Rabeinu explains that Eretz Yisrael on the surface level seems completely like every other country, and there’s absolutely no difference. The same is true of the comparison between the Tzadikim / upright people and the rest of the world. But the emet la’amito / ultimate truth is that its holiness is not even to be compared! It’s so extremely lofty!

Torah 117 Tinyana: Rabeinu explains why a person might experience a nocturnal emission when drawing close to holiness or to the true tzadik etc…

Rabeinu says not to be confused by this at all…

Rabeinu also discusses the great holiness of the Kivrei Tzadikim / burial places of the true tzaidkim and explains that they have the literal holiness of the Land of Israel.

Rabeinu also talks about the simplicity of free will, about prayer being the primary way to draw close to G-d, encouraging oneself to never give up, experiencing a glimmer of G-d, the tremendous blemish that immoral thoughts cause, and being clear headed in serving G-d walking in a certain path for long periods of time!

Rebbe Nachman emphasizes this practice as being the ultimate way to be a truly upright and holy individual.

Torah 93: The reason why people have machloket/argument on Rebbe Nachman is because his entire task in this world was bringing people closer to true prayer, and prayer stands at the summit of the world! “That which stands at the summit is degraded by the sins of man.”

Torah 94: When one goes to the true Tzadik for Rosh Hashana, he brings together the 3 different “heads,” accomplishing an awesome tikkun!

Torah 95: Rabeinu explains that one should pray with true sincerity to the point where one merits to cry genuinely before G-d, like a son before his father. But one must make sure not have the thought of wanting to cry in the back of your mind, because that too is not genuine. The only way to properly do this is to concentrate your mind on the words that are emerging out of your mouth, and with ease you’ll arouse true tears!

Rabeinu explains that the true Tzadik’s entire task is to elevate the common people, who represent limited consciousness/lower wisdom, to the aspect of upper wisdom/ G-d and the Torah. The way he does so is by speaking with these people about mundane events and worldly conversations…

How does one actualize Da’at? By going to the Tzadik/the man of true Da’at to listen to him give a Torah!

Torah 90: Rabeinu explains why we break an earthenware vessel at the time when an engagement is finalized!

Rabeinu explains that these kavanot of Elul are propitious to find one’s soulmate, and to instill within his partner a desire for him.

Rabeinu gave this awesome secret to Eliezer, his servant, when he went on the journey to find Yitzchak’s soulmate…

Look at lesson 6 of Likutei Moharan, analyze it, and practice what is written there to truly accomplish this rectification.

Torah 88: Rabeinu teaches us that one must be very very careful not to eat fruits that aren’t fully ripened! As long as the fruit is not yet ripe, it has the power of sucking in nutrients… when you cut the fruit off the tree before it’s ripe, it still has the power to suck in, and therefore can suck the vitality of the soul who’s eating the fruit!

One who’s strong in serving G-d can find lost items in the fruit he eats…

One who makes a blessing on the fruit he eats with proper concentration and fear of Heaven can save himself from this damage.

Rabeinu teaches us that there is an angel that has many deputies under it which all hold shofars and dig for lost items. They blow a Tekiah, Teruah, and then a Tekiah and make a great uproar and celebration when they find a lost item.

Both of these lessons are extremely connected and have tremendous secrets hidden in them! May we have the merit to understand them and apply them b”H!

Torah 86: When people are of little faith, they require difficult acts of G-dly service, like fasting…

Torah 81 Tinyana: When one performs a mitzvah with such joy that the joy reaches the feet and makes this person dance, he’s able to elevate all the concepts that are relevant to the feet (money, bad speech, Torah supporters, faith, the woman…)

Teshuva enables one to nullify time entirely, elevating time within the aspect of “beyond time.” Once a person does teshuva, he strengthens the voice of holiness and weakens the voice of Esav, the voice of evil! We also learn that the essence of true teshuva is dependent on the holiness of one’s thoughts. Also, all suffering and judgements are because we exist under the realm of timed but once we do teshuva and nullify time, we thereby nullify suffering and the grasp of the evil side!

