I'm Ryan Holdeman and this is my grandpa. He's 95 years old and has spent his entire adult life courageously asking questions. He asks questions to learn and to challenge with a heart of joy and love. At 21 years old, he became a pastor of a Mennonite church. This would begin a long and winding road with stops as a husband, a father, in the Methodist church, as head of probation, and back into the pastor's chair in a couple of unaffiliated contexts. He still speaks every Sunday to a community of folks.

I've had the good fortune to have many one-on-one conversations with him through the years, and after a scary fall he took, I realized the time was now to capture some of our dialogue.

As he nears the end of his life, I realized I didn't want to miss the opportunity to capture some of his approach to life. How do we soak it all up?

In this first episode we cover a lot of ground.

The freedom that can be found by telling yourself the truth about your situation [3:39]

Learning from anyone, anywhere, anytime [10:06]

Helping others see their own wisdom [15:05]

Your mind is a garden and your thoughts need a gardener [17:52]

Shifting from spending time thinking about troubles [21:16]
