“Broken Things”

“Broken Things” was inspired by ‘Kintsugi’ – the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken objects, often with gold lacquer. The lyrics explore embracing and cherishing the perceived imperfections and fractures within ourselves, our relationships, and our world. “Broken Things” showcases Gustavo's ability to tap into the human experience, encouraging us to see the beauty in what we perceive as broken.

“Continentes Distintos”

“Continentes Distintos” explores the stage of a relationship where things start to change and you can feel like strangers drifting apart as if you are on ‘different continents.’ Gustavo’s songwriting style and heartfelt lyrics again touch on the human experience we all share.

Gustavo Galindo has always been a musical explorer straddling two worlds, two cultures, and two languages. Born in Mexico and raised in the United States, he has created a unique musical vocabulary. His music is filled with passion, wisdom, and honesty which transcends borders and genres. Gustavo has shared the stage with global stars including Enrique Iglesias, LP, Juanes, Los Amigos Invisibles, and more.

ABOUT OTIS:

The Commonwealth of Kentucky has a storied music history and a large catalog of renowned artists. While it's most famous for producing more country music stars per capita than anywhere else in the United States, musicians all across the spectrum —from bluegrass to rock and roll—have called Kentucky home. Out of this musical melting pot comes the blues-based, rock 'n' roll band OTIS.

With Boone Froggett on guitar and vocals, John Seeley on bass, Alex Wells on guitar, and Dale Myers on drums, the members of The Otis Band stay connected to their Kentucky roots. Growing up around traditional instruments like piano, fiddle, and guitar instilled in them an appreciation for country-rock, bluegrass, gospel, and folk music. Kentucky's rich musical heritage led them to discover the Rock and Blues heroes that continue to influence the band's original material today.

While it would be easy to categorize the work of OTIS as Southern Rock, being from Kentucky, their musical background is much broader. In addition to being guided by the classic rock giants of the 1960s and 70s era, the members of OTIS draw inspiration from true greats—people like Muddy Waters, Leadbelly, and the artists of Motown—to create their own unique rock and roll sound.

After releasing Tough Times: A Tribute to John Brim,—Former Chess Records Blues Recording Artist— in 2014, OTIS joined Cleopatra Records in 2017, with the release of their second album Eyes of the Sun. A chance meeting with ZZ Top's Billy F. Gibbons led to the legend listening to Otis and becoming a fan—even handing their albums off to Buddy Guy and Jeff Beck! Four songs from Eyes of the Sun were also included in the 2020 film Street Survivors soundtrack.

Matty Marz is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Their musical influences range from pop, rock, funk, and electronica. With a technical background in classical music (vocal and composition) and years of experience producing, performing, and writing, Matty can steer the creative process any way they see fit.

Matty recently graduated from the Los Angeles Academy for Artists & Music Production (LAAMP), where multi-Grammy award-winning producers Tor Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen (Stargate) handpicked 45 talented artists and producers from around the globe to work with the industry's best mentors. LAAMP focuses on fine-tuning the craft of singing, songwriting, and the musical production of making great pop songs.

In 2023, Matty saw the releases of songs like "#2", a brash indie pop record filled with the angst of not being appreciated, referencing artists like Blondie & Talking Heads, followed by self-produced and written "m.w.u," a gritty electronic pop anthem about self-reflection and independence which introduced Matty's new era and sound. In addition to their artist project, songs like "sad4me" showcase Matty's ability to produce pop anthems for blossoming talent.

Toward the end of the 2023 season, Matty was approached with the opportunity to audition for American Idol S22, which features celebrity judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. The season will premiere in February 2024, so stay tuned!

This year is gearing up to be a monumental year for Matty as they prepare to release their highly anticipated album, "m.w.u." Inspired by artists such as Ethel Cain, Charli XCX, Bjork, & Infected Mushroom, "m.w.u" is a story of euphoria and release. Touching on genres like industrial, electronic, drum 'n' bass, and trap, Matty has created a diverse and immersive project to wow listeners and transport them into a different plane of consciousness.

ABOUT SERANATION:

Seranation is an original band devoted to their own style of music. Residing in St. Petersburg FL, the band was founded in 2014 by members Adam Hocker (Guitar/backup vocals), J.Carter (Lead vocals), and Bianca Schlosser (Bass/backup vocals). Brentley Gore is a multi-talented performer and creative professional with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He is best known for his role as Matt Garrison on the hit television show California Dreams, which aired in over 48 countries and established him as a teen star. In addition to his acting career, Brentley is a talented singer-songwriter and musician. He has released several albums as a solo artist, including "Up Until Now," which includes a mix of songs recorded with his previous band King Straggler, and solo recordings. He has served as a performance and song craft professor at the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Brentley was also the founder of the Los Angeles Performing Arts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the performing arts. In the fall of 2022, he starred in the rock opera, Staring Into Nothing in Los Angeles. Currently, he has just completed and released his world-class, star-studded 2nd Studio Album "At the Ready."

ABOUT THE NOW:

The highly infectious and guitar-heavy hooks of the four-piece band The Now were born in South Wales in 2018 after Shane Callaghan (Rhythm Guitar & Lead Vocals), Will Scott (Drums), Callum Bromage (Guitar & Vocals) and Jay Evans (Bass Guitar) met at a local jam night.

But once I read it back, it became clear that this was going to be a particularly exposing three minutes. Thankfully, the touched-upon themes are unmistakably human, so at the very least I’ve confirmed that I am indeed only human.”

London-based pop artist Rhian! shows his vulnerable side with “Stay.” Following a string of hook-driven pop bops, this will be the artist’s first entrée into the ballad world. The single was written and produced by Rhian! co-produced by Massimo Braghieri and recorded at Intonoise Studio in London.

“Stay” starts off as a minimally produced pop ballad set to a prominent, somber piano and propelled by a sparse muffled drum kit. Expressing themes of heartbreak and melancholy, Rhian!’s vocals are front and center throughout this track. He pulls back when he needs to, but lets loose just at the right moments. The song builds to a dramatic crescendo with a lush string arrangement on a bed of angelic vocal harmonies as Rhian’s lead vocal soars. “I’m so consumed with this emptiness. Why does love have to be so cruel.” He ponders in despair.

“I wrote this song about someone who at the time I thought was the love of my life. It's about heartbreak and the aftermath of it. The different stages and range of emotions a person goes through after a bad breakup. I think these are feelings that everyone can relate to.”

Originally born in Trinidad, Rhian! started his journey singing in church at the age of 4 where his father was the preacher. He faced the challenges of concealing his sexuality in his early years. By his teens, he made London his home obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Performance and Production from the London Center of Contemporary Music. In 2012 he won two silver medals at the World Championships Of Performing Arts in California.

He then embarked on a journey to Shanghai, China where he performed to sold-out audiences at The Pearl Theatre until 2019. During the pandemic, Rhian! relocated back to the UK, landing performances at a wide variety of venues, dazzling audiences with his exuberant style and stage presence.

They are not famous but many of their fans are. Some of your favorite artists, celebrities and tastemakers have All Day Sucker on their iPods because, as BPM Magazine noted, “they are inextricably linked to all things Hollywood”. If you want to know the best a city has to offer, ask a local.

"Since high school we’ve always had a great following.” Jordan Summers (Keyboards/ Songwriter) explains. “A lot of those same people found success and became famous. Our music was part of the soundtrack to their lives”. Morty Coyle (Singer/Songwriter)

contends, "Hollywood is a hard place to be from because, for the most part, you’ve got nowhere to go. When you grow up here, you don’t have any preconceived notion of what it’s supposed to be like. It just is how it is."

A little time traveling might be in order to fully grasp how fully entrenched Coyle and Summers have been in the musical culture of Los Angeles. Trends came and went, but the classic pop band the two formed in high school, which evolved into The iMPOSTERS, had a timeless quality that made them a fixture on Sunset Strip for over a decade. You name it; they played it, or had a residency there: Roxy, Whisky A Go Go, Roxbury, Peanuts, Sunset Social Club, Opium Den and The Viper Room, where they did a two year Sunday night residency in the mid-'90s.

It’s impossible to convey the six degrees of Kevin Bacon-ness and Zelig-esque history of All Day Sucker without gratuitous name dropping and a flow chart. They gave The Wallflowers their first gig at Gazzari’s. Smuggled in an underage Maroon 5 to open for them at the Viper Room and were bombarded by special guests like Adam Duritz, Stephen Stills, Jon Brion, Gibby Haynes, Tommy Stinson (The Replacements), Richard Butler (Psychedelic Furs} Benmont Tench (The Heartbreakers) among many others during their tenure at the club. They helped transform Canter’s Kibitz Room into a Tuesday night Mecca where Slash, Lenny Kravitz, Dave Navarro,

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Crowes, Rage Against The Machine, Tonic, The Pointer Sisters, Rick James and countless others came to jam and still do.

