Her story is not long sadly, but it is beautiful . We spent some time diving deep into the life and legacy of Venus Xtravaganza. A trans woman who became a poignant figure in the ballroom scene of 1980s New York. Reflecting on her tragic murder just four days from Christmas. The impact of her life, as documented in the influential film "Paris is Burning." Venus's story is a stark reminder of the harsh realities faced by the trans community during the 80's NYC. At it's core there are obstacles, communication and hurdles to overcome. being able to see all the pieces on stage at a live venue and see it all play out is in incredible. It goes shows that art, such as a band is a complex task to partake in and make as a career and primary income.

Today, I had the pleasure of interview After the Sunset, a rock band based in South Florida. The band consists of the following members: Bryan on guitar, Nally on vocals, Jonathan on lead guitar, Daniel on bass and Elizabeth on drums. Based in Miami Fl, there another level musicians, artists and instrumentalists. Giving late 90s vibes heavy, with smooth riffs and drums. American Groove - #45 Growing Pains

Growing pains, for Karissa has been an issue for the past year or so. Her shoulder injury due to overworking at salon with way to many appointments each day. Sometimes 20 clients for sugar waxing, which is crazy for one person to handle. She had to endure this work ethic to get a pay check covering basic necessities. Fast forward to now, its grown to neck pain. With all the endurance she pushes thru, and works forward. Even with life's difficulties.

Growing pains, for Dave was coming out of a corporate job which had a mental strain, stress and anxiety. Now, dealing with no reliable income. On the flip side, now working in the food industry once again in a gastro-bar. He doesn't feel like himself, lost and confused. The biggest struggle so far is mental clarity; which sounds easy but isn't. Overing coming these obstacle's is his specialty. What gets him thru every day is doing things he loves "podcasting n' cooking".

In South Florida the artist community can be more restrictive than other places. You have a large latino and cuban scenes in Miami area one of the largest in the music industry here in the US. The issue is there isn't enough diversity. In So-Flo artists doing interesting things. Or doing a completely different genre is not a common practice. There isn't enough of audience look for that experience; that's what's thought.

Today, I interview Brennan Jasso aka Brennan and the Sun. He's from So-Flo and a talented singer/songwriter. The difference, he isn't doing what other artists doing. His music is a cross between David Bowie and Prince with a big dash of latin spice.

There's something so beautiful about music that's unique. Not only that, but its going out of the box not following what other artists are going towards. Knowing your taking difficult route because this is the music you want to make. presenting it with love and honesty.

I myself have grown accustom to being inhuman. living in a situation where every morning your awake at 6:50 AM; in your car to be at work by 9:00 AM. The same routine 5 days a week, and its over and over again. For me working a corporate job, has cause mental issues. Such as, stress and constant reliant on stimulants to stay awake.

This doesn't apply to everyone. When dealing with creative minds, artists and dreamers. Its not an ideal solution; even with all the pay check and benefits. I myself can longer handle the stress, and I'm happy I severed my ties with corporate. Its not an easy way of living, but being free to be me is worth more.

The current situation the state of israel is questionable. What I mean is everyone has the option and the side there choosing to be on. The reality is, over there civilians citizens of Palestinian authority and Israel. Its chaos, watching the whole world think this a game of chess.

Today I brought on a friend, citizen and currently living on the israeli side. She has worked with Palestinians and Israelis. We need to stop pointing the finger and understand this. This war is about civilians their families, jobs and land. This is not about who is right here.

If you care about humanity, and want to help the situation. Stop pointing the finger and help out all the people that are there right now are dealing with there loss.

One of the hardest things to accept in the artist worlds is loss of talented artist/creator. We as a society tend to have a grim view on celebrity's; due their money, power and influence. Even if this is the case, it doesn't take away from the incredible work they have made over the years. One example, is Matthew Perry a talented actor, that had a lot of personal issues like any artist.

What we as artists can learn from someone else is all apart of the creative process. Through out this episode, we had Matthew as our primary topic. Again no matter what kind of artist, if your inspired and you can learn something from that person that's the key. We try and stay neutral when it comes to politics. Being that the recent terrorist attack that took place in Israel by Hamas. We can't stay silent. Dave has most of his family there, and more important where are the people in this conversation. What took place is tragedy, and crime again innocents. All this bloodshed for a right, a privilege and takes what's ours by any means.

The best way we can help the people right now, is raise awareness share perspectives. Realising this is humanitarian issue and not a conflict of interest. Our hearts and prayers go out to all the families, loved ones and soldiers. In Hebrew we say "Am Yisrael Chai" which translates to "The people of Israel Live" and that means all the people.

On this weeks episode, we talked about "the Karen" only this time it was an experience in person. The amount of videos on social media about the so called "Karen" is immense. But, we never actually stop, and wonder what happened? Before the recording, and what happened after; we never get to see that unfold. When Dave went to Publix, and saw this woman called a "Karen" and later finding her crying in at the exit is sad and odd.

What happens is, our attention span is next to nothing, so we don't actually know what where seeing. All were getting is a short clip of someone else's, reality not yours. And the simple truth, is experiencing life in reality, and not behind screens. You get something that you don't get when someone shows one version of the story.

Once again, the topic of our discussion revolves around extraterrestrial beings. This time, let's focus on a story from Mexico that happened a few weeks ago. A journalist presented humanoid mummified creatures to the Mexican congress, claiming to have had a mexican scientist test the DNA of these creatures in Mexico. At this point NASA and Neil Degrasse Tyson have their questions and are all saying the same thing. All the branches of science need to test these supposed extraterrestrial bodies and see if they are from another world.

We paused at the end to reflect on our lives and reconsidered our success. We discovered that it is possible to be successful and happy, even when work is demanding.

The attack that took place in Caesers palace in August dig deep and ask the obvious question how could they let something like this happen.

No sirens or warnings were given when the fires happened. It's strange how in situations like these, we can learn a lot by observing and considering all perspectives. And asking all the questions.
