The Let's Go Racing Family highlighted their summer with a trip to the Windy City for the 2nd Annual Chicago Street Course (4th of July Weekend). This experience was a race fan's dream. Street racing at the highest level, with perhaps the most beautiful skyline in the world as a backdrop was just incredible. Our family was also interviewed by Telemundo Chicago and we talked about how excited we were to be in the City of Big Shoulders for NASCAR.

With the race experience, touring the city, baseball and all the fun things to do in Chicago, the Let's Go Racing Family have plenty to talk about.

A Tale of Two Races

The Let's Go Racing Family is back for a 5th season and what an episode!? When the #NASCAR 2024 season kicked off this year, in Daytona - we unexpectedly were invited to watch the year's biggest race - from the NASCAR Suite, after it was moved to a Monday night race.

We share our stories of what it was like to watch 800 miles of racing (Daytona 500 & Xfinity 300), as part of the Daytona Doubleheader.

While recording this episode - we were also watching the Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway - in what became a photo-finish of Daniel Suarez's photo finish. Let's just say, we may have been a bit excited to watch the electric finish.

65th Daytona 500 | 75th NASCAR Season

To kick off the 75th Anniversary of NASCAR, the Let's Go Racing Family was on location at the Daytona 500 for its 65th running. Our family had VIP access to pit road, inside the garage and hauler area...all before the Great American Race. #NASCAR75

We met up with several drivers...who were kind enough to autograph some merchandise - highlighted with a dream moment for our youngest family member, Johann - who met his NASCAR Legend, Jimmie Johnson for the very first time. Johann also had a cool moment, meeting up again with Brandon Marshal of I AM ATHLETE, who remembered our little guy because of his NASCAR knowledge. #JimmieJohnson #IAmAthlete #IAmNASCAR #BrandonMarshall

Sebastian returns with #6DegreesofNASCAR as he connects the star of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to NASCAR in less than 6 degrees of separation.

Before the cars came roaring down the start/finish line, fans in attendance were treated to the USAF Thunderbirds' show, all to commemorate the 65th running of the historic race. #USAFThunderbirds

NASCAR in the Music City | Year 2

The Let's Go Racing Family was on location for the 4th time this season...with a trip to the Music City. Summer kicked into high gear, as #NASCAR returned to Nashville, TN.

Watch as we take you on the grid, down pit road, inside the garage and hauler area, in Victory Lane and finally watching the action on the track unfold from the grandstands. We endured two weather delays (including rain and lightning) - which ultimately pushed the finish of the race into the evening. Johann would NOT be disappointed as he got to see his favorite driver, Chase Elliott take the Guitar and Checkered Flag.

The Let's Go Racing Family #NASHCAR experience didn't end there, as we returned to the track later in the week to record our episode on-location, just outside the main grandstands. Later that evening - for the one day only event, we screened the documentary film, ROWDY, about the Candy Man, himself - Kyle Busch. Naturally, when in Nashville, when you go to the movies, you go the Opry Mills and that's where we gave our review of this film.

The Greatest Race Day of the Year | NASCAR Coca Cola 600

The greatest day in racing (the Sunday before Memorial Day) was that and more for the Let's Go Racing Family because we experienced the Coca Cola 600 in person for the first time. We had unprecedented access for our family - pit road, garage and haulers, the infield and finally getting to watch from high atop the Charlotte Motor Speedway in a Suite. Let's just say this will be a #NASCAR experience we will never forget.

In this extended episode, we recorded on-location, just outside Turn 2 and discuss our first-hand experience of the event and also preview our coming week in Charlotte - highlighted with a visit to the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Race Team Shops.

Talladega: The Ballad of the Melon Man

The Spring 2022 #NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway was in many ways The Ballad of the Melon Man, because for the 2nd time in his career and this season - Ross Chastain brought his #1 Chevrolet Camaro to victory lane. When NASCAR races at Talladega, it's impossible to forget the Hollywood blockbuster Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - so for a special #6DegreesofNASCAR pop-culture, Sebastian discusses how the movie plays homage to the great superspeedway. NASCAR Dirt Racing at Bristol Motor Speedway

For the first time since 1989, the #NASCAR Cup Series raced on Easter Sunday. This time it was a return to the successful Dirt Racing experiment at Bristol Motor Speedway. Despite a couple of rain delays, the racing was solid, competitive and packed with action as the laps wound down.

