After failing high school, Israel fell into a career as an actor - landing a role on Home & Away and starring in a feature film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

At 23, he was offered the Hollywood dream by one of the worlds biggest agencies… and chose to walk away.

Instead, he picked up a guitar and spent years writing songs, touring, and couch-surfing around the world supporting artists like Passenger, Bastille, and Ben Howard.

His music eventually found its way into film and television, scoring campaigns for brands including Google and Great Northern Brewing Co.

Through every chapter of his life, one thing remained constant: a love for storytelling.

That passion eventually led him to trade his guitar case for a camera.

After thousands of hours teaching himself how to film, edit, direct, and market, Israel began helping companies around the world tell stories that actually drive results.

Since then he has served as Global Marketing Director for a $20M+ company, co-founded and sold multiple businesses, directed an award-winning documentary (Fish Out Of Water), and built Better Brands - a boutique storytelling agency helping purpose-driven companies grow through strategy, video, and digital marketing.

On this podcast, Israel sits down with entrepreneurs, creatives, athletes, and deep thinkers to explore the ideas behind building a meaningful life and meaningful work.

Because building a great business isn’t just about strategy.

It’s about curiosity, courage, creativity, and the willingness to take an unconventional path.

This podcast is a space to explore the intersection of storytelling, business, creativity, family, and personal growth - and to learn from the people who are brave enough to build something that matters.</itunes:summary>

Life Of Play

https://life-of-play.captivate.fm

<itunes:image href="https://artwork.captivate.fm/2216650c-526f-4e3d-b2fc-bc523ee5ed43/Life-Of-Play-podcast-cover-art.jpg"/><itunes:owner><itunes:name>Israel Cannan</itunes:name></itunes:owner><itunes:author>Israel Cannan</itunes:author>
Israel Cannan is a storyteller, brand builder, entrepreneur and most importantly, a dad and husband.