"Jordan and I had been making albums and playing as All Day Sucker with different musicians for several years after The iMPOSTERS disbanded” Morty explains. "Like Steely Dan, we were the main songwriters and constants of ADS. Our old friend Jay Gore (Mindi Aibar, Hilary Duff, Lauryn Hill, Michael McDonald) had played guitar with us on and off through it all and for years we all knew we wanted to capture the sound of the rhythm section and amazing vocals of bassist Dan Rothchild (Heart, Beck, Fiona Apple, Shakira) and drummer David Goodstein (Daniel Powter, Jackson Browne, Ricky Martin) . We had all been playing together for years both on Tuesdays at The Kibitz with The F.O.C.K.R.s collective and as Men Without Sex, our party cover band. Dan, David and Jay are beyond pedigreed musicians so I figured if I was the worst guy up there we'd be alright".

"Through no fault of our own we all have really grown into a band." Summers jokes. "There’s 5 guy’s DNA in this baby”.

Rothchild is also the producer on All Day Sucker’s new album “Denim Days”. He produced Better Than Ezra’s 1995 platinum selling debut “Deluxe”.

Inspired by real life events, Denim Days is brimming with heady, street-smart yet refreshingly sweet, sophisticated melodic rock. What gives their instantly memorable hooks a soulful resonance are sharp musicianship and a grounded lyrical sense that illuminates mature, authentic feelings.

"What started out as a record about domestic bliss became whatever this is. The winds changed and so did the direction of some of the songs" Morty explained. But the witty and

musically eclectic band mask their cynicism and despair in a sugar-coating of melodic pop and neo-classic rock.

"The song "No Hard Feelings” started as a love song to my ex, confides Morty, and ended up being a rather tidy encapsulation of our relationship and what would remain after".

According to Coyle, "The title track "Denim Days” is about our core unit's uniquely, long-lasting friendships. Maybe it's due to Jordan and me both being born and bred Los Angelenos but it became increasingly noticeable that many other transient visitors and newer residents didn't have the support system of friends that went back decades that we're fortunate to still have.

"Quality Problems" is a quirky piece of pop perfection "about love and the prevention of”, Morty wryly teases.

The aptly named tune, "The Single" grows from a lonely telephone ring into a sad but soaring, cinematic ballad. “That's an interesting one because at first it was a reminiscing about how I assume so many other fellas felt about the grind of bachelorhood. However as I found myself single halfway through making the record it became something of a mantra to guide my progress through the choppy seas of willing loneliness”.

The celeb quotient was high on All Day Sucker’s 2004 self-titled debut, which was produced by Evan Frankfort (Pete Yorn, The Wallflowers, Liz Phair) and Warren Huart (Aerosmith, The Fray, Better Than Ezra, Matisyahu) and featured such notable guest performers as Susanna Hoffs (Bangles), Stan Frazier (Sugar Ray) and Monique Powell (Save Ferris), and actor/musician Esai Morales. Their creative growth is vividly evident in songs like “Heavy Weather,” with its dynamic sonics, and the clever self-awareness of “Worst Case Scenario.” “It takes three or four concerts for our songs to find themselves live, yet ‘Heavy Weather’ has always gone over well,” Summers says. “It’s something of an epic for us.”

“Worst Case Scenario" is a song of perspective, pretty much like our version of Steely Dan’s ‘Hey 19’, Coyle notes. “There’s always a moment when you realize that you can’t stand on one side of a fence anymore. It’s like being a college grad and telling your high school’s latest graduating class how cool you were back then. You have to realize that you’re outside that fence. This song describes how you make peace with being on the other side.

For “Get High" we wanted Susanna Hoffs from the Bangles to sing harmonies on it, but she wouldn’t because she didn’t want her kids to know she was singing a song called ‘Get High.’ So she chose to sing on ‘Rub It In’ instead.”

Following up their Self Titled debut album produced by Evan Frankfort (Wallflowers, Pete Yorn) and Warren Huart (The Fray, Aerosmith) is The Big Pretend. Part adoring valentine, part cleverly biting commentary on their hometown, All Day Sucker’s second release is a full length bona fide concept album written by Coyle and Summers that shows their pride in L.A. even as it pokes fun at the occasional ridiculousness and idiosyncrasies of a city where everyone has some connection to the film industry. Produced by Noah Shain (Orson, As Tall As Lions, Dead Sarah) and released on the duo’s label Trademark Entertainment/big WOW music, the set is an inspired twist on the sounds of the classic rock era reinvented for modern ears. Slices of “home” include “Santa Ana,” a song that uses those infamously hot, fire friendly winds as a metaphor for that moment in a relationship when you just want the fighting to stop and you might even pray to a saint to keep the peace; “Nobody Somewhere,” about people’s ambitions turned illusions when they go from being a big fish in a small pond into the primordial soup of L.A. where there are only small fish trying to survive; and “Beverly Park,” All Day Sucker’s “Strawberry Fields”/”Penny Lane” moment, a bittersweet lament about a famous amusement park they fondly remember from childhood, which is now the site of the Beverly Center.

The duo backed singer/songwriter Jordan Zevon (son of the late rocker Warren Zevon) on his critically acclaimed debut album Insides Out. Summers co-wrote, co-produced and played keyboards and Coyle appeared on backing vocals and co-wrote several tracks. One of these songs, “Home,” a touching love song to Warren, won Best Song in the pop category and Grand Prize Overall in the prestigious U.S.A. Songwriting Awards

Summers and Jordan Zevon do several shows around the country every year for the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization. Warren Zevon died of mesothelioma, a form of cancer that is almost always caused by exposure to asbestos; Jordan is now an international spokesperson for the disease.

ABOUT HONEY GENTRY:

Honey Gentry is a singer, songwriter and producer based in London, UK. Inspired by mythology, cinema, and self-help books in equal measure, the former screenwriting student prides herself on her worldbuilding.

Born and raised in London, Honey Gentry had music fans for parents. “Music soundtracked everything – Friday night car journeys to Dad’s, or weekday mornings getting ready to club classics and disco hits on mum’s radio,” she reflects. Her dad’s music taste informed her music education as much as her mum’s love for pop: “Dad was introducing us to Kate Bush and No Doubt, later Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.” Her own taste was developing – she was a teenage fan of My Chemical Romance and Nine Inch Nails as much as Marina and the Diamonds or Lady Gaga. She mellowed as she approached her late teens – “I saw The Pierces on the Jools Holland show and their sound enchanted me; I went on to see them live in London a few times after that,” she says of the folk-pop duo, who inspired her to dive deeper into the worlds of Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Joan Baez and Janis Ian. Later, Lana Del Rey would place the final piece in the puzzle, inspiring Honey to perform as well as write. “What Lana gave me that most other artists hadn’t before that: extraverted aspirations for such an introverted singer. It was OK for an artist like me to aspire to be known – it didn’t mean I had to change who I was.”

After school, she started her writing journey pursuing screenwriting, enrolling in film school at the age of 19. “It was during those years that, although I enjoyed what I was doing with film, I realised I couldn’t leave music behind,” she reflects. Upon graduating, she turned her attention almost immediately to music, painstakingly teaching herself how to produce and record at home, recording at night whilst working full time in admin jobs to pay the bills and fund her music. Those early recordings and demos led her to meet Ruben Elbrond-Palmer, who would co-write and produce Moonlight EP (2018) and Dreamlover EP (2019): “once we started work on the early Honey Gentry demos, I knew I had found the sound I wanted to pursue. He just immediately understood what I was trying to achieve and made my early sound what it was.”

After Moonlight and Dreamlover, Honey Gentry took over as sole writer and producer for her debut, HG (2020): “It started entirely as a practical thing – we were in the early stages lockdown and I didn’t want to pause on the work I’d been doing on writing my next body of work.” By August 2020, the period of isolation had led Honey to emerge blinking into the late summer with her first album: HG, which was released digitally on 22 September 2020, and followed by a crowdfunded vinyl pressing.

The follow-up to HG saw Honey take a deeper dive into production and sampling – the title track opens with a quote from the film, Night Tide (1961) which seems to perfectly reintroduce the artist: But I’d like you to know me better… I’m not afraid of that. The album glimmers with synths and electric pianos, soundtracking reflections on mortality (Summer Air), power struggles (Let You Win), desire to escape (Take Me Somewhere) and domesticity (Peaches).

