Harry sets up his spell and waits for an attack to start. Rawlins comes to check in and Nelson calls to ask Harry for his help. After Harry takes a break and resets the spell, an attack begins.

Proven Guilty Chapter 25 Summary:

Harry is successfully able to deflect the phobophages from attacking, all except for one. He finds the attacking phage and manages to stop it, but not before it has killed people and caused mass panic. After Murphy gains control of the scene, Harry and Rawlins go to track the remaining phages, but are apprehended by Glau and Darby Crane.

Dresden and Butters return to the Forensic Institute to find any information they can. Butters gets a look at Bartleby’s body which has been cut up and eviscerated. While Butters is performing the examination of Eduardo Mendoza, Bartlesby’s research assistants show up to claim his possessions, one of which Harry discovers is a ghoul. Harry rejoins Butters and finally recognizes Mendoza as Bony Tony the smuggler who has been hiding a thumb drive in his stomach.

Dead Beat Chapter 15 Summary:

Harry and Butters leave for Billy’s apartment to examine the USB drive. While they check the drive, Harry checks his phone messages to find out Murphy has safely made it to Hawaii and that Shiela from Bocks thinks something is wrong at the store. After finding out the content of the drive, Harry asks Billy to take Butters back to his apartment.

Georgia and Billy lend Harry her SUV after driving him back to his newly abused Blue Beetle. Harry calls on Mortimer and asks him for the assistance of the spirits to find the necromancers. Mort declines until he finds out that Murphy is involved. Mortimer calls upon the spirits and they find not only one Necromancer but six.

Harry commands Bob to recall the memories to find out just how twisted the wicked wizard's influence had been. Harry and Bob continue to talk about Kemmler after Harry commands Bob to never again recall the memories he just revealed.

We discuss Chapter 41 where Madge invites an old buddy of Harry's to the sex cave of doom, Murphy break dances in a circle, and Thomas is dramatic.

Blood Rites Chapter 41 Summary:

Harry distracts Raith to allow Murphy to break the magic circle and partially free Thomas. Harry is able to disarm Madge and Raith before they can complete the Entropy spell and the summoning of He Who Walks Behind, and Madge is killed by the partially summoned demon. Harry taunts Raith into admitting he is close to powerless in front of a hiding Lara who decides to take advantage of this information and seizes power. Dresden, Murphy and Thomas escape, and Harry lets Thomas know Justine is alive giving him the will to continue to live.

Blood Rites Chapter 40 Summary:

Raith brings Murphy and Dresden into the Deeps where he divulges the details of his evil plan. Madge and Trixie are present as well but Trixie is thrown to her death in the cavern. Raith goes to investigate the sirens while Madge begins the entropy curse. While Madge is busy with the curse, Dresden and Murphy free themselves and make a plan. When Raith returns Dresden launches a surprise attack but Raith survives and kills all of the lights.

Blood Rites Chapter 38 Summary:

Murphy and Dresden ride her Harley towards the Deeps but are intercepted by a security vehicle. Dresden uses his magic to decimate their opponents in the style of magical medieval jousting. The pair get to the area of the Deeps when Lord Raith ambushes them and takes Murphy and Dresden hostage.

Blood Rites Chapter 39 Summary:

Once inside the cave, Murphy attempts to strike at Raith but even in a weakened state, Lord Raith exercises complete control of Murphy and subdues her.

Blood Rites Chapter 36 Summary:

Dresden tries to contact Thomas but finds out that he’s been kidnapped by Raith’s goons. Harry goes on to contract with Lara to help him find Thomas in exchange for her takeover of the White Court.

Blood Rites Chapter 37 Summary:

Murphy and Harry meet Lara at Chateau Raith along with Inari and Bobby who go to retrieve a just barely alive Justine. Justine is able to point out to them that Thomas is being kept in chains at the Deeps. The group is ambushed by one of the guards leaving Bobby and Inari out of commission. Harry and Murphy head off for the Deeps while Lara makes arrangements for the injured parties.

Murphy, Kincaid and Dresden discover a closet of chained up children, trapped with a bomb in the basement of the Shelter. While Murphy and Kincaid try to disarm the bomb, Mavra presents herself and her little flame throwing friends.

