A beautiful quote from our gangsta buddy Gin Rummy of the Boondocks. What does this quote mean? Well, for today's podcast, it takes on the meaning of whatever we perceive to be the reality, may not be the reality we perceive. In other words, we don't necessarily see reality for what it really is. Rather, we bend it's nearly infinite possibilities to our own experiences. Granted, I'm not the smartest guy in the room, but we take a jab at this concept. Enjoy.

People go viral for with the best of intentions and as the fame lingers, so does the chance for these individuals to become "exposed". Once exposed, slowly we see these individuals become villainous by happenstance. Let's be honest with ourselves, we are the "good" guy in the story of our lives. Rarely do we ever sit back and wonder, whether or not we are the villain's in someone else's story. It is that inability to be totally honest with ourselves that has led us towards becoming more distant, more harsh, more cold towards one another. Once we rip the Band-Aid off our self-righteousness, we will begin to see the others perspective.

People fall for the political drama and even go as far as to defend these TV personalities. Often it's drilled into our heads that the media is manipulating you, controlling your thoughts and feelings. It's all true. With all this political, conspiratorial, battle of ideologies going around, we need to start thinking about our fellow man and help them get to where they need to get to. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, who knows. But I can dream. And I dream of a world where everyone gets along.

We had the Derrick Jaxn cheating scandal. We had the Quavo and Saweetie elevator incident. There was Married At First Sight examples, where couples exhibited an ample amount of selfishness in their relationships. Then there's Flightreact, who was livestreaming when his (ex)girlfriend showed up to his house unannounced and created drama for the his live streamers to see. Once the cameras were off, so did the gloves. See good people, these are not good examples of what a healthy relationship should look like. These examples are clear cut examples of what toxic relationships are. We definitely need to shift our viewpoint of what a relationship is and how we should act within them. In any case, I hope you guys enjoy this episode, and most importantly, enjoy your weekend! Much love!

They don't give good advice and they only pander to what you want to hear. That's not giving advice at all. If you want some truth and some real advice, listen to Kevin Samuels. That brotha is handing out the solid advice left, right and center. Originally, I lumped this man with others who pander and give bad advice, but after listening to a couple of his shows, I realize that he's actually trying to help. His brand of truth telling isn't for everyone, but it's needed. Anyways, morale of the story, if you want a good relationship, fix yourself and grow up. Realize that relationships are a partnership, not a title. Love y'all. Enjoy!

Today, I'm going to continue that trend, cuz it's what good folk do! I'm going to let you know up front, a lot of you, have been getting horrible relationship advice. Especially men. Because of all the horrible advice you've been getting, a lot of you have a toddlers understanding of how relationships function. Everyone is very possessive when it comes to being in an intimate relationship, instead of treating the other person as an individual. As a result, a lot of you guys don't know how to handle break-ups, turmoil, and everything in between. Therefore, you become possessive, controlling, and vindictive, once the relationship sours. Don't worry, you can change. In today's episode, we talk about all of this. Enjoy!

Besides, cancel culture has struck again, and this time it has come for one of our favorite childhood authors, Dr. Seuss... or has it? everyone is up in arms that Dr. Seuss is stopping the printing and distribution of six of it's books for racist and stereotypical imagery. This was a move made and executed by Dr. Seuss's estate. Meaning, it was his heirs that decided to not further distribute these books. And now everyone is throwing a hissy fit over it. And I've come to find that it's more than just asking questions. It's the reasoning behind those questions that helps us to understand not only ourselves, but other subject matters. Thinking critically gives us the ability to decipher whether someone is feeding us a bunch of bull-jive, or is actually telling us the truth. It also, helps us understand our world better. Regardless, the ability to think critically is important for our personal growth. Doesn't hurt that it also helps us become a little bit smarter as well.

I've thought about how every decision has lead me to where I am today. I've thought about all the mistakes I've made, the people I have wronged, and the indecisions I haven't made. All of those actions, decisions, and indecisions have lead me to be the person that I am now. Yet, I can't help but wonder, why am I fixated on what was, could've been, or what might have been? Digging deeper, I've concluded, I haven't made peace with my former self. All of those actions and decisions have lingered, because I've made a valiant effort to avoid them. This has held me back from truly becoming who I want to become, and from fully enjoying the life that I have created for myself. So, in this episode, I talk about how it is important that we reconcile with our past in order to move forward.