Different Water, the latest offering from Honey Gentry, is out now. Diving deeper into her sound as a producer, she also uses the three track EP to reflect on interstellar space, childhood, ageing, and straying from your own self for the people you love. Under Taurus, the lead single from the EP, is named after the Louise Glück poem of the same name. “With Under Taurus, I really wanted to use the imagery from her poem – someone pointing out something in the night sky that we just can’t see with our own eyes – to explore what it means to change too much for others – saying we want or see something that isn’t true to us.”

Outside of writing and producing, Honey Gentry is currently scoring her first short film, works as a video editor by day, and loves haphazardly shooting film.

These were words artist Jess Nolan lived by over the course of the last three years. As everything in the world came to a halt, she kept her creative mind in motion-writing, drawing, singing, and painting her way through the unknown, pursuits Nolan has always relied on to help alchemize her surroundings. The seeds of her sophomore LP’93, out this fall via Righteous Babe Records, sprouted in the height of 2020. Nolan, a member of Jenny Lewis’ all-female touring band, is an in-demand co-writer, vocalist, and touring musician for artists like Katie Pruitt, Joy Oladokun, Lydia Luce, and more. In the midst of the initial involuntary stillness, she planted a backyard vegetable garden, moved her involvement in mentoring young female songwriters online, and traveled back to her New Jersey hometown to stay with family for weeks at a time. In the face of uncertainty, strong, deeply-rooted feelings came pouring out, resulting in 10 poignant reflections on rebirth, reconnection, and mindfulness. Mandi Crimmins is the chaotically-relatable rockstar you’ve been searching for. Mandi suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder and does not hide that, but instead uses it to connect and relate to listeners also struggling with mental illness. From chaotic, high-energy moments to darker, melancholy periods, the EP covers a range of emotions, but one thing remains constant - her totally unfiltered approach.

Mandi shares, “While I was in the process of writing the EP, I actually ended up getting diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. Writing to me is therapeutic and usually whatever is weighing on my mind most comes out during the writing session. After I finished the EP, I realized that I had been writing about my diagnosis before I even had it. They all perfectly described what it feels like to be in my head.”

Her music speaks for itself with its raw, real power that meets songwriting prowess - you can’t help but be addicted. With her storytelling lyrics and vulnerability, Mandi confides, “I hope more than anything that my music inspires someone to get help if they're struggling. ABOUT KILL, THE ICON:

KILL, THE ICON! is the synth-punk passion project from London-based doctor Nishant Joshi. Joshi made national headlines during the pandemic, being the first frontline NHS doctor to go public with concerns that staff were not being protected. In true punk rock style Joshi and his wife then launched a legal challenge against the government. They won the case, making huge change and were recognised by The FA and England's football team. Fueled with frustration, in the summer of 2020 KILL, THE ICON! was born as an extension of Joshi's activism.

'Your Anger Is Rational' is the debut punk-fuelled EP from KILL, THE ICON! released on Blaggers Records. 'Your Anger Is Rational' is as much of a musical endeavour as it is a thoughtful interrogation into the power structures that underpin modern Britain. The EP explores Britain's relationship with fascism, and how it changes shape via slippery politicians and skinheads alike.

Joshi views the band as a conduit for the nation’s anger therapy: 'There is a sense of helplessness and hopelessness in modern Britain, which seems to only be getting sharper and sharper by the day. Workers across industries are going on strike. People have been simmering in misery for the last decade of austerity, and now they’re suitably furious. So we’ve embraced the spirit of punk, and we’re using our platform as a positive act of rebellion.'

The opening track 'Heavy Heart' confronts the guise of racism in Britain. Joshi says 'brazen racism has retreated into the shadows, and subtle racism has taken over.' He asks racists to 'say it loud, say it proud. Come out of the shadows, and into the light once again where we can all see you.'

'Deathwish' is inspired by Joshi's parents and their experiences of overt racism in England in the 70s compared to his own experiences of more subtle racism. Joshi says 'I wanted to show the contrast between the subtle racism that I've faced all my life - being passed over for jobs, and ahem, gigs - compared to my parents who were actively shunned while they were settling in.'

'Danny Is A Hate Preacher' is written from the point of view of a narrator explaining the rise of a young, hapless boy who's transformed into a fascist hate preacher. Speaking about the track, Joshi says: 'This is about my belief that most hatred is actively seeded through generational trauma. I grew up in East London, surrounded by skinheads in bomber jackets, at a time when racist murders were depressingly common. This is a story about how hatred manifests and passes throughout generations.'

'Protect The Brand' is loosely based on David Fincher's Fight Club. The film is reimagined through the lens of an overworked and underpaid office worker tasked with mind-numbing, repetitive jobs until he finally engineers his own sacking. The worker stumbles through a crisis of realization, as he starts to question the purpose of work within a capitalist framework.

The surreal neo-noir artwork was conceived and designed by the band, as part of a set of themed digital art that is set to accompany the EP release. KILL, THE ICON!'s protest punk has been supported by the likes of John Kennedy on Radio X and has been an instant hit on alt blogs like The Zine and God Is In The TV.

It’s Catie Turner. I’m still here.

I’m less confused, but don’t worry I’m just as chaotic as I was before!

For a long time, it’s like I was a square trying to fit into a circle. I couldn’t find my place, and I did all kinds of weird things. At one point, I was even like, “Okay, now I’ll look sad in my music videos.”

It wasn’t me…

When my dad was diagnosed with cancer, I wrote a song called “Comedy & Tragedy,” and it inspired this whole project. “Comedy & Tragedy” is such a good way to describe who I am as a person and as an artist.

I’m a mix of a burst of energy with some trauma and sadness sprinkled on top.

I also use comedy to cope. When my dad was going through chemo, I kept cracking jokes to keep things lighthearted. I was really scared about what would happen though. I find lightness in the darkness, but I wish I didn’t—so I’m exploring why I feel the need to do that.

Music is my therapy.

While everything was going on, I kept writing and working on new songs. That felt good. I got to explore these sides of myself that I was too scared to explore before. I felt so creatively free for the first time, and I followed that feeling. I’m not trying to please everyone anymore.

I think this EP shows who I am for the first time.

In addition to the songs, I made Comedy & Tragedy The Musical The Series with a bunch of my friends. In a way, it’s me reclaiming the high school theater experience I wish I had. I was too scared to ever really put myself out there—so I never did theater, because it required public speaking and being vulnerable in front of people. This is my way of doing it (just a couple years later than when I was supposed to!).

Now, I’m more confident in my chaos and in myself. I’m embracing that I may never know why my brain works the way it does, but I’m accepting it’s just who I am.

When you listen to this, I hope you walk away knowing a little bit more about me and who I am. I don’t post a lot on social media (I’m still getting over my fear of that too!), so this music is a way to give you insight into my brain, my words, and my thoughts.

Eric Dash has been making music since his early teens. He started writing at 8 and recording EPs in Philadelphia at 13,playing shows all over the Tri-State area. However, it was when he was 23 that he tasted first success with his single “One More Love Song”.

Since then Dash has taken up producing as well, working with tons of independent artists and trying to find his own sound. His debut release as an artist/producer called Unspecified, was a non-genre specific collection in the midst of that exploration. He then had a string of singles and most recently released an EP, Ship Of Mine, which hasover400k streams in 6 months.

Dash’s first full length album, Bystander, is now on its way. The first single, “Two Steps”, released in December and has garnered a ton of initial attention. The next release, “Everything Is Nothing”, is set to drop February 10th. Just in time for Valentine’s Day as it discusses his pursuit of dreams only to find what’s truly important – his loved ones.

Crooked Teeth started in early 2017 simply as an outlet for founding member Tyson Evans with no grandeur vision in mind other than to make music as a form of catharsis. Since then, the moniker has evolved into a hard hitting, tried and true rock band with the addition of vocalist/guitarist Emma Oakley and drummer Jason Hayes. In 2022, the trio loaded themselves, gear and aspirations in a minivan and set out to rock faces and make new memories. In between touring the band released three singles with the intent of moving closer and closer to a debut full length which they are now hard at work on. The third and final single of 2022, "Promise", landed a ton of support from Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora and a whopping 165 spins in one month on Sirius XM's OCTANE channel. Crooked Teeth closed out the year with sold out opening slots alongside Boys Like Girls, Dead Poet Society and are ready to kick off 2023 with their brand hard hitting self proclaimed introvert anthem "Loser" featuring Cami Petyn dropping on January 20th. With a new album on the horizon, the band is headed full steam towards chasing down big dreams and creating a family out of new fans.