Perhaps our most exciting #RaceReactions segment to date, we reacted to the exciting and unexpected finish. Let's just say Kyle Busch may have "backed into a win."

Our #6DegreesofNASCAR segment returns, as Sebastian connects actor, Charlton Heston to NASCAR in less than 6 degrees of separation. Finally, we looked forward to the banks of Talladega Superspeedway, with our #RacePicks.

Winless in 2022, No More | Hamlin Takes Richmond

This past week, #NASCAR racing returned to Richmond Raceway - where Denny Hamlin hit the restart button on his season. Although the race was dominated by two drivers, Ryan Blaney (led 128 laps) and William Byron (led 122 laps)...it was Denny Hamlin who piloted his #11 to victory lane. This week’s #RaceReactions segment starts out with 10 to go and William Byron leading the race, which we already know is NOT where he finished.

In a special look back, we recall our race experience from 6 years before at the same track - when we watched Carl Edwards bump his then teammate on the last turn of the last lap - to win the 2016 Toyota Owners 400. What makes that race even more memorable for our family, we recorded Sebastian’s raw reaction - as he saw his favorite driver, Kyle Busch, go from leading the race to being bumped out of the lead on the last lap. Although it wasn’t the result he wanted…Sebastian’s raw emotional reaction was a great example of how much our family loves NASCAR. Finally, we look forward toward the Martinsville race, with our #RacePicks for the following week.

More Banking and More Speed at Atlanta

For the second time this year, the Let’s Go Racing Family attended the Cup Series race in person and then recorded their newest episode, just steps from the track. This time at Atlanta Motor Speedway. #NASCAR

To kick off our weekend of fun on Friday night, we drove on the new track and experienced firsthand, the steeper banking that the Cup Series drivers would race on. Then on Sunday, we took in the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 from high atop the Petty Tower. We witnessed all the excitement of a much more competitive race - due to the new race track. From the drop of the green flag, to the home crowd cheering when Chase took the lead and finally those intense last laps - the fan enthusiasm was palpable. It was a successful day for NASCAR because this re-configured track and new car brought new fans to the sport, including some we met while setting up for the podcast, Jada April Brown. Just like us, she had a great time!

We could not have asked for a better way to end our Spring Break!

It’s Vegas Baby - NASCAR style

Seems like these unpredictable finishes are going to continue with NASCAR and the Next Gen car. It looked like Kyle Busch was going to win for the 2nd time in his career at his hometown track. Unfortunately for him, a late caution came out - bringing the field back together for a 2 lap shootout. The Return to SoCal

For the 2nd time in February, NASCAR returned to Southern California…this time for a 400 mile points paying race at Auto Club Speedway. This week’s #RaceReactions segment starts out with a lot of excitement, as Chase Elliott spins bringing the field back together for a 4 lap shootout. There were some unexpected names up front, late in the race - which bodes well for more competitive finishes with the new car, throughout the year.

Kyle Larson takes home the win…but not before Daniel Suarez makes a run (actually leading with 3 laps to go) at his first Cup Series win. We are positive there’s more of those types of finishes in Daniel’s future this year.

Attending the Daytona 500

The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season kicks into high gear with an exciting Daytona 500. Our family attended this year’s race in person AND even recorded this week’s episode, just steps away from The World Center of Racing. We witnessed history as Austin Cindric won his rookie debut at The Great American Race. Bubba Wallace proved that his win at Talladega was no fluke - because he brought home his #23 in 2nd place…nearly winning it all. Happy Birthday Roger Penske - as his organization won their 3rd Daytona 500.

NASCAR 2022 Pre-Season Special

We return for Season 3 of the Podcast, with a pre-season special. It was an exciting episode talking about how NASCAR emphatically started the year with a bold move - hosting The Clash at LA’s famed Coliseum.

That’s a Wrap for NASCAR 2021

Let the Playoffs Begin at Darlington

The NASCAR Playoffs started with a bang, with the first round race at Darlington Raceway this past week. More than half the playoff field ran into major trouble with incidents on the track. With the exception of a couple of drivers (Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr - who were able to recover), those other drivers now have the added pressure of needing to win to advance into the next round.

The summer movie season concluded this past weekend with the release of MARVEL’s newest superhero franchise Shang-Chi..where there was an unexpected NASCAR reference by actress, Awkwafina. So no better time than for another installment of 6 Degrees of NASCAR.