And in fact, I think money does solve all our problems, it does buy happiness, and having it is so much better than not having it. Sure, we can make arguments that true happiness lies in the relationships and bonds we form in our lifetime, but let's be real, if we had a surplus of money, we'd be much happier! That's where a lot of your childhood memories are made. We laughed, we cried, got into fights, laughed, played, picked on each other, a simpler time. As we grow up though, we find ourselves growing distant. We stop going over as much, we stop calling as much, we've pretty much been reduced to just following each other on social media to be honest. Why is that? How come when we grow older, we grow more distant? I don't have the answers, but I'm willing to discuss.

I have come across a lot of conservatives (a good majority of which are my friends) talking about how the 1st amendment is under attack by big tech. I found this idea to be wrong and a gross exaggeration of simple censorship. I'm not for censorship, but to say that our 1st amendment rights are under attack is ridiculous. Another common talking point I've been hearing a lot among conservatives, is that they are being censored as well by big tech. Once again, I have to disagree. I'll admit that big tech does step out of line. Actually they're habitual line steppers, but they aren't censoring conservative thought. It's getting ridiculous to be honest. It seems that the group of people who like to call anyone who has a differing opinion a snowflake, are actually snowflakes.

This episode we build on the last episode and try to point the finger where it actually belongs. See, 2020 is supposed to be hindsight, where we learn from our past mistakes. I don't think we are doing that. In fact, we keep doing the same things over and over. I know there's a word or phrase for that....oh that's right, insanity! We keep electing dumb dumb officials into office wit the hopes that they will actually help us! But rather, the same thing happens every time, they help their corporate buddies and line their pockets with their money. Sigh! I don't know folks. Maybe we need to try something different? Whatever the case, this corporate buddy, buddy system isn't working. What do you think? Hit me up on Twitter: @gotrpodcast or email us at: guysoftheroundtable@gmail.com. Lend us your opinions.
*Point of note: I mentioned the 300 villian character in this episode. I called him Perseus or something to that extent. I want to make it clear that I know his Name is Xerxes. That's a my bad!

Most of us, for the most part, want to be better human beings. How we go about achieving that goal is almost always up to the individual. However you get there, just remember, the main reason in doing so is for personal growth. It's important that we grow as human beings, otherwise, we become stagnant in life. The old way of doing things isn't always the best or more efficient ways. In this episode, I talk about some reasons as to why it's important we continue to try and evolve. I talk about how I've grown myself. Hopefully, this can inspire someone out there to become the best version of themselves. Enjoy!

The old way of doing things isn't always the best or more efficient ways. In this episode, I talk about some reasons as to why it's important we continue to try and evolve. I talk about how I've grown myself. Hopefully, this can inspire someone out there to become the best version of themselves. I've found some interesting information on that search. Then I remembered what my mom always said to me, "never complain about a problem, if you don't have a solution". So, I went digging, and I think I came up with a solution as well. I hope you guys enjoy.

The votes haven't been fully tallied, but it is clear that Joe Biden is President elect. The wise-guys (in this case, smart people)have called the election in favor of Joe Biden. Yet, I've seen a disturbingly large amount of Trump supporters claiming victory in this election. If not, they are claiming that the election is "rigged". It's getting to the point that, I don't know how to go about talking to these people. Trump derangement is a real thing and I'm honestly, quite concerned for a large portion of my friends. False narrative about the election results continue to be copied and pasted all over social media. At this point, it is a direct threat to our democracy. I try my best to vent about the issues I'm witnessing in this episode. Enjoy!

A pandemic (plandemic to some), a Presidential election, millions of unemployed Americans, A President who is claiming a lot of false narratives, and a fan base who seems ready to accept any crazy notion he throws out here. This year has been one hell of a ride so far! But if we really look at 2020, we start to get a clearer picture, that we are supposed to be awakening and moving on from a lot of previously held notions (20/20 vision). In this episode, I will be exploring the alluring nature of conspiracy theories. And how we should be handling them in the future.

The time has come and it's officially election day here in the U.S! It doesn't matter who you go and vote for. It is our civic duty to go out and exercise our right to vote. No matter who wins this election, nothing will change. Wednesday November 4th, will be just another day in the history books. There will be no "civil war" most political pundits love talking about. Will there be some dumb-dumb's out there doing idiotic things? Probably. but that unrest will sort itself out. Election day will come and go, and we will either have a new standing President or the current one will be reelected. Either way, we will have four years of some old dude in charge. We seriously need younger more viable options at President.

