Naasira Wahid

Naasira Wahid is part of the new business division with Sony Electronics. In this role she works with new and innovative products from the Sony R&D Team as well as with the Sony Global Education Division on KOOV, Sony’s new coding, robotics and design kit aimed at educators.  Naasira has a background in both operations and supply chain with 10+ years developing strategies relating to new product launches. In her work on KOOV, Naasira spearheaded the creation of the KOOV Pilot Program which seeks to engage the education community directly to gain a better understanding of their needs and how best to support efforts and curriculum needs in STEM education. The KOOV pilot program allows educators, schools and students who may have little or no exposure, to obtain hands on experience with coding, robotics and design allowing them to make better choices in their consideration of purchasing the KOOV Educator Kit.

Andrew Buitron

Born and raised in San Diego, CA to Mexican immigrants. Attended the Preuss School UCSD from 6th-12th grade. First generation in family to attend and graduate from college. Received B.A in Psychology from Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. Fulbright Program Award grantee to teach English in Malaysia. Been working for BLCI since May 2017, initially at Chula Vista program site. Moved to Barrio Logan site in September 2018.

          Karl Rectanus is an educator, entrepreneur and adviser.           Nathan Lang, EdD, is a speaker, author, and professional learning facilitator. He is chief education officer at WeVideo. Throughout his career, he has served as a teacher, assistant principal, university adjunct professor, consultant, and education strategist. He was director of elementary curriculum and instruction for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, as well as education supervisor at NASA's Johnson Space Center. He speaks at both local and national professional conferences and is the cofounder of Bammy Award-nominated #LeadUpChat, an educational leadership professional learning network (PLN) on Twitter. Nathan is also the cofounder of #divergED, a Twitter chat focused on divergent thinking and innovations in education. He is a Google Certified Educator, Microsoft Innovative Educator, and 2016 Apple Teacher and serves on the International Literacy Association Task Force.

          He is the author of Everyday Instructional Coaching and is also currently co-authoring a book with Dr. Robert J. Marzano on the new art and science of teaching mathematics. Nathan has written several blog posts that have been featured on the EdTech K-12, Corwin Connect, Education Week, K-12 Blueprint, and Solution Tree websites.

          John Kline

          John Kline is currently Vice President of Sales at WeVideo. He attended the Yale School of Music and spent a few years teaching at a university Way Out West. After teaching, John began working in education technology, helping teachers and professors use technology in the classroom and lecture hall. He eventually transitioned to working in edu sales and marketing for a couple of wonderful companies that made Really Nice Things for video, audio, music, and media arts.
