Fort Wayne Goes Undefeated in Their First Week At Home

There's been a frenzy of activity this week at The Ru, the new home of Fort Wayne FC, where the home side finished 2-0-1 in their first home games of the season. It started with a 2-2 draw with Charlotte and continued with a 3-0 win on Wednesday night over Portland Hearts of Pine, and wrapped up on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Westchester SC. Those seven points earned this week, quickly moved Fort Wayne up the table into a 3-way tie for 5th.

This week Taig Healy joins us to talk about the team's first home stand and the crucial role he has played with a goal in each of those three matches.

Debut at "The Ru" | Fort Wayne FC's Home Opener vs Charlotte Independence

Fort Wayne FC welcomed Charlotte Independence to their Debut at "The Ru," otherwise known as Ruoff Mortgage Stadium. The match has been circled for months by fans in Fort Wayne, and though the stadium is not yet complete, the game was played. For some, it lived up to the hype. For others, the unfinished state of the venue was enough to curb their enthusiasm. But in the end, everyone appreciated the fact that professional soccer is back in Fort Wayne, IN.

In this episode we will talk to local athlete, Emerson Nieto, whose contract was announced just hours before kickoff, and who made his professional debut in the second half.

And now that we get to watch our team play in their home stadium, five times this month, before the official grand opening on July 4, we will talk about what this means for the city and for fans in the region.

Building a Strong Roster in Fort Wayne

Pro Players, Pro Standards: The USL Labor Dispute

The USL Players Association has yet to come to terms with league headquarters about a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that would include a higher league minimum salary and more consistent health and wellness benefits for players across the league. Though this dispute only directly impacts USL Championship clubs at the moment, the ripples may soon be felt throughout USL League One who only has two years left of their current CBA.

Fort Wayne FC to Face Indy Eleven

High School Season Wrap Up

In the end, the Blackhawk Christian boys came away with the 1A State Championship and the Fort Wayne Fusion Girls were crowned National Champions.

Player Awards, Championship Trophies, and a Fresh New Look

Regional Recap and Fort Wayne FC Announces a Rebrand

The high school regional semi-finals and finals were held this past week and though so many of our area teams participated, only one still remains in the competition. We'll recap those regional matches and see what's ahead for the Blackhawk Christian boys as they advance to the state semi-finals.

Also, Fort Wayne FC recently announced they are going with a new look as they head into a new league. The details of their rebrand have not been released but will be this Thursday evening and we'll be there to cover it. Listen for more details.

And finally, Next Gen College Soccer Committee just released a white paper (read it here) in conjunction with US Soccer, recommending some fairly drastic changes to college soccer to enhance player development, cut costs for the institutions and better align with professional leagues schedules. Penalties Deciding Regular Season Conference Games

The high school soccer season is getting more exciting as teams get deeper into conference play. When those conference matches end in a draw, the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) gives conferences the option to end it as it is or to decide the match by penalty kicks. Here in Fort Wayne we've seen several matches this week decided by penalties and tonight we will discuss why this is or is not a good thing for the game.

High School Stars, Crazy Scorelines, and Summit City United

Fort Wayne Youth Finish Second at Nationals