I was totally ecstatic, cuz I'm a huge Kanye fan. Upon listening to the episode, it became very clear to me that something isn't right with Kanye. I've always took his ramblings as just someone who couldn't get his thoughts straight. After hearing the brotha speak? Nah, there's something definitely off about Mr. West. As I finished the episode, I started to ponder a bit about he's running for President, does it make sense for him to, and is he really a genius? We often loosely throw that word around, more often than not, as sarcasm. Made me think a bit, so I recorded that thought and now sharing it with you all. It's nothing bad. Just my humble thoughts on Kanye's mental health and state of mind. Enjoy!

Though I fully support your right to boycott such things, I find your cause to be flawed. It's a weird internal struggle to be honest. On one hand, boycotts have lead to a lot of positive changes throughout history. Yet, in this moment in history, boycotts have denigrated into mere tweets voicing displeasure about some obscure cause you are fighting for. Pretty much, boycotting has become the adult way of throwing a temper tantrum, because athletes and corporations aren't doing what you want them to do. It's become a silly game of who can be outraged by the dumbest things. Anywho, I share my thoughts on the matter in this weeks episode. Enjoy.

In this episode, he goes on to give a lot of great points about why you shouldn't date a woman that doesn't want to be with you. For the most part, I agreed with Hafeez, as dating someone who doesn't want you, will only lead to major problems within the relationship. Where I disagreed with Hafeez, is when he stated, "I want the woman I am going to be with, to treat me like her #1 draft pick". That statement isn't bad or wrong or anything, it's just it doesn't make a lot of sense in this scenario. There have been a lot of #1 draft picks that haven't panned out in the NFL, because they didn't fit the scheme. So in this episode, I go on to explain my reasoning as to why that statement doesn't work in my opinion. Unfortunately, they almost always told, "shut up and dribble". Here's the thing, if our athletes aren't allowed to give voice to the voiceless, then who will? Because, let's be honest, the average black man, will almost always be silenced before he has a chance to say anything. The tragedy of Jacob Blake being shot 7x's in the back in Kenosha Wisconsin, shows very clearly, that there is a huge bias in how police officers handle black men vs. white men when they commit crimes (allegedly). I for one, am glad that Lebron James and various other athletes are using their platforms to give voice to those that truly and desperately needs it. I wish race problems weren't a thing, but the string of unfortunate shootings, leads me to believe otherwise. Athletes, please continue to use your platform to continue the fight for equality. This brotha, is very grateful!

I like many others found this statement to be outlandish and so I took off to record my response to his statement. Luckily, I did not post my original audio. Instead, I took some time to actually think about his statement. Upon some reflection, I somewhat see his point. We do need intelligence running our country, but at the same time, we need to understand the plights of our fellow man. Therefore, I've come to my own conclusion that we need to be cautious about how we dole out empathy. We can lead with empathy, but use intelligence and wisdom to guide it. Blindly helping others without knowing their situation may lead us to supporting some bad habits of that individual. Enjoy.

Of all the available female V.P candidates he could've chosen, he went with Kamala Harris? Her track record is not good ladies and gentlemen. She has locked up more African American males for minor drug/crime offenses. She has ruined lives, blocked DNA evidence that would've exonerated many innocent individuals whom she has sent to jail. I'm not a fan of either of these two individuals for the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the United States of America. There were so many other fitting candidates, who actually didn't have shady political pasts. Instead, we are left with "creepy" Joe Biden, who seems to not be aware where he is half the time and struggles to make coherent sentences. On top of that, he is the author of the 1994 crime bill which has devastated the African American community. Then we have Kamala Harris, whose track record speaks for itself. She is the proud enforcer of that crime bill that Biden had passed 26 yrs ago. If this is who we are left with from the Democratic candidates, I fear that we have lost our way as Americans.

I hate to burst some of your bubbles, but sports and politics have been in bed for decades. From Jackie Robinson, Jim Thorpe, UFC fight decisions, sports franchises decided to leave a city/state, politics really dictate a lot of our sporting events. The NCAA was formed because Teddy Roosevelt didn't want college athletes to continuously change schools. And now the NCAA pretty much controls almost all college athletes livelihoods. So to say sports and politics don't mix, is disingenuous.

Whether it was the beginning of SJW's during the latter stages of Obama's era, the ecomomic recession at the end of Bush's tenure, and now a pandemic and a host of other social issues, following Trumps reelection bid. There always seems to be drama and in today's episode, we take a look.

Wrong. It has catapulted to the forefront of almost every talking point everywhere. Some say, race isn't an issue, some argue that race is still the issue. No matter what side of the debate you may be on, it is important that we have these discussions as objectively and forthright as possible. In today's episode, I give my opinions on the matter. In order to move forward, there needs to be dialogue. I hope to push that discussion in the right direction.
