Okay. Reading on, we're gonna read the rest of this real quick. He was oppressed in a flake they'd yet he did not open his mouth. Yeah. Take that and mulling over in your mind. He was given all this stuff, but the only time he didn't even question.

It wasn't even a complaint, but the only time that he had, talked back, the only time that he responded in a way that was not God-like or Christ-like was when he was praying. And it wasn't a prayer, a rebellion or anything like that, it was a prayer for an escape. Which we all go to God for an escape.

We all, we should, anyways, we should all turn to him when we need, something done for us that we don't necessarily feel like we can, we're capable of. We go to him, that's what Jesus was doing. in the garden. He was praying to God that there'd be another way, but not for his sake. but for God's will, and there wasn't a prayed, He got comforted.

There was some, there was a messenger sent to him that said, we're going to restore, we're going to give you a little bit of strength and you gotta do this. you gotta carry on. And that is where, this there's this little verse that it's not even the whole versus just the slow part.

It says he was oppressed and afflicted yet he did not open his mouth. He didn't say anything. He didn't act out any kind of way. He knew it was upon him and he took it any completed it. Get off there. Okay. Like a lamb led to the slaughter and like a sheep silent before his shoes. He did not open his mouth.

He was taken away because of oppression and judgment and who considered his fate for, he was cut off from the land of the living. He was struck because of my people's rebellion. He was assigned a grave with the wicked, but he was with a rich man at his death because he had done no violence and had not spoken.

Deceitfully he knew what he was up against. Yeah. He didn't. he, we didn't talk about that's the best way I can describe it is he didn't have any, hard feelings about it. he knew what was ahead of him. He knew that he needed strength. He knew that, he couldn't do it alone. That's why he went to God.

That's why he went to his father. I asked for help back. He didn't lash out. And we really need to think about that part. We as people right now, we got chaos going on, riots, all these things going on because we don't agree with what the current atmosphere says. we think that we are entitled to things.

Sometimes that's not the case and that this is a good example here. Christ's wet. And did what he had to do without rebellion.

Verse 10 says that the Lord was pleased to crush him severely. When you make him a guilt offering, he will see his seed. He will prolong his days. And by his hand, the Lord's pleasure will be accomplished after his anguish. He will see light and be satisfied by his knowledge. My righteous servant will justify many.

And he will carry their inequities in verse 12. Therefore I will give him the mini as a portion and he will receive the mighty as spoiled because he really leads, submitted to death and was counted among the rebels. Yet he bore the sin of many and interceded for the rebels. He bore our sin. It was, was put to death, to atone for the penalty that we were.

We were flagged for, there was a flag out there. Somebody had to pay for it. when it's a team sport, usually the penalty has assessed against the team, but the real penalty next day at practice, or the next week at practice that will be enforced because they're letting down their team.

that doesn't, that's not the case here. And that's what, the author is trying to tell us about is that this whole chapter is about a prophecy about somebody who was sent to die for us ahead of time. But now we can realize that this is true.

When Phillip, and this is a, we wrap up on this point. It says when Philip found the Ethiopian official, the official was trying to determine the identity of the servant found in Isaiah 53, verses seven and eight, the official fill Philip. If Isaiah was talking about himself or someone else. Through history, some believed his prophecy to be about the Messiah.

Others believe this to be about the nation Israel, Jesus, and the new Testament writers left little doubt as to who the suffering servant was. It was prophecy. It was told before it was all planned out. And it was wrote about before Christ came. After Jesus ate the Passover meal with his disciples. Jesus told them that Isaiah's prophecy of the servant being numbered with the transgressors was about to be fulfilled in quoting Isaiah 53 12, but we just read Jesus specifically identified himself as the one being referenced by Isaiah summer 700 years prior to Jesus.

Jesus is first coming within hours. Jesus would be hanging on a cross between two thieves, fulfilling the rest of the prophecy in Isaiah 53. And again, we'll read it again. It says, therefore I would give him the many as a portion and he will receive the mighty as spoiled because he really only submitted to death and was counted among the rebels.

Yet he bore the sin of many and interceded for the rebels.

