We go back to a time where a trip to the woods was not equipped with GPS and the sheer terror of getting genuinely lost in the middle of nowhere without a digital safety net was something we deeply understood.

Set on Halloween night in 1977, the film follows struggling talk show host Jack Delroy (played brilliantly by David Dastmalchian) as he attempts a live televised exorcism to save his failing ratings, with catastrophic, blood-soaked results.

From 1970s slashers to modern survival icons, we countdown our Top 5 Final Girls of all time. What makes a truly great survivor—resourcefulness, grit, booby traps, and pure refusal to die, while tracing how the trope evolved from helpless scream queens to battle-hardened heroines who fight back on their own terms.

In this episode, we explore how Craven reinvented the slasher genre by bringing horror into the one place we're supposed to be safe, our dreams. We break down the chilling real-world news articles about medical mysteries that inspired the plot, the childhood terrors behind Freddy Krueger's iconic look, and how a low-budget indie film built New Line Cinema into "The House That Freddy Built", before reviewing the movie.

In this episode, we discuss Lucio Fulci’s 1979 cult classic, Zombie Flesh Eaters (aka Zombi 2). We explore its place on the UK’s infamous 1980s "Video Nasties" banned list, and how cinematographer Sergio Salvati balanced gorgeous sunlit landscapes with sickening, stomach-churning decay.

Plus, we break down the infamous underwater zombie vs. real tiger shark battle, the agonising slow-motion eye splinter scene, and why this movie proved that true horror doesn't need computer graphics—just atmosphere, practical effects, and pure, unrelenting dread.