Blood Rites Chapter 33 Summary:

The group is attacked by Mavra and her Thralls. Harry is able to save the group using his shield and then a wind spell to throw the fire from the flamethrowers back on the attackers, but at the expense of one of his hands. They finally defeat Mavra and rescue the children.

Ebenezar picks up Murphy and Dresden. In route to meet Kincaid in Cabrini-Green, Harry updates Murphy on the Black Court Vampires information from Bob. Once there, Murphy and Dresden go first to meet Kincaid and prepare for the invasion. However, once Ebenezar comes with the truck, there is an immediate conflict between him and Kincaid.

Blood Rites Chapter 30 Summary:

Kincaid and Ebenezer standoff due to a history of bad blood. Dresden talks them down and convinces them to work together. Kincaid assigns weapons to each of them and solidifies what tactics they will use for the attack.

Trixie holds Dresden by gunpoint. Harry figures out that Trixie is involved with the curse and they’re trying to target Arturo’s future wife. Trixie lets Dresden know that they’ve disabled his counter spell and they just have to wait for the curse to start, which is any minute.

Blood Rites Chapter 26 Summary:

Dresden disarms Trixie but not before she gets two shots off, shooting herself in the process and the second shot killing Emma influenced by the malocchio. Dresden flees the scene when he realizes that he looks like the shooter. Joan stops him during his escape and Harry convinces her to let him leave.

As he is preparing to go Inari is triggered into trying to use Harry as her first feeding, but is protected by Susan’s love. Blood Rites Chapter 16 Summary:

Lara shoots Thomas when they attempt to make a break for it. Thomas manages to distract Lara and save Harry and allow him to get a fire spell off at Lara. As Dresden tries to get Thomas to safety he mistakes Inari for an enemy and she knocks him nearly unconscious. Lara comes to take over the scene when three Black Court vampires arrive to threaten everyone there.

Harry apprehends the figure who turns out to be Thomas. Just before Dresden can get any answers from Thomas, Lara has snuck up and intervened.

A third joins the fray, finally killing the beast, who turns out to be Michael Carpenter. Michael introduces Harry to the other two men who are Knights of the Cross and then warns Harry there are more attacks coming.

Dresden meets Murphy at the morgue and is introduced to Waldo Butters, the attending Assistant medical examiner. They examine a body that has died under unusual circumstances - coming down with every plague and disease in a matter of hours, additionally being tortured before death and then having identifiable features such as the head and hands removed. Harry makes his way to his car and is attacked by an angry bear-like monster.

Father Vincent begins to plead his case to Dresden when a paid hitman takes aim on them. Dresden and Father Vincent escape in the Blue Beetle, but during their exit, Harry see’s more hired men and recognizes one of the assailants to be Hendrix - hired hand of Gentleman Johnny Marcone.

Death Masks Chapter 3 Summary:

Once to the safety of Father Vincent’s hotel, he enlists Dresden to recover a stolen artifact for the Church - the one and only Shroud of Turin. Dresden accepts the case and heads back to his apartment to be surprised by the end of an altercation, which happens to involve the long lost Susan.

Death Masks Chapter 1 Summary:

Dresden appears as a guest on the Larry Fowler show along with Mortimer Lindquist. In a surprise move, one of the two mystery guests turns out to be the Vampire Ortega who proceeds to challenge Harry to a duel to end the war. In his anger, Harry accepts the duel but loses control of his magic, taking out all of the studio equipment. The second guest Father Vincent confesses to also attending the show to gain Dresden’s ear.

Summer Knight Chapter 33 Summary:

Elaine joins Harry in the fray and agrees to help him past Aurora’s wall of thorns. Dresden makes it to Aurora just in time to witness Lily turn back from stone and manages to stop Aurora from making her a sacrifice at the Stone Table. Dresden lets loose his secret weapon against Aurora and stops her from upsetting the balance between Summer and Winter.

Summer Knight Chapter 34 Summary:

Dresden recovers in his apartment having been taken care of by his friends. Harry is visited by the new Summer Lady and Summer Knight - Lily and Fix. Elaine comes to say goodbye having been released from her obligations. Harry visits the alpha’s for some much needed rest and relaxation.

Dresden defends the group using a magical shield that debilitates the Fae horses. Meryl is then struck down by Slate and Fix knocks him out in retaliation. Aurora begins to use the Unraveling on Lily at the Stone Table but Dresden manages to stop her briefly only to be detained by one of Aurora’s spells and then attacked by one of the riders.