That is a really good verse right there. And I, it's it's weird the way they title is and talk about, different things that on the Bible study or whatnot, but you see here, the title is appropriate. They see God justified his people, his creations, you and I. Through this act of, sacrifice Jesus Christ.

See, he justified us through that sacrifice because there had to be a perfect one to be able to pay for all this. Somebody who lived perfectly. And that was Jesus Christ. He was telling about it beforehand in Isaiah chapter 53. See, God's going to justify us. He did. And that's, we can all take a good.

What do you call it? we can all take comfort in that, or we talked about last week, comforting us. We can all take comfort that Jesus was set for a mission to a tone for our sentence to wave that penalty flag off. we're going to be live here in about 30 minutes. Hopefully everything goes okay with the software. We'll get live.

We'll get started beforehand. w want to invite you to join us and we will be back here shortly. So God bless.

Okay.

https://cushing-sunday-school.captivate.fm

<itunes:image href="https://artwork.captivate.fm/629f7988-52b1-4028-a920-3e81e391acbb/ClNGoTe4H6Oyvf4Vq_IckyYp.jpg"/>
Arthur L. I just want to welcome you to our Sunday school. All right. We're going to be in chapter 49 of the book of Isaiah today. So make sure you guys get your books or the study guide if you guys were, um, are following along in that the personal study guide is available on our church, Facebook group.
Page. Um, and you can go and download that and follow along and we're session we're in session 10 today. So if you guys will get your Bibles or your study guides and flip on over to there, the title today is God comforts. And man, do we need some comforting today talking about all the stuff that is going on today?
All the. I wouldn't call it craziness, just a complexities of everything. One of the things that I did not get to do yesterday, one of the things that I did not get to do yesterday was listened to, um, the assumed has it been confirmed, confirmed, but the assumed president elect, but I heard that he had some good words to say, and maybe I don't think that a lot of people are going to really hear him out.
Right now, but, um, one of the things that I had heard him talk about, well, not, I heard him talk about, but one of the things that I know that he mentioned was healing our country and in today's Bible study, the, one of the, one of the, um, illustrations that the author is trying to use is a bandaid. Now we all know what bandaids are for right.
Little minor cuts, scrapes or bruises. Oh, no, no, not so much a bruise. Maybe like to let you know that it's still there. Maybe. I don't know, but minor cuts and scrapes. Right? You might put a bandaid on it. Think about when you was younger and how much comfort that bandaid provided that assurance. And see if you can go back in November, remember?
Yeah. You, you, all you really wanted was that bandaid, all you really wanted was that, that, that, uh, so to speak that little, um, item that. Covered your wound, right? It wasn't so much that you knew that you needed stitches or, you know, you had a really bad injury and all you was looking for was that healing to start to take place that, that removal of baby, that pain, right?
Um, no matter how big or small applying that bandage seemed to make it better. And sometimes we even wanted our mom just to acknowledge that we were hurt and, you know, to do their little things. Some of them may have been kissy or someone may have been Patty. So some. Someone may have just reminded us, Hey, you're older than making a big deal about that.
Go on and play. And you know, not using those kinds of words, but we get the point, right? Snap out of it. Go on. You get on in Isaiah, we see God comforting his people. It says after this is the writer speaker, he says after decades of Babylonian, captivity and exalt from their land, God promised to rescue the remnant nation.
Redemption is both. Immediate and in forthcoming than forthcoming, the nation would return to their land and have it restored most significantly. The servant of the Lord would bring the message of salvation to the world. And we see that even in today, we see the comforting that the Bible can, can provide us.
In that there is a better time ahead. There's going to be turmoil. There's going to be things going on. There's going to be a complex world that we live in today, but knowing God will complete what he said, that he's going to do complete, bring, bring to, to realization the promise that he's given us. We can take a little bit of comfort in that.
Jesus is the ideal servant and ultimate fulfillment of God's promise as the servant Messiah. He's the light of the world. Offering salvation to the ends of the earth and the one to whom one day, every knee will bow. And I really liked that verse out of Romans 14. My phone will not unlock code on, so I want to read that real quick.
Um, moving through Romans, um, you can see that was our study during the springtime, moving through Romans, you seen that there was like three separate sections in Romans and...

