Michael spent 17 years in full-time parish ministry and is now the Mission Evangelist for That Man Is You!, a men’s apostolate for Paradisus Dei. Michael is a frequent speaker at conferences, retreats, and parish missions all over the US and Canada.

He is the founder and creative director of LayEvangelist.com, and hosts two popular Catholic podcasts: Catching Foxes and Every Knee Shall Bow. He is married to his college sweetheart, Shannon, and has four beautiful and hilarious children: Kateri, Cecilia, Noah, and Thomas.

Catherine (Suprenant) Cheney - DIRECTOR, City on a Hill

Catherine spent her high school years in Kansas City. Afterward, she received formation in a community of Dominican Sisters, and then attended Benedictine College, before working in parish and diocesan ministry in New York and Ohio. Now, she joyfully serves the young adults of Kansas City! Eric Wombwell, Pharm.D., BCIDP | Eric Wombwell, PharmD is a Clinical Associate Professor for the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, School of Pharmacy. Eric is a gifted teacher with an insatiable hunger for greater intimacy with The Father. Shortly after college, Eric experienced a profound conversion setting his life on a new trajectory of missionary discipleship. Since that time the Lord has been maturing Eric into a charismatic servant-leader with an anointing for teaching. Eric is living the dream: husband of over 5-years to his beautiful and faithful bride, Jenna; father of two sons, Max (3) and Leo (1); member of a community of friends and family that reflect the love of The Father; and witness to the supernatural wonders available to those eager to call upon the name of Jesus. Eric is zealous to see the Lord renew His wonders in Kansas City!

Nick Redd | Hailing from Alton, IL (just outside of St Louis), Nick moved to Kansas City six years ago by way of Minnesota. Upon graduating college in 2010, Nick signed up for what he thought would be nine months of missionary service with NET Ministries. Those nine months turned into three years after which he joined religious life. He was officially “Brother Nick” for a grand total of six days and 13 hours before “discerning” he was not called to that way of life. He quickly hopped back into full time ministry and served with SPO (Saint Paul’s Outreach) at the University of St Thomas for three years. In 2016 Nick moved down to Kansas City to help start a Young Adult Chapter with SPO, and he currently serves as the local Regional Mission Director. He lives in Overland Park with his lovely bride Theresa, and two girls Perpetua Joy (2) and Judith Esther (1).

He has served on the board of directors for the Saint John Henry Newman Association of America and the editorial board for Newman Studies Journal. Through his work with the Gregorian Institute, Dr. Muller directs the annual, Symposium on the Transformation of Culture. He completed his PhD in historical theology from Saint Louis University in May 2017. He has a Masters in Catholic Studies from the University of St Thomas, in Minnesota. After graduating from Benedictine in 2006, he served for three years as a missionary with FOCUS at the University of Illinois.

Joe Wurtz, PhD | Dr. Wurtz received his BA in philosophy from Benedictine College, his Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Kansas and his doctorate in Higher Education Administration at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He worked as a Resident Director at Benedictine and as Director of Student Activities. He served as the Dean of Students at Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia, before returning to Benedictine. Wurtz served as a FOCUS missionary at Benedictine College from 1999-2000 and at the University of Denver from 2000-2001. He has served on the Board of Directors for FOCUS. He and his wife, Megan, live in Atchison, Kansas, with their six children.

Jeff also served as the inaugural chairperson for the Young Adult Advisory Board to the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA. The Pearson family are grateful to celebrate one year of calling Kansas City their home! 

JohnMarc Skoch | I live in Overland Park, KS, with my wife Kelsey and our four children (newborn son not pictured below). My role in FOCUS is as a Senior Regional Director and FOCUS Music Director. As a Senior Regional Director I work with 5 campus teams in the state of Kansas. My role is to work with the Team Directors at each campus to make sure they are living out the Universal Call to Holiness, and leading their team and students to do the same. As FOCUS Music Director, I manage all of the musical needs for the organization from SEEK to our Summer Training, and retreats. My role is to ensure that the music at each event FOCUS offers has a consistent liturgical vision, and upholds true reverence in worship as called for by Church teaching.

Marco Casanova | I’m a Roman Catholic, baptized as a baby of a lovely family in Houston, TX. There, a desire to serve the Lord as a priest welled up in my heart. I eventually entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, PA. I was in priestly formation for eight and half years, and completed undergraduate and graduate studies in Philosophy and Theology. Coming to grips with my need for radical redemption in my broken sexuality, I surrendered my plan to become a priest, and resigned from the seminary. I immediately came on as an intern with Desert Stream Ministries. Working now as the Assistant Director, I have been privileged to work alongside this healing army.

Brenna Dillon, New Student Director | Brenna is from Overland Park, Kansas and her favorite thing to do to relax is enjoying a good conversation with some Boulevard Beer and good friends. Her first car was a 1998 Honda Accord, which she inevitably called Ronda the Honda and her favorite saints are St. Joseph and St. Kateri Tekakwitha.

Madison Abbott, Director of Faith Formation | Madison born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised on a leisure farm about an hour northeast of Tulsa and loves to go on long runs and bike rides to relax. Her first car was a 1996 hunter green Jeep Grand Cherokee, but only had it a month before she totaled it. Her favorite saint is St. Teresa of Calcutta.

Nick Labrie, Director of Missionary Discipleship | Nick grew up on the beach in St. Petersburg, Fl and his first car was The Chariot. His favorite place to relax is the Blue Ridge Mountains and his favorite saints are St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Terese of Lisieux.

About André Regnier: Along with his wife Angèle, André founded Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) in Saskatoon in 1988. For over 3 decades CCO has been affecting change in the lives of the students to whom it ministers, calling them to deeper conversion and a Christ-centred life. In 2015, André and Angèle were awarded the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal for distinguished service to the Church. This is the highest medal that can be awarded to laity by the Pope.