Summer Knight Chapter 30 Summary:

Dresden and his companions arrive at a Chicago-over-Chicago in mayhem. Dresden is presented to Mab, and he tells her the truth about Aurora. She asks for proof and Harry requests access to the Stone Table to get it. Mab tells him the way to get there and then proceeds with the battle as Harry makes his way to the River.

Summer Knight Chapter 31 Summary:

Dresden and his group make it to the River, but so does Aurora and hers. The Summer Lady commands the death of Dresden and his friends and takes off for the Stone Table with Korrick and the stone entombed Lily. The two groups prepare to face off.

The Alpha’s take out the ghoul and detain the gunman who turns out to be Ace, who has been put to task by the Red Court Vampires. They continue on to find a magical stairway to the Stone Table in the sky.

Just as Dresden plans to unleash his death curse, Elaine proposes a new plan to bind and drown him. They leave Harry to die alone sinking in the mud. Harry recognizes a cryptic message Elaine gave him and finds a way to break the binding and free himself from the death trap.

The mysterious carriage brings Dresden and Elaine to a mist-covered land. A raven leads the pair towards the location of the Mothers, but before they can get to them they find a Unicorn guarding the way. After an altercation with the beast, Elaine holds it back while Dresden makes a run to get to the Summer and Winter Mothers.

Dresden goes to Lake Michigan and summons his Godmother Lea to bring him to the Summer and Winter Queens. Lea brings him instead to Chicago-Over-Chicago and shows him the truth of the war between the two Courts.

Summer Knight Chapter 20 Summary:

Harry battles it out with the Chlorofiend. In a desperate move, Dresden uses a wind spell to knock the monster under a set of metal shelves, temporarily detaining it. Harry joins back up with Murphy and the two head back into the store.

Summer Knight Chapter 21 Summary:

Dresden and Murphy fight off Grum using conventional methods but Murphy gets injured during the attack. Harry goes to get the Blue Beetle to get Murphy to safety but is forced to deal with the Chlorofiend. Dresden retrieves Murphy and have to deal with a final attack from both the Chlorofiend and an unknown gunman. They survive the ordeal and are able to make their escape from the scene.

Harry and Murphy find themselves under attack and start dividing Walmart into useful potion and spell opportunities. They run into Mr. Untouchable and things get worse.

Dresden brings Elaine to the Summer Court to help with her injuries. Dresden eventually realizes he is in the presence of Aurora, the Summer Lady and asks her to help Elaine. Aurora tells Dresden he is vulnerable to the influence of Winter, and asks him to not help Winter in exchange for Aurora taking away his pain. Dresden declines and tells her he will find the killer before the war between Summer and Winter starts in two days time.

Maeve attempts to bargain for Harry’s first born and tries to get the process started immediately. Dresden brutishly declines the offer. Slate, the Winter Knight makes an appearance to which Harry immediately asks him if he killed the Summer Knight. Slate denies doing so which results in a faceoff between him and Maeve. Harry concludes that Maeve is not the killer and then him and Billy make their way back to the beetle. Just before they get there, the two are ambushed.

The court dances until one of the band members plays himself to death, at which point Lady Maeve of the Winter Court acknowledges Dresden. Harry immediately asks her if she killed the Winter Knight but Maeve will not answer without making a bargain first.

Dresden crashes Reuel’s Funeral and finds the trio in the Photo he recovered from Grum. Harry follows the three into the alley and promptly finds himself in a nearby dumpster. Billy shows up and provides Harry with bribery pizza.

Summer Knight Chapter 13 Summary:

Harry sets up a faerie trap and summons Toot-Toot. The faerie comes with a small militia of other faeries to collect the coveted reward of Pizza. In return for the pie, Toot-Toot provides Dresden with information and a tiny fairy guide to find the Ladies of the Winter and Summer Court.

Dresden descends into his lab in search of information after recovering from an unsettling dream of Susan. Harry learns more about the Sidhe court structure from Bob in hopes to narrow down a suspect in the death of Ronald Reuel.

Summer Knight Chapter 11 Summary:

Dresden pays a visit to Ronald Reuel’s apartment, only to find he wasn’t the first person to have the same idea. Harry confronts and steals a photograph from the other trespasser, only to end up in an altercation which reveals the man to be an Ogre. The fight ends prematurely with a neighbor calling the police and both parties leaving the scene.