Good morning, everyone. Offering salvation to the ends of the earth and the one to whom one day, every knee will bow. And I really liked that verse out of Romans 14. My phone will not unlock code on, so I want to read that real quick.

Um, moving through Romans, um, you can see that was our study during the springtime, moving through Romans, you seen that there was like three separate sections in Romans and that. Uh, verse our chapter 12 chapter 11 chapter 12 chart starts that transition into living a new life. And then 12 talks about, uh, re re renewing our mind.

13 is about how we were supposed to look at certain things of this world, but then 14, uh, really starts that, um, setting the standard, so to speak. And again, we were in Romans. So you guys should have your study guides and you can guys can go back and reflect, but it says, starting at verse nine of chapter 14, verse nine, Roman spice diet, and return to life for this, that he might be Lord over the dead, over both the dead and the living.

But you, why do you judge your brother or sister, or why do you despise your brother or sister for where we will stay at for where will we, we will. Yeah, before we will all stand before the judgment seat of God for it is written. As I live says, the Lord, every knee will bow to me and every tongue will give praise to God.

And we could see that in here. We're going to start reading. Uh, let's see, we'll start in verse one. Chapter 49 says coasts and islands lift. Listen to me, distant. People's pay attention to the Lord called me before I was born. He named me while I was in my mother's womb. He made my words like a sharp sword.

He hit me in the shadow of his hand. He made me like a shepherd or sharpened arrow. He hid me in his quiver. He said to me, you are my servant Israel in whom I will be glorified. But I myself said I have labored in vain. I have spent my strength for nothing and fertility futility yet my vindication is with the Lord and my reward is with my God.

Isaiah was declaring that the servant Israel was called to be God's spokesperson, um, before they were even thought of see when God created the world, right. He had a plan and he established that plan. Um, long before then we even can really think about it, right? We can even, uh, start to really wander a ponder about it.

And that's what Isaiah is talking about. The whole nation of Israel. See the nation of Israel was called to be his God's spokesperson to the rest of the world. And God made a point that Israel has a role in this. Um, sometimes we might be, we might hear that. Uh, sorry, my phone. I hope you guys probably didn't hear that.

Sometimes we're told that God has a plan. God has things set out in advance and all this type of stuff, but sometimes we really don't take it to heart because, um, we might not understand that we play a part. You see, when you go and if any of you guys have ever been in any type of production, I'm not talking about movie and film and a book or a music, um, a song or anything like that.

But any type of production to be able to get something done and event, so to speak. It's one thing to go and experience the event, go and see taking the sights and sounds of whatever they're doing, um, to display or perform, but it's a whole nother thing to actually be a part of it. You see? And that's what Isaiah was telling Israel is that God has a plan.

God has this huge plan. You play an important part, and he's speaking to his people. He's talking about how they play a critical role in all of this. I see once you understand that once you get that feeling for whatever, if you're, if you're the election, the election is a, is a big topic right now. But to really get that election done, you need people, you need things.

You need technology right here in our precinct, our voting priests. I don't know if it's like this across the state. I would assume it is because everything has to be the same, but they have these. Suitcases with these electronic devices in there. So when you Mark your ballot, you scan it in and tallies the results and keeps them safe and all that type of stuff.

Well, somebody had to play a, somebody had to play a role in that. Not only to get the equipment there and to get all this stuff, uh, needed to make that function and run, but to develop the technology, to develop, um, all the things that we would have to do to get that thing running right. That electricity has to be at that building, or it has to run on.

Battery power, whatever we see those people played an important role in getting that done. And that's what he's trying to tell Israel too, then was that you play an important role in this. You're supposed to be the spokesperson. The spokesperson is kind of like the representative to, to be an example, not only to talk and to.

Tell them, but also to show it, but we also have one individual, the person that was promised the, the ex the shining example of, of God's ultimate plan was to, uh, get rid of death, get rid of sin and to establish eternal life. And that was through Jesus Christ. Um, let's move on on this right here. Hold on.