Meaning that anyone who merits attaining holy mentalities (tefillin) has to also accept this fear (strap) with it, as fear and wisdom are dependent upon each other. And this fear devolves into suffering! So we see that the greater one’s mentalities are, the greater his suffering must be.

BUT, Rabeinu teaches us how to sweeten this suffering and ensure our suffering doesn’t devolve from fallen fears/the evil strap. How? By eating with fear of Heaven and holiness, one is able to draw the Fear of G-d, which stands next to him during mealtime, in himself. With this, he’s able to sweeten the suffering, to elevate his mouth into the category of man , and elevate his mouth even higher into the aspect of the Supernal Man, where the Divine Presence speaks through this person!

Torah 74: Rabeinu teaches us how Purim is a preparation for Pesach, especially the reciting of the portion of the Para (which is read on the Shabbat following Purim).

”All the beginnings started from Pesach, but now… (all the beginnings start from Purim)”

Torah 75: Rabeinu explains the benefit of merely looking at the faces of true Tzadikim. Rabeinu also teaches us how the Talmid Chacham is even greater than the Torah!

There’s an intellect so high where time is completely nullified and isn’t considered anything at all! We see this with the Mashiach, when G-d tells him “you are my son, today I gave birth to you” (Psalms 2).

This is evident in a dream as well: it can seem to a person that he went through 70 years in a dream but once he wakes up he realizes it’s only been 15 minutes. This is because during sleep, our intellect is taken away and all we have is the imagination, but once our intellect is returned to us, we realize that it’s only been an actual 15 minutes. This same understanding applies to time when it comes to those with very very lofty intellects. The greater your intellect is, the more time is contracted…

Torah 58: The greater the Tzadik and his ability to nullify himself/to attain AYIN-nothingness, the more he is able to pay attention and engage with the world (unlike what others say that when a tzadik is so big he has nothing to do with the rest of the world).

Torah 59: Sometimes a person can be hasty and win, and sometimes a person can be hasty and lose…

Depending on whether a person grows up in holiness from his youth or not will depend how fast he should act in serving G-d…

Torah 50: One cannot have 2 thoughts at the same time, and one must direct his thoughts in the proper direction, just like we redirect a horse with reins when he strays off the right path!

Torah 51: We must be stubborn against the evil inclination, which is constantly knocking in us many times over to encourage us to sin… but one who’s stubborn and strong will ignore the evil inclination and by default, it will vanish.

Torah 52: It is necessary that people raise questions against the tzadikim because they emulate their Creator. And the Creator Himself is so exalted and above the grasp of our minds that it’s fitting for G-d that people raise questions on Him, considering that NOBODY understands His ways!

This crucial lesson is Rabeinu giving all of those people who truly want to serve G-d the fundamental advice on how to be strong when it gets tough! Rabeinu explains that it’s the way of HASHEM to show a person rejection when he wants to come close to Him. The main thing is not discourage yourself and to be mentally strong.

Rabeinu teaches us that we have to encourage ourselves constantly, and not even let G-d Himself discourage us, when it feels as if He wants nothing to do with us… because the truth is, G-d is ultimately merciful and finds our service very very precious!

Rabeinu also discusses obstacles, and how obstacles are actually just a complete illusion of the mind! We must not pay attention to anyone standing in the way of holiness and drawing close to G-d.

He also teaches us that when a person is overcome with doubts and difficulties, we must look up and scream to G-d from the depths of our heart.

Torah 47: Rabeinu explains the dangers of giving a Torah lesson, and discusses what type of mastery a person must have before he does so: he must be able to weigh his words so that every person only grabs what he needs to hear, not more or not less!

Rabeinu explains that the klipot/husks take all the excess Torah that doesn’t enter the person listening and nourishes itself off of that Torah… but Rabeinu gives us advice on how to diminish these husks, even the husks that nourish itself off the body of the Torah…

Torah 42: Rabeinu connects the verse in the Torah which says “ For I am G-d your healer” to the infamous phrase of “Amen, May it be His will”

Torah 43: Rabeinu says that when a person has a faint heart, he is beset with fears…

This is a very fundamental Torah for anyone who wants to come close to G-d! Study it very closely!