Morgan crosses Dresden’s wards and enters his apartment. Morgan accuses Harry of being under the influence of the Vampires, and goads him until Dresden loses his temper and draws his sword on him. Dresden quickly realizes this is part of The Merlin’s plan and disarms himself. Morgan delivers a message from the Senior council stating they will not involve themselves in Harry’s Trial and leaves. Elaine emerges from her hiding spot, opts not to involve the White Council and too takes her leave.

Dresden returns to his apartment and finds a very alive Elaine in his home.

The Senior Council is split evenly with the vote of one remaining council member - The Gatekeeper - who seems to have insight of Dresden’s dealings with Mab. He opts to base his vote on Dresden’s willingness to accept Mab’s request.

After being magically searched by Morgan, Dresden enters the theater and the White Council’s meeting begins. The Merlin begins with suggesting to immediately vote upon Wizard Schneider to be instated as the next Senior Council member. The matter of a discussion is forced, resulting in Ebenezar being voted in instead. The meeting moves on to discuss the details of the current War with the Red Court. It is revealed the Red Court has offered peace in exchange for Dresden.

Mab makes Dresden an offer he can’t refuse: 3 tasks to be performed for her in return for his freedom from his obligations. Dresden accepts the new deal and receives his first request - to solve the murder of a local artist and return a stolen item.

Summer Knight Chapter 4 Summary:

Harry makes his way to the location of the Council meeting where he meets up with his old mentor Ebenezer in the parking lot. Ebenezer reveals two other senior council members and a plan to help Dresden from judgment of the Merlin and the White Council. Unfortunately, their last supporter has been killed, leaving Harry vulnerable to the ultimate fate of the White Council.

Summer Knight Book Summary:

The Winter Queen of the Sidhe has purchased Dresden's debt from his fairy godmother, Leanansidhe. She tells Dresden he can pay off his debt by doing three favors. Dresden initially refuses her request, but is forced by the White Council to accept the role of her Emissary as his Trial, else be stripped of his title of wizard and handed over to the Red Court vampires as a peace offering. Harry is forced to walk the line between multiple supernatural governments, all rooting for his death, all while trying not to get killed.

Summer Knight Chapter 1 Summary:

Dresden investigates strange weather patterns with Billy in Lake Meadow Park. While Dresden and Billy talk, an assassination attempt is made on Dresden by humans and a ghoul.

We discuss chapter 38 and 39 in which Bianca makes an offer in which Dresden absolutely refuses, unleashes the spirit world, and takes a hospital vacation.

Grave Peril Chapter 38 Summary:

Dresden dispatches the security and Bianca makes Dresden an offer - complete forgiveness and his life, in exchange for Susan. Harry declines knowing it would be seen as an act of war. Bianca orders an attack and in a quick decision, Dresden releases all the spirits who had died at the vampire's hands upon them. The ghosts destroy Bianca, the vampires, and the mansion, allowing for Dresden, Susan and Justine’s escape.

Grave Peril Chapter 39 Summary:

Dresden recovers in the hospital and Kravos’ many victims recover as well. Susan stays in contact with Harry but no longer comes to see him. Dresden dedicates his time to finding a cure for Susan.

Grave Peril Chapter 36 Summary:

Dresden enters the dreamworld and faces off with Kravos. Kravos kills Harry in the dream but is resuscitated in the real world by Susan, resulting in a ghost version of Harry. They overpower and defeat Kravos allowing Harry to get his powers back. Dresden returns to the real world and the trio begin to make their escape from the room but are stopped by Kyle and Kelly.

Grave Peril Chapter 37 Summary:

Dresden with the help of Susan dispatches Kelly and Kyle. Harry finds Bob and his magical equipment, but quickly notices they’ve lost Susan. Dresden makes it out of the basement to confront Bianca and her henchmen.

Dresden uses poison as a bargaining chip with Lea, which allows him to escape her grasp. Thomas and Michael stay behind to let Dresden escape. Dresden travels back from the Nevernever into Bianca’s mansion - directly into Bianca's clutches.

