Some Bible verses make you stop and say, “Jesus… I’m sorry, what?”

In John 6:53, Jesus says: “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.”

It sounds shocking, but Jesus is making a deeper point:

we all have a spiritual hunger.

If Jesus isn’t feeding you, something else is — success, approval, money, politics, comfort.

But those things are just empty calories.

Jesus says: “I am the bread of life.”

God is like a lifeguard who never fails, constantly watching over us, ready to save. We're all drowning in the pool of life, but through Jesus, we've been offered rescue and new life.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) These 26 words remind us that God's love isn't conditional—it's for the whole world, including you. Jesus didn't come to condemn us but to save us. Condemnation is not God's goal; salvation is.

This Lent, we're diving into the Gospel of John together. No matter where you are or what mistakes you've made, you are loved more than you can ever know. Nothing can separate you from God's love. Join us as we explore what it means to be fully saved and wholly loved.

We often keep a mental ledger of what others owe us. That insult. That betrayal. That hurt. We calculate the debt and wait for payback. But Jesus offers a radically different approach in Matthew 6:12: "Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." Forgiveness is not pretending nothing happened. It is releasing your right to retribution. It is choosing to let go of the demand that someone suffer as much as they made you suffer. This journey moves through three stages: from vengeance (wanting them to hurt like you hurt), to obedience (releasing the debt because Jesus says to), to transcendence (genuinely desiring the best for them). It takes time. It takes grace. But it sets you free.

In a world where we're constantly bombarded with information, news alerts, and social media content, it's no wonder anxiety levels are rising across all age groups. We spend an average of 46 hours a week on screens—essentially a full-time job of consuming content that often fuels our fears rather than our faith. We'll talk about distinguishing between acute anxiety (real, immediate problems) and chronic anxiety (future-based, hypothetical worries) and to recognize that God cares for us even more than He cares for the birds of the air.

Most of us have gotten lost at one time or another. Maybe we're too stubborn to use a GPS or ask someone for help. Sometimes being labeled lost is perceived as negative but what if it is less of a label and more a statement of fact? In Jesus' time he clashed with a group of religious leaders often around one issue: how to respond to "the lost." In Luke 15 he responds with three different stories that all end in a party. Why would anyone try to stop the party?

We all face temptations daily – from anxiety to procrastination, from overeating to social media addiction. We're not alone in this struggle. Even Jesus was tempted in the desert. The Lord's Prayer, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" reminds us that God is our greatest protector and rescuer. When evil lurks, inside or out, call on Him. He's always there, ready to guide us towards the light.