Torah 45: Rabeinu explains that as long as a person is within the bounds of the circles that surround the inner point, which is Shabbat/the Tzadik, one still has hope of being able to draw close to that inner point, but once one leaves the boundaries of these circles, then he has no hope of drawing close…

Rabeinu teaches us the most amazing Torah connecting Divine Providence, the eyes, tefillin, the kibbutz of Rosh Hashana, wisdom, attaining the eyes of G-d, and many other lofty ideas.

Rabeinu also emphasizes the importance of being with the true tzadik on Rosh Hashana, and this Torah is just a mere glimpse of the awesome rectifications that take place!

One must constantly long to understand the inner depths of every single creation and analyze how to serve G-d through it!

But King David, upon him be peace, did everything to serve G-d in this world without any desire for this world or the world to come, but only to serve G-d for His sake alone! This is the level everyone must strive for!

Torah 38: There are times when the tzadik will travel to his students and there are times when the students travel to him. The greater one is when when the bigger person travels to the smaller. Why? Because the Tzadik’s light is so great that it cannot be received by the student if the student comes to the Tzadik… so the tzadik must lower himself by going to the small person in order to minimize the light for the small person to receive it!

Torah 35: Rabeinu explains why it’s fitting for those who study Torah to know future events before they actually happen.

Torah 36: Rabeinu teaches us that they’re holy books with such light, that once they are printed and binded together, the light and holiness of the book are concealed and hidden!

Torah 32: Rabeinu discusses why there are great Tzadikim and even hidden tzaidkim who hide their lessons from the world, and why they have teachings that are written down but burnt and lost.

But by performing a pidyon, we annul the Heavenly judgement, and until a new judgment arises, this sick person can be healed by this doctor and by the medicine he sees fit because there is no decree which obliges this person to be sick for this amount of time anymore…

Torah 284: One time a person came to Rabeinu complaining that he had no time to engage in Torah because of business. Rabeinu told him that a person must “steal” time from work to study.

Torah 285: When a person tastes the Torah of the true tzadik, that light will always remain by him even at the time when he’s far away and distant from the Tzadik.

Rabeinu explains this in the context of the verse written in Proverbs 31.

Torah 286: The essential pleasure of Gan Eden is the upper and lower wisdom of G-dliness one attains if he merits to enter Gan Eden. But to enter, one needs to enter via the gates of Gan Eden. These gates, though, have been submerged in the earth and in order to raise these gates form the earth, one needs to study Jewish Law/Halacha!

Rabeinu teaches us that in order for a person to attain true joy, to do teshuva, and not to fall into sadness/give up completely, he must judge himself positively! One has to find a good point within himself, and continue finding more and more good points… and even if you see there’s ulterior motives and flaws within the good action you did, dig deeper and you’ll find that there’s a point of good that is completely pure.

Just as we must do this to ourselves constantly, we have to judge others to the side of merit as well… even the completely wicked person. By doing this, we are able to tilt the scale of judgment for this wicked person from guilt to merit!

Rabeinu also teaches us that this concept of finding the good points is the aspect of making melodies and songs.

Rabeinu also teaches us about the chazan/shliach tzibur and that only one who is engaged in finding the good within every Jew is truly worthy of leading the congregation during prayer.

Rabeinu explains that Moshe is the faithful shepherd, and in every generation there are Tzadikim that are the aspect of Moshe. Each one of these Tzadikim builds a mishkan, from which the “infants in the house of the Rabbis” receive their pure breath.

Torah 279: Rabeinu explains the differences between how Torah lessons are given over, either from the bottom up or from the top down. Rabeinu connects this to the Shofar and how this is significant with regard to King David’s prayers.

Torah 280: Rabeinu teaches us why a person is compelled to seek a ruling before judges in a court of law.