Treated like VIPs at Daytona for the Regular Season Finale

What a weekend for the Let’s Go Racing Family!?! Not only did we get to watch the summer night race at the World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway, our family was treated like VIPs before and during the race. After the checkered flag waved, it was a Team Penske driver that solidified his place as a Championship favorite...but probably not the one you were thinking about.

We talk about how our special race experience began with a tv sports show interview and then later found ourselves high atop Daytona, talking NASCAR and our Podcast with Brandon Marshall AND the President of NASCAR. Finally, we look forward to next week’s race at Darlington Raceway, Round 1 of the NASCAR Chase for the Championship.

Last Race Before Olympic Break

Too Fast Two Pocono

The Return of NASHCAR

The #NASHCAR experience is when NASCAR meets one of the coolest cities in America, Nashville. Home to not only music history, but also to some of our closest friends, who we get to introduce NASCAR.

In this week's episode we talk about our first-hand experience at the Nashville Superspeedway - first NASCAR race in Nashville in over 10 years. For our Racing Through Life segment, we interview our friends about their very first NASCAR race and learn about another side to Nashville, most people don't know about.

On the track, Kyle Larson continued his mid-season dominance, literally driving away from the competition. A Rookie Wins NASCAR's Run for the Roses

We saw a first at Kentucky, a Rookie taking the checkered flag. The last 30 laps were arguably some of the most exciting laps this season - with 4 different leaders, 2 restarts and a last lap pass by the surprising winner. It was the NASCAR equivalent of the Run for the Roses.

As NASCAR prepares for their All Star Race in Thunder Valley, this week’s 6 Degrees of NASCAR Tony will connect the god of Thunder, THOR (Chris Hemsworth) to NASCAR in less than 6 Degrees of Separation. 4th of July Weekend at The Brickyard

The NASCAR Cup Series raced this 4th of July Weekend at the historic Brickyard (Indianapolis Motor Speedway - July 5th). Until a late caution, it seemed like this race would end up, as a replay of last week's Pocono race, with Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick finishing 1 and 2. Unfortunately for Denny, he’ll have to wait another year for a chance at winning at the famed track.

Seems like everyone is talking about Hamilton - the Broadway hit that has taken the streaming world by storm. What a Finish at Talladega!

In this episode, we talk about probably the most exciting race of the year to date, with a finish for the ages. When a car finishes in 3rd place by crossing the finish line backwards (Almirola), there’s not a better example of how exciting racing can be at Talladega Superspeedway. Ryan Blaney won his 2nd Talladega race in a row, by edging out Ricky Stenhouse Jr at the finish line.

This week’s 6 Degrees of NASCAR features the voice of Detective Pikachu (Pokeman), Ryan Reynolds. Finally, in our Racing Through Life segment, we discuss how the NASCAR community reacted when it was first thought Bubba Wallace was targeted with an act of racism. Although it was later revealed that he wasn’t targeted, the symbolic reaction of support will go a long way in demonstrating how important it is to be an ally of those being oppressed.

Two Races in One Week - Part 3

In this episode, we discuss another week of two cup races in less than 5 days. Martin Truex Jr. won the historic night race (first time under the lights) at Martinsville Speedway. Then for the first time in years, there was a race at Homestead-Miami Speedway that did not crown a champion. The first in-season race since 2001, saw Denny Hamlin dominate with all three stage wins and leading the most laps. This race also featured another on-track run-in between Chase and Joey Logano - giving credence to their budding rivalry.

For the first time in over 2 months - we had real racing to talk about - with Kevin Harvick taking a historic checkered flag at Darlington Raceway - his 50th Cup Series win (now 12th all time).

Special Wednesday Night Cup Series races coming up over the next two weeks - with a quick return to Darlington and then moving onto the Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend.

The North Wilkesboro Speedway special wraps up the iRacing Pro Invitational series - as NASCAR looks toward its first live cup races beginning Sunday (May 17). Denny Hamlin book-ended his series run with the first and last wins across the virtual track circuit.

Monster Mile - Dover Speedway iRacing

Although this was an “off-week” for NASCAR due to Easter Week-end - we had lots to talk about. NASCAR Hall of Fame announced nominees for the class of 2020, including two all time favorites (Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Carl Edwards). We also talked about “rage-quitting” and how we’ve probably all been a little guilty of this before.