Grave Peril Chapter 34 Summary:

Dresden wakes up locked in a room with Justine. As they are talking, Justine becomes unresponsive, and the ghost of Rachel appears. Dresden realizes her ghost is trapped there by Bianca. Justine wakes up again but is controlled by Kravos who is eager to torture Dresden the minute he falls asleep. Kravos releases Justine and they notice another person in the room - Susan, who is no longer completely human.

Grave Peril Chapter 35 Summary:

Susan gets her first taste of blood and begins to advance on Harry. He distracts her with a bloody towel and begins working a memory spell. Harry tells Susan that he loves her which allows his spell to work, breaking Lea’s enchantment in the process. Dresden comes up with a new plan for escape.

Dresden, Michael and Thomas face off with the Nightmare that is possessing Lydia. Dresden attempts to exorcize the demon Azorthragal but it fails to work. Dresden realizes who the Nightmare really is and finally evicts Kravos from Lydia. The trio take Bob and cut through the Nevernever to get to Bianca’s mansion. As they almost make it through, Lea catches up to them.

Dresden figures out she is who is pulling the Nightmare’s strings. Mavra threatens to harm the person who is not under the laws of protection but the trio are able to defend themselves. As they are about to leave, Court begins and they are unable to escape.

Grave Peril Chapter 27 Summary:

Lea makes her presence known at the party. Harry is greatly affected by her in his compromised state and begins to get weaker as the moments pass. Susan barters with Lea to purchase Dresden’s debt and gives Lea a year's worth of her memories. Lea takes her leave and the group decide to leave as well, only to realize that Susan no longer remembers who Dresden is.

They leave to search for a suspect.

Dresden and Michael return to Harry’s apartment where he sets up a spell to make contact with the Nightmare. Dresden calls upon the Nightmare and binds it to do no harm to anyone but Harry himself. The two plan what to do next.

Dresden makes his way into the cemetery and finds the Charity and the Nightmare. Harry fights with the Nightmare only to be badly injured. Lea appears and makes another bargain with Dresden that helps heal him enough to dispatch the Nightmare. She calls in the favor immediately and in a foolish move Dresden misuses Amoracchius, allowing Lea to abscond with it.

Dresden calls Murphy to warn her but finds out someone has already called her pretending to be him. He rushes to the police department but finds he is already too late, the Nightmare has already attacked Murphy. Dresden does what he can to make her safe and comfortable.

Dresden uses his wizard Sight to inspect Micky. He finds him ravaged in soul with a barbed wire spell wrapped around him, just like Agatha Hagglethorn. Dresden removes the spell and destroys it.

Harry’s been erroneously imprisoned following Alex Talbot’s death and Pres promptly informs the grieving Maddie that she’s down another brother. Somewhat weirdly she seems more concerned about Dresden?!?

Meanwhile, Mayor Cedar pulls rank and gets Harry released and we learn she has a sort of... spiritual spouse? from her time in Egypt.

Dresden presses the Mayor into service watching over the remaining Talbots, Pres gets decked out in his best Rambo gear, and he and Harry head out to duel the battling baddies.

Dresden fails to save Joseph Talbot, but gains more insight into the misunderstood man and his family troubles.

Harry calls up a nature spirit for intel on the bad guys’ feud and the Talbots’ bloodline curse, and the spirit arranges a meeting for the next night.

Turns out the arranged encounter is with a guardian serpent that seems less than eager to lend a hand.

Dresden also has Pres set up a face-to-face with the three youngest Talbots, tries to get some answers out of Mayor Cedar, and ham-handedly figures out the identity of the ghoul.

Not all of that goes well for Harry…

Working from the assumption that all psychotic killers, mortal or supernatural alike, cannot resist admiring their handiwork and reveling in some schadenfreude, Dresden and Prescott “Pres” Tremaine (the deputy sheriff that hired Harry), decide to look for anyone suspicious or out of place at the Talbot's funeral.

As luck, or perhaps a lack thereof, would have it, our boys are not disappointed.

A rescue attempt is made by Tera West and the Alpha’s to get Dresden out of the garage via escape tunnel. While Dresden is making his escape, Parker is caught and slaughtered by the FBI wolves. Outside Dresden joins the fight with Tera and the Alpha’s against Rogers in his wolf form.

Harry wakes up in the Full Moon Garage, partially mended and tied to a post. Dresden almost manages to release himself from his bonds when Parker and FlatNose return. Dresden tries to antagonize Parker into leaving the room but his plan backfires, leaving him moments from death.
