Thanksgiving: Another perspective with Alex Rousseau Episode 11

As Americans, we’re preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving a holiday that commemorates the coming together of Native American’s and colonists to share a meal. It’s also a time to reflect on gratitude, which is an important practice we should participate in all year round. Because of our history with the Native American people, I pondered this question, what happened after the first Thanksgiving? Also, how do we move away from apathy and awaken compassion and concern for our Native American Brothers and Sisters? Join me in a conversation with my friend Alex Rousseau as we explore these things and more while Getting Real Immersed in Truth.

Many of us have experienced quite a bit of loss, uncertainty, and financial hardship. These experiences may lead us to wonder why. Why am I going through this? We may ask, does God see us? Does he hear us? Some of us sit in the truth God is Sovereign, while others may experience anger, and frustration towards God. And you what that’s okay. The stress many of us are under has caused emotional pains and heartache. How do we process our roller coaster of emotions right now and move toward the promise of hope?

2020 has been a year of stressful and even traumatic events. Covid19, Natural disasters, racism, and racial injustice, political divisiveness, divisiveness as a country, and divisiveness as Christians. Many of us are on autopilot. Just trudging through trying to get through the day, the week, and for some, the hour. Many of us are anxiously waiting for 2020 to be over, in hopes that things will improve. This is episode 7 and we’re talking about self-care In episode 6 We talked a little about the physical aspect of self-care and the importance of physical activity and healthful eating. Today we're going to focus on mindfulness and mind-body connection through breathing and intentional movement. My guest is Tae-Woo Kim, He earned a Master’s Degree in nutrition and exercise. Tae-Woo has been a Personal trainer for 8 years. His credentials include: ACE group fitness instructor, Keiser cycling instructor, Animal Flow LVL1 instructor, Tae-Woo is also an Online fitness coach

What’s the connection between and our minds and physical movement?

How did my trainer help me and his other clients focus on movement and our mental well-being during quarantine? We’ll explore these things and more while Getting Real Immersed in Truth.

2020 has been a year of stressful and even traumatic events. Natural disasters,Covid19, more people becoming aware of racism and racial injustice, the loss of normalcy, death of beloved Icons in history, athletics and the arts, political divisiveness, our polarized country, and sadly Polarization as Christians. Many of us are on autopilot. Just trudging through trying to get through the week, the day, and for some, the hour. Many of us are anxiously waiting for 2020 to be over, in hopes that things will improve. Jeremiah 30:17 says "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the LORD" ~ Today I’m talking to Jeremy Miller - Owner/operator of Redzone Fitness and Training Center. He has a Masters’s degree in Business and a Bachelors’s degree in Exercise and Nutrition. Jeremy has been a fitness trainer for nine years. One thing I like to say is if you have health problems or a chronic illness please see your physician before starting any workout.

How does a person who is raised to dislike other races and another who was distrusting of white people find each other? How does a person change their perspective from that of their family of origin? How should brothers and sisters in Christ respond to racism? These questions and more we’ll explore While Getting Real immersed in Truth.

The theme of Redemption is weaved all throughout Ken and Gigi’s story. It’s visible in they’re personal stories and in they’re story as a couple. They have seen what God can do and how the love of Christ can change hearts. I will pray alongside them and ask you to join me as we pray for opened eyes, changed hearts, healing for each other, our country, and around the world.