My good grief. Sorry. My phone is like really small compared to my tablet, which is like huge. So bouncing between the two, I sometimes inadvertently open things I'm not supposed to, then I can't get back to my Bible app. There it is. And now. This is verse five. And now it says the Lord who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him so that Israel might be gathered to him for, I am honors in the side of the Lord and my God is my strength.

He says, it is not enough for you to be my servant, raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations to be my salvation, to the ends of the earth. This is what the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy one says. To the one who is despised to one of hoard by people to a servant of rulers, Kings will see princess will stand up and they will all bow down because of the Lord who is faithful, the Holy one of Israel.

And he has chosen you. Isaiah was explaining that the role of the servant was to lead a group of people back to God as a result, the restore people. Honor would honor. God would honor him. The servant would further be a light to all people extending God's salvation to the ends of the earth. Israel's difficult situation would give the people an opportunity to carry out God's purposes for them.

AC um, sometimes we're we're faced with the fact that we don't have like, uh, the most pleasant of times, right. Sometimes we're faced with. The realization that it's a tumultuous time, a troubled time, but there's a reason for that. And if you've been chosen by God, which we all have to be a leader to our congregations, our families, our communities, uh, we're, we're going through these things.

There's a reason because so that we can point people to the one who we're following, which is the Lord Jesus Christ and God. Um, Let's see, how does today's? This is a good question right here. How does today's believers mission compared to the mission of God compared to the mission God gave to Israel and this refers back to the calling and if there's any verse that's more, what do you call it pointed to about the mission of today's servants?

Today's Christians is Matthew 28 and we say 28, 20, but it's actually like three verses right there. And there's specific things that we have to do in there. But Jesus summarizes our instructions under his authority. Believers are to go throughout the world, making disciples. When you make disciples a true, a true leader, doesn't have to necessarily make anything.

They draw it out. They've. Formulate, they help coach. They help them mentor. They help establish what's already inside them that they helped realize their gift. Right. So making disciples doesn't mean, go beat them over the head with a Bible. It means to take an interest in what they're doing, help guide them along, teach them what they don't already know.

Right. And we all know how to, well, most of us make some babies, maybe watch it, but we all know how to count to 10. Right. We don't need to know how to count to 10. Um, you know, different ways. We all just need to know how to count to 10 and then we can move on from there. Well, there was a seven days in the creation there.

See, we don't have to, we don't have to go over the basics and we just move on and we enlightened. We, we help provide a different perspective cause we're all unique. Right? So making that disciples allows us to express our unique background, our unique situations and help enlighten. And that's what he's told us.

It's right there. He says, this is what the Lord of the Redeemer, the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy one says, I'm sorry. I was back up a little bit further. It says, um, it is not enough for you to be my servant, raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protective ones of Israel. I will also make you a light.

For the nations to be my salvation, to the ends of the earth. You see talking about going out and talking about that, the message doesn't stop here and the message doesn't stop in this one little broadcast, right? There's other live streams going on right now saying the same thing we are called to further.

God's kingdom, baptize new disciples in the name of the Holy Trinity and teach disciples to obey. God's word. You say we encounter people. We make make disciples. That's what's in the text, but it's like that word may get kind of complicated sometimes, but being a leader, being, being a leader by being a servant, serving the people, but then going through.

The laws going through the ordinances that he has prescribed to us. Right. But then to teach them God's law. And what is God's law? Sometimes this gets complicated. Was that the 10 commandments is that, is that the whole, uh, list of laws that Israel at this time was using? No, Jesus gave us new commandments.

He said, Love God and love your neighbor as you would yourself. That doesn't mean anything about us and that's God's law to show love, to show love. And what practical ways can we be light to? It would be a light to others. Evangelizing can occur at any time in any place. And with anyone, it isn't limited to missions across the globe opportunities to go exist near and far.

And, you know, It's really, really crazy to hear that in today's time, because we are encouraged to shelter in place, right? Those quotes we're encouraged to stay at home, were encouraged to wear our masks, to wear PPE. When we're out to take precautions, when we're out there, that goes against what God is telling us to do physically, but spiritually, this stuff can take place at any time.