When Wolf Bradley and Andrew Macatrao first met as teens, they didn’t expect that their journey would lead to a long path of friendship and being on the cusp of becoming breakthrough musicians. Especially when that first encounter took place at Bradley’s parent’s ballet school in San Pedro. They weren’t enemies, but they certainly weren’t friends either. With a bunch of guys in the same age range, it was easy for them to be in direct competition with one another without becoming pals.

That would change soon enough. Bradley received a guitar as a present and, knowing that Macatrao played drums, they decided to jam together. All previous notions about one another went out the window and they became fast friends.

Over the years, members would come and go, leaving the duo as the only ones committed to making music seriously for the long haul. After cycling through a number of names, Bradley and Macatrao soon settled on calling themselves The Habits.

In 2019, the group’s single “Casual” would spend eight weeks in the Top 5, peaking at No.1 on hometown rock radio tastemaker KROQ’s “Locals Only” playlist. It wasn’t just in their hometown that the song would casually catch. SiriusXM’s Alt Nation and DC 101 added the song, quickly introducing the duo to a much wider audience.

Then the pandemic hit. After a few months of deliberation, The Habits decided to unleash their What’s the Worst That Can Happen? EP to the world. The decision proved to be wise. The single from the EP, “Shoulders,” recently surpassed 1 million streams and won a Best Pop Video at the California Music Video Awards in 2021.

But Bradley and Macatrao had larger ambitions than being local heroes. Through a friend, they met American Authors bassist Dave Rublin. Instantly connecting on a professional and friendly level, Rublin produced and co-wrote The Habits’ earworm, “Don’t Need A Hero,” released in 2022 to critical acclaim.

With a new introspective EP titled I Think I’m Fine But I Don’t Know set to arrive on April 28, The Habits are ready to spread their message even farther and wider than they have before.

The Ragged Jubilee consists of Ethan Burns (Guitar and Vocals), Chandler Haynes (Bass, Concepts), Aaron Wick (Drums) and Austin I’Anson (Guitar). The band is known for Ethans’s powerful and gritty vocals, their hard hitting drums and intricately calculated rhythm and bass.

San Luis Obispo, CA's The Ragged Jubilee recorded 'Mulholland Overdrive' in late 2020 with Rob Campanella (The Brian Jonestown Massacre). After spending most of that year cooped up and quarantined with ample time to write and practice, Ragged was ready to record their 5th studio album.

Jacob Wick introduced the band to Rob Campanella and in December 2020 the band drove down to Rob’s studio in LA. It took two days to record the album, mostly live. After recording the album, it was a longer road than expected for release but eventually Ragged signed to DC-Jam which allowed full steam ahead for releasing the album, 'Mulholland Overdrive.' The band feels this is their most ambitious project to date.

The Ragged Jubilee has had their music prominently featured on multiple episodes of Netflix’s Ozark, as well as the television shows, Supergirl, Walker, Shameless, The Good Lord Bird, and 68 Whiskey, and in recent blockbuster movies including Father Stu, and Buddy Games.

On this episode of Headliners, Greg sits down with DAVEY WARSOP of NOT to talk about their newest releases.

NOT is the brainchild of singer/ songwriter Davey Warsop, the LA based Brit known for fronting bands such as Beat Union, Suedehead and Sharp/Shock. Warsop met guitarist Brendan Scholz and bass player Jarred Cooper (both of las vegas’ Mercy Music) at a funeral, when their shared manager and So-Cal punk scene legend, Stewart Teggart tragically passed away. Through a shared love of pop punk pioneers ALL and Descendents, the trio pulled in Kyle Whitmore on drums and decided to make a record dedicated to Teggart. It seemed fitting as it was their late friend and mentor that made their lives cross paths to begin with.

Warsop and Scholz (both headstrong chief songwriters for their other musical projects, respectively) decided to combine forces exclusively for NOT, resulting in a powerhouse writing duo, like the pop-punk Lennon/ McCartney.

Their debut album “Stop the World” contains 14 hyperactive, caffeine fueled pop songs boasting hook after hook choruses about love and heartache whilst battling wild guitar solos and frantic bass energy.

To top things off, “Stop the World” wouldn’t be a fitting tribute to the ALL/ Descendents D.I.Y work ethic, without it being self-produced. Since landing himself in Los Angeles, Warsop has been producing and engineering for the likes of The Used, Green Day, Bad Cop Bad Cop and Face To Face. So it makes sense that the record was tracked at Warsop’s very own Strong Studios in Long Beach, California, with himself at the controls. The record was then mixed and mastered by Paul Miner (known for his work with New Found Glory and Death By Stereo).

The singles “Stop the World”, “Anxiety” and “Alien” are all streaming everywhere now with a full length on the way in the new year via Wiretap Records (North America), Brassneck Records (UK/ Europe), and Waterslide Records (Japan). CDs and cassettes will also be available via Paper and Plastick.

In Warsop’s own words “So many musicians have unapologetically paid tribute to bands like The Ramones or The Clash… It’s about time someone did the same for ALL. We’re just trying to fly that flag as proudly as possible.”

Scholz added “We certainly aren’t re-inventing the wheel, more so celebrating and paying tribute to the bands that helped define the pop punk genre. So If you like pop punk, you’ll love NOT!”

Oregon folk rock duo, Alma Mater, comprised of veterans of the Los Angeles and Oregon music scene, Dirk Sullivan and Andrew Paul Woodworth. The pair teamed up with producer Gregg Williams (Sheryl Crow, The Dandy Warhols, Blitzen Trapper, Emmylou Harris) to craft the poignant orchestral folk pop tune.

Andrew confides, “I was never afraid of dying until I had a child. Fading Moon, on the surface, seems like a love letter to my two baby boys. But, in reality, it’s a means to comfort myself from my overwhelming fear of leaving them behind when I die. When pure and intense love is experienced, there is a level of pain associated with it. I’ve never been more happy, but I’ve never been more scared. So this seemingly sweet, folky ditty is really a pretty dark, anxious proclamation.”

Musically, the hypnotic guitar riff of “Fading Moon” was written when Dirk was in hospice care, visiting his sick mother. Performing for her brought her joy and “Fading Moon” also represents the magic and healing nature of music.

Combined, Alma Mater have spent two decades recording and touring in various projects. Sullivan was signed to Interscope Records with his band Love On Ice and Woodworth fronted Elephant Ride, signed to Sony Records.

Anxious for some musical therapy during the pandemic, the two started meeting in Woodworth’s garage. Sullivan was enthralled with an alternate tuning on his guitar and found himself writing songs at a blistering clip, totally inspired by this fresh reverence for his instrument. He found the perfect partner in Woodworth, who could add pathos and melody to his already provocative landscapes. Sullivan was wrestling with a recent divorce and with the slow demise of his mother. By contrast, Woodworth was about to welcome his first child. They found a kinship in the intensity of their disparate stories. Somehow those contrasting life experiences brought out something completely raw and beautiful and melancholic and utterly explosive in their writing.

Connecticut born and bred artist Jake Huffman creates a euphoric realm of indie pop rock, bringing his anthemic energy to a global audience. Huffman has garnered humbling praise from the likes of the Rolling Stone, US Weekly, NPR and legendary XPN Radio Programming Director and DJ Bruce Warren, as well as also having caught the attention of Emmy, Grammy and Tony award-winning producer and composer Bill Sherman (Hamilton, In The Heights, Sesame Street) and Glee producer Michael Novick. Meanwhile on television, the musician has left an imprint as a composer and lyricist for Sesame Street, writing dozens of songs for artists like Ed Sheeran and Leon Bridges. Joker’s Hand is an alternative rock band based in Southern California that weaves elements of punk, hip-hop, and pop into their ear-catching sound. The band’s explosive live shows coupled with their melodic vocals and musicianship has catapulted them above the noise floor of the Los Angeles rock music scene. Founding members Kevin Kawano and Matt Lau started the band in 2017. Both are first-generation Asian Americans and had rigid, education-based upbringings. Their decision to dedicate their lives to music was very much going against the grain. The duo began carving a name for themselves in the Los Angeles club circuit before meeting producers Steve Ornest and Wyn Davis at Total Access Recording Studios (Sublime, No Doubt, Guns N’ Roses). Their debut EP hit streaming services and radio airwaves in 2020 with a full album to follow it up in late 2021. The band has been touring since then in anticipation for an upcoming EP to be released in late summer of 2022. The duo recently teamed up with Jakob Nowell on their latest single “Danny Phantom” which is currently in KROQ’s Top 5 on Locals Only.

‘Single By Sunday’ are a Pop Rock band from Glasgow. Core band members, Josh Ladds (lead vocals) and Jonny Eakins (lead guitar, backing vocals) are great believers in not being genre specific. "What's the point in having different musical influences and not experimenting with them. We prefer to be genre fluid, so you can hear different influences" - Jonny Eakins. Formed in 2015, they cite early Blink 182, My Chemical Romance, 5 Seconds of Summer and The 1975 as some of their influences.

Raucous guitars, vocal melodies, fun and tons of energy are all prerequisite at ‘Single By Sunday’ live shows. With a millennial brashness and a swagger all of their own, they pay homage to some of the mid-eighties Pop Punk bands.

Having opened the prestigious Scottish Music Awards, they have also headlined the Boston MA ‘First Night’ celebrations (at the request of NBC10 Boston) to a staggering 50k+ people. They also played Vans Warp tour in Buffalo NY alongside 3OH!3, Asking Alexandria, Waterparks, Palaye Royale etc.

On this episode of Headliners, Greg is joined by LONDYNNE & JACOBIE from LONDYNNE'S FALLING!!!!

Londynne’s Falling formed after the period of loneliness, longing, and self-reflection that was the 2020 pandemic.

“The loneliness really made us ask ourselves, ‘what music do I really want to be making?’ no longer giving into the pressures of fitting in with peers or friends,” says lead singer Londynne, “and the three of us decided that we missed a younger part of ourselves that was infatuated with rock and pop punk.”

The drummer, Josh Trevizo, was the first to join, adding drum parts over instrumentals and songs written by Londynne.

“[Londynne] posted on his Instagram story that he was looking for a guitarist…at the time I was feeling insanely isolated and defeated from years of trying to do music by myself,” says Jacobi.e, lead guitarist and the next to join Londynne’s Falling.

After getting together over messages and sharing playlists of musical inspirations, the band decided to meet up at Londynne’s home studio, where demos of their songs would go on to be recorded over the following months.

Since forming, the band's profile has continued to rise via a series of singles and covers, an ever-growing social media following, and shows at local venues like El Cid, The Viper Room, and The Mint.

Outside of Londynne’s Falling, the members have all been working within the music industry as artists, musicians, writers, and producers for upwards of 6 years, spanning a variety of genres from Pop to Hip-Hop to Jazz and everywhere in between. This culmination of experience gives Londynne’s Falling an edge of modernity and creativity not often found within bands of their genre.

Of the new single Jacobi.e says, "911 started when I walked in on Londynne playing his guitar and singing the basis of a melody. He had the start of a song that reminded him of something Taking Back Sunday would’ve done. We both grew up as 2000’s kids watching Behind the Music documentaries and being infatuated with band culture in general, so I immediately felt like I was in my own episode and immersed myself into the process. The song began with lyrics that focused more on hook retention and catchiness, though as we continued to write, a real story and a narrative began to form."

He adds, "The song is about someone placing pressure on another person to be perfect, without an ounce of self-reflection. Whether it relates to celebrity culture and the internet, romantic relationships, or your personal relationship with your parents, it’s about feeling harsh judgement, and the sirens that people sound the moment you make a mistake."

Once we finished the lyrics and chord structure, Josh and I began to flush out our parts and create a demo. After that, we had Macca come in to do a second verse; he was in LA visiting from the UK, so we were really excited to collaborate on a song that felt so meaningful to us. We explained the concept to him once we were in the studio, and he just sat there quietly writing. When he showed us his verse, Londynne and I were amazed. Not only was he able to match the theme, but expand upon it, drawing from his own personal experiences in life and as an artist. It just came together so smoothly, it felt like magic. The whole process felt nearly perfect."

LA-raised singer-songwriter Sophia Marie has released the next single off her upcoming sophomore EP.

Sophia says, “Staring at Botticelli’s Birth of Venus at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy during my study abroad this past summer, I reflected on the concept of muses, specifically the fact that I as an artist and, therefore, a producer of Art, have made many muses out of men throughout my songs but have never really had the same done to me. “could i be your muse?” is thus a reflection on this lack of reciprocity, imploring a man for once to take the burden of immortalizing me.”

The track follows the recent release of the single "Femme Fatale."

Sophia Marie's music is autobiographical. Each of her songs tells the story of a young life in progress. From leaving the sunny, casual west coast for a more buttoned-up DC life at Georgetown University (where she studies International Politics) to a life-changing semester abroad in Dublin, to unrequited romances and lovesick travels, each of these experiences is vividly documented in her music.

Singer and songwriter Sophia Marie George is a Los Angeles native and senior in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Harboring various passions, she finds herself oscillating (sometimes rather chaotically) between many different realms: her major in International Politics, her authorship of creative works, and her love for acting in addition to her music.

Sophia often feels like an ambitious, lust-for-life, nomadic kind of girl without a particular direction, one who doesn’t know exactly what she wants to do or who she wants to be, or where she wants to end up, and her storytelling reflects that indecisiveness, that impulsiveness, that desire to do everything while she’s young. Drawing from her identity as a self-proclaimed “hopeless romantic,” Sophia has a penchant for romanticizing historical figures and events, contemporary lovers, and foreign cities, weaving in the story of her West Coast roots in sunny Los Angeles, her university life in the political and cosmopolitan mecca that is Washington D.C., and her role as an expatriate in foreign cities.

A shamelessly emotional person, Sophia’s vulnerability stands out, with witty lyrics and asides giving comedic, realist commentary on the different places and situations she finds herself in. She is a girl still very much figuring it all out, the kind of crazy soul who seeks out every opportunity and every emotion life can offer. A wildness that sometimes contradicts her inexperienced and naive demeanor, a romanticism that contradicts her occasional feelings of disillusionment, and a performative personality that often contradicts her desire for authenticity.

The highly infectious and guitar-heavy hooks of four-piece band The Now were born in South Wales in 2018 after Shane Callaghan (Rhythm Guitar & Lead Vocals), Will Scott (Drums), Callum Bromage (Guitar & Vocals) and Jay Evans (Bass Guitar) met at a local jam night.

Their stage presence was something special, and after perfecting their sound, The Now released its debut single "Friendly Fire" in 2021, followed by the 2022 debut 5-song EP 'The Truth Always Comes Out In The End,' which spawned the singles "Holy" (which was chosen as "The Coolest Song in the World" by SiriusXM's Little Steven's Underground Garage) and "Rockstar," both of which landed them exposure on ITV, BBC, Sky Sports, MTV and a number of local independent radio stations.

The last year found The Now selling out the opening of their hometown Swansea Arena and supporting the likes of Placebo, Noel Gallagher, Reef, Trampoline, Florence Black, The New Roses, and more.

With an average age of 25, the Welsh rockers deliver a huge punch to the head with superb lyrics and highly charged instrumentals.

Having already worked with legendary producers like Grammy award-winning producer Jason Perry (McFly, Busted, Don Broco, The Blackout), Adam Noble (Coldplay, Biffy Clyro, Liam Gallagher) and Richard Jackson (The Automatic, Super Furry Animals and Duffy), the band is excited to announce a February 17 release date for their new single "Devil Inside Me," The track will appear on their upcoming debut full-length album, produced by Oli Jacobs (The 1975, Harry Styles) and due out this summer.

RYAN HAMILTON • Headliners #37

On this episode of Headliners, Greg is joined by the incomparable RYAN HAMILTON!!!!

Hailed by Spin Magazine as one of the ‘35 Best Lesser Known Artists of the Last 35 Years’, the Fort Worth, Texas-based musician released his first solo album, ‘Hell of a Day’, back in 2015. Prior to this, Hamilton had experienced success across North America and Canada with former band Smile Smile.

Hamilton signed to Stevie Van Zandt’s ‘Wicked Cool’ label in June 2018, and a sold-out tour of the UK supporting the Alarm followed.

In 2019, Hamilton and his band completed a West Coast tour of the US. By personal invitation, Ryan also played Adam Duritz’ (Counting Crows) ‘Underwater Sunshine’ festival in NYC and The Alarm’s Gathering festival in both Wales and NYC. Mike Peters of The Alarm has said of Ryan: “this young man is the future of rock n’roll.”

2019 saw multiple tours of the UK, once in support of the Tearaways featuring Blondie’s Clem Burke, who proclaimed: “Ryan is a genuine modern day 21st Century rock n’ roller.”

Hamilton closed out 2019 by opening for Jesse Malin (featuring Lucinda Williams) at the Bowery Ballroom, NYC. Hamilton’s first album for Wicked Cool, ‘This Is The Sound,’ was released May 2019 (winning in the 'Independent Music Awards ‘Album of the Year’ category), with the follow-up ‘Nowhere To Go But Everywhere’ coming in 2020. This album appeared on multiple Top 10 Official Charts in the UK as well as a number of ‘Albums of the Year’ polls.