And that's what, that's what, um, Not only the author, the author, but pastors across the nation today are saying this isn't it. You can't put God in a box and put them on a shelf and say, Oh, we're going to, when we get back to church, we'll bring you out. He is working. Join him now in, in, in whatever respect that you can, because this.

Evangelizing can take place anywhere even through the screens or the equipment that we have and all that type of stuff. It can work. God can work through that. Now it's a lot more because we need each other. It's a lot more dynamic being in a social atmosphere. Fear. It's a lot more energizing when we're around people, but you don't need that to be able to have that relationship with God.

Now it's good to go. And cooperatively worship, just like it was seen in our study with, uh, acts a couple of weeks ago, the reason they were being blessed them was because they were coming together as a group. And providing for everybody else, you see, uh, they were working just like people are today.

They're still continuing to work for the homeless and the needy and all those other ones that are without right now, they're providing for them. And you can't do that through the screen. You can't get. And that's what the call is to work. Now that might be different things. You might be a little bit more technology oriented, like I am and get all this stuff around for, for your church and everything.

You might be a big, strong guy. Or girl, you might, you might be able to lift things and do things. You might be able to sing music and you need to be able to do that. And you need to practice your technique to be able to help and serve God the best way. You know, how this playing Christ's light character, attitude, actions, and speech in our everyday interactions brings light to dark places and situations.

And I know I'm running a little bit behind on my time, but that is what it's all about is living a Christ. Centered life. And that means obeying God's law. Love, God love your neighbor, but being an example, being a servant, whenever you can. And in every situation, right, it doesn't mean going out there again, like what I said, go in and make disciples doesn't mean beating people over the head with the Bible.

It means showing love. I mean, showing that you care, because again, that's going to be pointing to God being that example is going to lead them to God. Okay. And we're going to read the last few verses here. Uh, this is what the Lord says. I will answer you in a time of favor and I will help you in a day of salvation.

I will keep you, and I will appoint you to be a covenant for the people to restore the land, to make them possess the desolate inheritances, saying to the prisoners, come out and to those who are in darkness, show yourselves, they will feed along the pathways. And their pastures will all be on the barren Heights.

They went out hunger or thirst. The scorching heat or sun will not strike them for their compassionate one will guide them and lead them to Springs. And that's really, really cool because when we were really thirsty, when we think about cool water, right? Not all Springs, there's some hot Springs out there, but there are cool Springs as well.

We have some around here where the water literally like. Flows out of the, the, the ground, the rocks and stuff like that. It's a cool thirst, quenching water. And we get that picture. What is pain right here is that our servant is going to lead this lead, lead us to that. They're gonna, they're gonna, um, show us a true restoration.

I will make verse 11. I will make all my mountains into a road and my highways will be raised at, see, these will come from far away from the North and from the West and from the land of sign them. Shout for joy, you heavens earth rejoice mountains break into joyful shouts for the Lord has comfort his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

Man, that's a awesome verse to end on, but also to visualize like, um, Well, we think of that, that celebration, um, for completing a journey for completing anything, we just feel relaxed. Those verses right there, kind of relaxed me a little bit is that there's a, there's a glorious end to this, uh, tie to this, to this place.

And that's what he's talking about at the proper time, God removed the would remove the remnant from exile, restorative land or replenished him. Verse 10 is quoted in revelations. Seven 16 and 17 eternal provision and refreshing away all believers see a spring kind of, uh, um, is a good example of that.

While there might not be an endless supply. Like we think that, you know, there's. Aquifer an aquifer has a big old groundwater supply and everything like that. Well, we might not think that that is endless. We don't see it on there on earth when we're looking at that spring. And a lot of people probably thought the same way.

That's why they dug Wells, uh, in, in, in the old world at that time was because they could get a source of water that would never run out, so to speak. And if they did, they just dug it deeper and all that type of stuff. Right. That's the endless love. And that's the endless. Replenishment of life that we're going to experience.

Once we get to that time, once we get to that time, you see he's he never...

https://cushing-sunday-school.captivate.fm

<itunes:image href="https://artwork.captivate.fm/629f7988-52b1-4028-a920-3e81e391acbb/ClNGoTe4H6Oyvf4Vq_IckyYp.jpg"/>
Arthur L.