2020 also saw the release of Hamilton’s chart-topping solo EP ‘Incommunicado’, following shortly after his ‘Songs and Stories’ solo acoustic tour of the UK, just before the pandemic hit.

His next album ‘1221’ was released in November 2021 and went straight into the Top 10 Indie Albums on the Official Charts (U.K.). '1221' is also the very first Wicked Cool release to be selected as an Official Record Store Day title, the exclusive vinyl edition released in April 2022.

Hamilton completed a short run of sold-out shows in the U.K. in February 2022, with RPM Magazine noting: “Ryan Hamilton is an artist whose back catalogue straddles power pop and Americana with radio-friendly singles and lyrics that hit the heart and soul. His live performance, whether with a band or solo is always memorable. For me a great artist has to have the whole package, that certain sparkle. Well written songs, a good voice, charisma and the ability to captivate an audience. Ryan has already proven himself in that department.”

2022 quickly shaped up to be one of Hamilton’s busiest to date, with multiple U.K. & US shows booked throughout the year and 2020’s postponed appearances at Maverick and LeeStock festivals finally taking place. In October 2022, Hamilton embarked upon a month-long tour of the U.K., co-headlining with Jason & The Scorchers legend Warner E. Hodges. The schedule took in the Orkney Islands to the North of Scotland, which have been inhabited for thousands of years since the Mesolithic period.

2023 promises to be even busier for Hamilton, with the release of 'Haunted By The Holy Ghost,' a full UK/European tour in Spring, plus festivals and US shows through summer and later in the year.

At the close of 2019, KILLBOY dropped her breakout single “WHEREDAFUCC,” the bedroom-produced anthem that not only grabbed a hold of critics and fans but introduced the world to this multifaceted artist with her unapologetic ethos. It’s been up ever since. Artists like KILLBOY are few and far between, as her cool is understated, yet she embraces her flaws through her music and laces them with sarcasm. The purple-haired singer/songwriter/producer crafts hits that are deeply personal and full of attitude. As KILLBOY releases “DADDY ISSUES,” her first single after being signed to Atlantic Records, she continues to sing with brutal honesty and tempers her emotions with biting wit.

KILLBOY was raised in the small town of Texarkana, a strip of land that sits on the borders of both Texas and Arkansas. She resided on the Texan side, in a highly conservative household and community that she always felt out of place in. “I was making music ever since I was little,” she recalls, seeking solace in her music as a means to rebel against the stringent walls surrounding her. She eventually adopted the name KILLBOY as a means to keep her music a secret from her family. However, by her teenage years she secured her first big break when a YouTube hit went viral. “I had a song on the radio when I was like 17 and I was on tour with Hinder,” she recalls, yet she put her aspirations on pause when labels didn’t want her to write and produce her own music. “I was like, ‘Fuck you guys, I’m going to college,’” she adds.

As a fledgling Biology major, KILLBOY kept avoiding the gravitational pull toward making music, until she couldn’t any longer. She started sharpening her production, even learning how to mix and engineer her own music. By her last semester of college, she realized it was go time, packed up her car and drove 24 hours to Los Angeles to make her dreams come true. The release of “WHEREDAFUCC” set it off, though her 2020 was spent bringing more hard anthems like “HIGH ON MY OWN SUPPLY,” “THAT’S OK I’LL JUST FUCK MYSELF,” and “HOW U GON.” She kept the momentum going into 2021, dropping her top-streaming bisexual love song “U+ME,” FUCK YO FRIENDS,” “CORY WIT THAT GF,” and “TRAVIS”—the latter of which KILLBOY saw a vision for when no one else did. They still released the single and it became her third most streamed song to date. “That’s when I realized I am just going to do whatever the fuck I wanna do,” she says.

The next iteration of KILLBOY’s career includes more live performances and keeping the production hard with the vocals sharp. “DADDY ISSUES” tackles grieving the death of her father yet spins it with some self-actualization and a touch of dark humor. On the live front, KILLBOY is set to play the So What?! Music Festival in May, and is currently on tour with jxdn.

KILLBOY is just getting warmed up, and as she continues to rock on her own terms, she keeps her mission clear. “I’m just going to keep doing what I enjoy,” she says matter of factly. “That’s what being KILLBOY is all about. I love the music I’m making and I hope it gives people the freedom to do whatever the fuck they want at all times.”

Cristóvam is a singer/songwriter from Portugal. Born amongst the deep blue of the Atlantic and the lush green of the beautiful Azores islands, Cristóvam’s music shines with a warmth that you won’t find anywhere else. Growing up, Cristóvam was surrounded by music everywhere he'd turn - his grandfather was a true radio pioneer who started the second oldest radio of the Atlantic and left behind a massive record collection, which Cristóvam would regularly lose himself in.

His love for organic singer/songwriters such as Ethan Johns, Bob Dylan, Ray Lamontagne and indie folk artists including Angus & Julia Stone and Bon Iver is what inspires his music today. Blending these two worlds together, Cristóvam hopes to create something that is both authentic and raw, but with a modern twist.

Brimming with euphony, he is soaring back into the scene with his new album Songs on a Wire, a twelve-track offering showcasing the very best of Cristóvam’s creativity. In a realm of reflection, his new record highlights key moments from the last two years of his life. He confides, “These were times where I dealt with a lot of different things, from the loneliness of the pandemic which was a bit intensified by the fact that I live in a small and remote island, to other happy things like getting married, getting signed or having my music going viral and reaching so many people and, on to of all that, this sort of big feeling that I was actually starting my life.”

Focus track “Ferris Wheel” is a tune that will put a spring in anyone's step, Cristóvam consolidates his status as an exceptional talent. He shares, "When you write songs, if you’re lucky, once in a while you write something that you are confident you’ll want to play forever. I think Ferris Wheel is one of those songs for me. I had a first sketch of the song and I showed it to Tim Hart, who ended up co-writing the rest of the lyrics with me." His echoic vocal energy flourishes alongside charismatic choruses and flowing melodies to create a tune that escalates with hope. Cristóvam continues, "I feel like the subject of these lyrics is a fragile one. This is a song that speaks about loving someone with bipolar disorder, about the almost transparent and thin line that determines how far you can go in trying to help someone without ending up with a burden that wasn’t your own. We’ve all seen emotionally balanced people fall into the abyss of depression, because they tried too hard to save someone who in the end, didn’t want to be saved. This is a song about sometimes having to choose your own mental health and letting go of battles that aren’t your own."

Cristóvam continues to build momentum across his repertoire and has seen great success, having won first prize in the “Unsigned Only” category for the International Songwriting Competition 2018. The judging panel featured the likes of Tom Waits, Keane, Bastille and Lorde, among many others. Cristóvam has also won two International Portuguese Music Awards (Pop Performance and Song of the Year). Sea Glass is the project of New York-based producer Jake Muskat. Inspired to release music after the birth of his first child, Sea Glass's music taps into universal emotions around growing up and dreaming. His sound invokes yearning, hope and nostalgia filtered through a positive lens.

Coming back into the scene with his new single “(i have jokes) If You Wanna Hear One” in collaboration with euphoric artist Benét, an exceptional trans talent from Richmond, Virginia, the duo unite ethereal melodies and flowing narratives into a sound of their own. Finding its origins on a simple, classical guitar, this new single was written the week Sea Glass’s son was born as a lullabye. He shares, “I liked the idea so much I decided to record it, but wanted to make it fit my production style. As I worked on it, I was more excited by its progress than anything else at the time. It took me 6 months of searching for a good top line when Benét offered to write on it. Their playful melody and lyrics just smashed the demo death loop I was in into smithereens. It came together very quickly from there. I had my close friend Jared Saltiel add live drums and the whole thing gelled together perfectly.”

Developing into a soundscape that perfectly encases the warmth and emotive catharsis that Sea Glass continues to showcase exponentially across his repertoire, “(i have jokes) If You Wanna Hear One” comes to life. Enveloping listeners with radiating harmonies, funky rhythms and rich soundscapes, this new single weaves elements of hope, optimism and escapism. Written during Sea Glass’s last few months in Brooklyn as he prepared to depart the city, he confides, "My son was just born and I was both thrilled to have this new love in our family but also overwhelmed with the added pressure that the responsibility brought. The music was a sort of escape from the moment, an idealized version of how I hoped things would go. It was written in the summer and there are definitely island vibes to the sounds, but the escapism I’m exploring in the music also makes this song relevant for any time of year.”

Sea Glass has been praised by the likes of Indie Shuffle, Wonderland Magazine, WFUV, Record of the Day, Variance Magazine, The Wild Honey Pie among others. Garnering over 250k streams on his last EP alone, he was interviewed on WFUV as a recipient of the Silver Sun Foundation Artists Residency in Woodstock, NY. He spent his time there working on his debut LP due out spring 2023. Needless to say, with a growing presence and more collaborations on the horizon, Sea Glass is set to have an impressive year!

Toronto-bred, UK-based singer/songwriter Melissa Bel transcends musical eras and genres with a voice that is timelessly soulful, yet distinctly fresh. Produced by Kaity Rae (The Shires, Liv Dawson, Natalie Shay), Alone Time is a collection of six tracks exploring themes of solitude, anxiety, dreaming and growth, with an overarching sense of hope weaving its way throughout. The wheels for the project started turning after Bel and Rae met during a virtual writing camp in the pinnacle of Lockdown, and their creative chemistry was instant. Taking to their respective home-studios, they worked mostly via Zoom to bring the project to life, forming an EP that would go on to be mixed by Jamie Sellers (Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Ronan Keating).

Setting the tone with lead single “Better In the Morning”, Bel reassures the listener (and herself) that things are going to be ok, with the title Alone Time offering an influential ode to the global pandemic. Finding familiar comfort in nature, she confides, “I spent lots of time walking in the countryside and I would come up with lyrics and concepts, or tweak ones we already had. I recorded the birdsong and some other nature samples that you hear throughout the EP on a couple of my walks, and went back to one of my favourite spots in the woods to shoot the artwork for "Better In the Morning.” It’s Bel’s hope that Alone Time accentuates the importance of slowing down, spending time in nature and appreciating the fleeting moments we have with our loved ones.

Throughout her career, Melissa Bel has performed across the world stage, opening for artists such as Kylie Minogue and Maverick Sabre. She co-wrote Avril Lavigne’s 2018 single “Tell Me It’s Over” and achieved a Top 10 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts with her song “If She Hadn’t Lied". Garnering airplay on BBC Radio, her music received humbling support from Apple Music, Amazon Music Canada, BBC Introducing across Surrey and Sussex, and even a no.1 spot on CIBL 101.5 Radio in Montreal. After the success of her critically-acclaimed 2021 release Daddy’ s Country Gold, Melissa Carper, dubbed “HillBillie Holiday” by friend and collaborator Chris Scruggs, was eager to get back in the studio. With co-producers Andrija Tokic (St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Hurray For The Riff Raff) and Dennis Crouch (The Time Jumpers) behind the boards again at Tokic’s analog paradise The Bomb Shelter in Nashville, Carper assembled that same crew of magical music makers - plus a few more - to embark on her newest effort, Ramblin’ Soul, set for release November 18th via Thirty Tigers.

Carper’s deep, old-timey music roots were firmly planted as a child, playing upright bass and singing in her family’s traveling country band in rural Nebraska. Her love of country classics was cultivated as she laid beneath the console listening to her parents’ record collection. Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, and more became the soundtrack of her youth. When Carper’s father gifted her a collection of Jimmie Rodgers’ recordings, she began to find her voice and calling as a songwriter. Carper attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on a music scholarship, and spent much of her time in the music library, instinctively drawn to the great jazz classics and jazz vocalists such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole. She also discovered Lead Belly, uncovering a deep well within when singing his songs.

After two years of college, wanderlust set in, and Carper hit the road in the family’s 1980 Dodge Maxi Van, and landed in historic Eureka Springs, Arkansas. There, she was welcomed into the busking community, and found a new home base—a place to write, reflect, and rejuvenate in years to come. As she belted out the lyrics to “Ramblin’ Man” life began to imitate art. Carper put a few hundred thousand miles on her vans and pick-up trucks, playing the streets and clubs of New Orleans, Austin, and even a stint in NYC as a founding member of The Maybelles. Magnetically pulled into the cultural heritage wherever she went, she immersed herself in the music of those who sang on those same street corners, and off the beaten path in times gone by.

Along the way, she founded award-winning bands like power trio The Carper Family, the perfect outlet for her unique skills and style. The band brought her original work to life in a simple yet dynamic fashion that also served her inspirations - country, bluegrass, western swing, and old- style jazz, playing festivals and shows across the globe, and on shows like “A Prairie Home Companion.” Carper also holds a spot in award-winning Arkansas foursome Sad Daddy, and founded roots duo Buffalo Gals with Sad Daddy bandmate and partner, award-winning fiddler Rebecca Patek.

In 2020, grappling with the loss of regular gigs, Carper and Patek moved to a friend’s farm near Austin, working in exchange for housing, organic vegetables, and fresh, country air.

“I had a handful of songs about rambling around and living a free life that I wanted to weave through the album,” Carper recalls. “I wrote the title track driving back home to Texas, and it felt like the seeds of the next album were planted.”

Juls is a pop singer/songwriter from Connecticut, who is creating a world radiating with starry eyes, ocean blues and true love. She explains, “I wrote the hook of this new song in my bedroom in Los Angeles last summer. I distinctly remember looking out my window and thinking about how heartbreak has a butterfly effect of sorts; people never break more hearts than when they are heartbroken because they often turn to others to ease their own pain. This person may simply be looking in another’s eyes to erase the haunting memory of the ones they are trying to forget.. in the process, the people with fresh eyes may become heartbroken and taint themselves in a cyclical and sorta achingly ironic way. So I decided to write a song about this cycle of heartbreak and heartbreaking, building off of this play on words to create the hook.”

With a throbbing baseline, Jul’s vocals roar atop stunning instrumentalism, reverberating with her synth-inspired euphoria. Reminding people of the magic in the small moments, she continues, “Music is amazing because it creates internal distance from the outside world and offers listeners a reprieve to clear their head and sink into a different moment or feeling. Shannon and Spence Koehler are men of The West. Californians through and through, the brothers know that the Golden State encompasses two halves; abundance and pain. Fruit and fire. Their latest sound flaunts that dichotomy. It’s what they describe as “If Ennio Morricone and T. Rex had a baby.” To that, I say, yep. You can’t help but imagine them jamming out in spandex and spurs.

Born out of both global and personal hardships, “On The Other Side” is an album of the heart. As the world was forced to look inward, so were the Foxes. Quite literally for Shannon, who underwent a painful open heart surgery (his second open heart surgery and fourteenth heart surgery in total). But, out of this pain came a sweeping soundscape that feels like both new territory and a return to roots.

The production of this album was a journey in itself: written by Shannon and Spence, rehearsed in their parents’ basement, recorded in studios and living rooms throughout The Bay, and mastered in Nashville. But through heartaches, hardships and harbingers of doom, the connecting force has always been love; brotherly love, romantic love and, of course, the unbridled love of rock music. They exude this love during their unmissable live shows and when Shannon takes the band out on tour, the world is better for it.

With contributions from their usual co-conspirators (you might even catch Spence on stage) and a bevy of new voices, the band continues its journey into the great void of the future. A little older and a little wiser, they’re pioneers searching for a new world. But along the way, the path is filled with fruit and fire.

Andrew Ash is an upcoming pop singer/songwriter from Portland, Oregon, who has a knack for fusing genres, whilst staying true to his pop roots. The artist has the vocals of Olly Alexander, the instrumentation of Phil Collins, and dance moves reminiscent of his icon, Britney Spears.

Andrew’s latest upbeat, smile inducing, 80’s inspired single ‘I Think I’m Ready for Love’ is the first to be taken from his forthcoming EP ‘Pep Talk’ and recently won the ‘Best Male Pop Song’ award from USA Pop Smash Radio. It’s an uplifting, toe-tapping pop-meets-dancehall track, complete with horns, a xylophone hook, playful synths, and a lot of La, La, La’s.

Andrew’s cheeky lyrics are based on his transition from being a commitment phobic ‘playboy’, to a fully committed gentleman who ‘won’t run away from a good thing’ or ‘sabotage’ his new relationship. The track is accompanied by a must-see music video that is literally filled with heart, and a highly TikTokable dance routine.

Speaking further about the track Andrew says: “I dated a lot in my 20’s, kissed a bunch of frogs, sabotaged my own relationships, felt an insane amount of heartbreak, feared commitment, I was all over the place. I then found someone who changed how I treated relationships, they made me a better person, they challenged me, they were the real deal, and they made me want to give up on my old ways, try harder, and lean into the commitment that I was so afraid of.”

Some of Andrew’s accolades include his music being featured on ‘The Hills’ and ‘‘The Jersey Shore’, and his most recent live performance was a heartfelt moment for him as a proud, openly gay man, which was in his hometown of Portland, Oregon, on the mainstage at PDX Pride. Andrew’s joyous live performances are a feel-good affair, with high energy and the perfect blend of wit, humor, good vibes and audience interaction. He will make you laugh; he will make you dance!

Her latest single “Running”, off of her upcoming EP Love is a Blessing is an acoustic, mellow ode to the story of a lost soul. With the EP consisting of five different love stories, her unique chronicles and an unparalleled approach to musicality are brought full circle, as she confesses, “Each song shows a different character from Mother Teresa of Love, the stalker to the psychopathic killer. 'Running' is a story of a lost soul seeking love but fighting with demons living in her head since she was very little. Co-produced with British indietronica singer-songwriter and producer James Yuill (Catz’n’Dogs, Mousse T, John Summit) and fully recorded in London in James’ studio, “Running” unites with echoing vocal energy, reverberating rhythms and melodious choruses to form a truly unique soundscape, filled with possessing emotions and an underlying vulnerability. She continues, “It talks about something that many people with a difficult past or a bit more complex personality struggle with. I know that everyone deserves to be loved but some people just don’t and ‘Running’ is the anthem for all the lost souls out there.” A raw and acoustic account of such creates a tune that soars with melancholy.

Fox’s musical journey sets her apart. pure xtc is Taylor Hughes, a queer multi instrumentalist, writing and recording music out of her home studio in Kansas City, MO. Inspiration for the project was sparked while Hughes was living in NYC in late 2020 beforehand. Shortly after, Hughes moved to Kansas City, MO where pure xtc quickly began turning heads with the release of her debut single Ghost in July 2021.

pure xtc’s unique brand of brooding electro-pop began circulating on radio stations across the US, Canada and beyond, including high praise from 90.3 The Bridge(NPR). Continuing to gain momentum, in August 2021 pure xtc performed for the first time at Kansas City’s Pride followed by the release of her debut EP, Nobody’s Home in November 2021.

Summer of ’22 started with the release of “shadow,” the single, for which Hughes is the writer, engineer and coproducer. The summer continued with pure xtc’s return to the main stage at PrideFest and opened up for Dashboard Confessional, Dayglow and Jenny Lewis at Boulevardia in June 2022.

With no sign of slowing down, pure xtc hit the east coast in July including a headlining show at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY. In September 2022 the artist will be releasing a hazy blood orange IPA in collaboration with Crane Brewing to celebrate her sophomore EP release, “shed my skin” that will be released track by track throughout the month of September, in conjunction with a west coast tour that ends with The Dinah in Palm Springs, CA with Fletcher.

PRODUCT is an Australian musician, singer, songwriter and record producer.

Right off the bat his debut single “TIRED OF THE BOYS” was featured on Spotify’s “Taurus” playlist in June 2020 for Pride Month by resident Astrologer for Oprah Magazine, Chani Nicholas, and received praise worldwide as a result.

Multiple collaborations and remixes with other artists followed, with several of them gaining placements by Apple Music on their official Glitch playlist. Collaborative projects with Burlington's tip/toe (including those under their duo name, lovenotes) gained PRODUCT a nod from PAPER Magazine for his production work with tip/toe on her “IPSHST” album. PRODUCT's 2021 remix of KUČKA's “No Good For Me” claimed the Runner Up prize in KUČKA and Metapop's official Remix This competition - awarding him some $20,000 worth of Native Instruments production software to continue creating with.

Long before glowing acclaim from NPR and Billboard, packed shows, unforgettable festival appearances, millions of streams, and collaborations with everyone from BTS to Kaboom Collective Orchestra, the journey of The Accidentals commenced in a public high school classroom in Traverse City, MI. As the story goes, concertmaster violinist, Savannah Buist, and cellist, Katie Larson, raised their hands at the request for volunteers to play a music boosters concert and wound up being musical soulmates.

bexx is a seriously exciting new talent in the UK pop scene. Her eclectic, euphoric alt-pop sound unabashedly draws from influences within 80’s synth-pop, pop-punk, classic rock, and current artists like Rina Sawayama and Lady Gaga.

Her latest single “Prettier” (out September 2) is a furious emotional gut punch, exploring self-hatred, body image, and objectification.

bexx says: “I wrote Prettier from a place of deep sadness and deep anger. It is my furious rebuttal to everyone who has made me feel less than because of the way I look - and writing it was deeply cathartic. I want Prettier to be an anthem for anyone who has had enough of feeling like they don’t measure up to society’s narrow standard of beauty.”

In a radical departure from previous releases, Prettier sees bexx explores elements of punk rock and hyperpop whilst still embracing her alt-pop sensibilites. With instrumentation that sounds just as furious as the lyrics, Prettier is inspired by classic bands like AC/DC and Motorhead as well as current heavy artists like Cassyette, Nova Twins and pop acts like Gaga and Rina Sawayama.

The release is accompanied by a remix (out Sep 14) from rising hyperpop artist and producer Tobre, who brings a fresh dose of unhinged ferocity to his take on Prettier. Tobre says: “Much of my production is inspired by the abrasive and energising sounds of melodic punk rock and metal, so I wanted to play with that to take the ferocity and chaos of Prettier to another level. The remix is a blend of my usual take on hyperpop production and sound design, mixed with distorted guitars and real drum samples.”

bexx will also host a launch party for Prettier at iconic London LGBTQ+ venue The Glory on September 1. This will see the premiere of the new track, plus support from exciting new queer artists. Genre-bending pop-rock artist FEAR OF MARKO and bubblegum pop atist Tobre, who has also remixed Prettier, will both perform on the night.

In 2022, bexx has headlined Nottinghamshire Pride and supported the likes of Fickle Friends and Deco on tour. With support from Wonderland, Earmilk, BBC Introducing and Rolling Stone, bexx is rapidly headed towards an exciting future, and it’s one you’ll want to be a part of.

Alex Hendrix is an experience curator, writer, mental health activist, singer-songwriter and entertainment personality. Born and raised in Huntsville, her Alabama roots and appreciation for macabre combine to create a voice steeped in dark humor and painted in Southern gothic undertones.

As a songwriter she was awarded the 2019 Pen Women Creative Spirit Award and was named a Downtown Huntsville Innovator of the Decade for her work as Executive Producer of the Downtown Huntsville Women in Music Weekend festival. 2019 also signaled the launch of her show, Alex Tries, a comedic approach to promoting local experiences. In 2021 she was a 256 Magazine Faces Under Forty honoree.

She has written for outlets such as The Scout Guide Huntsville, The Huntsville-Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Huntsville Music and is currently drafting her first large-scale fiction work.

Sid Seth is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who forms a blissful blend of soul and pop into his truly unique repertoire. Originally from Ahmedabad, Gujarat in India, he moved to New York five years ago to study at the Manhattan School of Music, and has been pursuing music in the city ever since.

Emerging sublimely into the scene, the musician is releasing his new single “Simple Yet True.” Written in the depths of lockdown, he found himself alone in New York without friends or family. He confides, “I was feeling lost in a once bustling city that had abruptly fallen silent. I started painting without thinking too much, and unexpectedly produced a long forgotten image from my childhood which immediately inspired me to write this song.”

Working alongside producer Kris Crawford (Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Josh Groban), and Grammy winning mastering engineer Alex Psaroudakis, his latest endeavor came to life. With compelling conceptual approaches, Sid continues, “I wasn’t sure what to do so I started painting. As a child, fine art was something I really enjoyed but I hadn’t held a brush for years. As I started mixing colors, I saw an image that took me back to childhood. It brought me immense joy as it was a forgotten memory with my family.” Growing up, his mom introduced him to The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Boney M and Abba, while Sid’s dad introduced him to the rhythm and melodies of Hindustani Music and Indian Classical music. Paired with the soul inspired tones of Michael Jackson and Ella Fitzgerald, Sid’s enriching sound can be attributed to his vast musical influences.

Exploring the idea that people find their own stories in art, “Simple Yet True” opens with the tender tones of an acoustic guitar. As a keen guitarist and pianist, Sid creates the perfect backing for his delicate vocal energy, as the track envelops with raw authenticity. As he sings, “If you look inside these waters lies hope”, his soul intertwines with intricate musicality and soulful-inspired pop. The warmth in his tone and the tremendous energy he possesses makes him a trailblazer of this time, with the familial comfort of art pathing the way for his resonating lyricism.

Sid has performed in various venues in New York City, such as the Bowery Electric, Feinstein’s 54 Below, and the Green Room, as well as multiple cities in India. Having recently graduated from the Manhattan School of Music, Sid has gained humbling acclaim from multiple critics and the likes of Opera News. Garnering thousands of streams across his repertoire, we are set to see extraordinary things in 2022 and beyond!
