Westside LO sat down with me finally in the streets of West End Atlanta for the beginning of what I hope and pray will be a series. She did not want to talk about deeper topics but she promised that we could work up to that. Happy Birthday Lora!

Lora is my birth mother who has battled mental health diagnosis in addition to an addictive personality while simultaneously searching to fill a void she did not receive from her mother, my grandmother who raised me from 3 years old.

We took it easy this conversation but I did ask at the end, "If your mother was so bad, why'd you leave me with her?" which is a question that has lingered in me for over 20 years that I've never asked. I'm convinced Iyanla would throw in the towel on this family but Ima keep trying for my namesake!!!

Bruh...we had a time! My son’s father, Tyran SR, and I chat about co-parenting and the hard work associated! And I know y'all nosey in my business so here goes LOL. Aunt Riua interlude

Does your family have "spirit doppelgängers"... these are people in your family that have identical paths that are aligned to yours....or the same dialect even though you're worlds/decades apart.....or the same body language. I noticed it on my moms side of the family since the elder women are almost identical and they passed down a lot of traits and trauma through the generations unknowingly.

My maternal grandmother, "Connie" has three sisters that are the "matriarchs" of our family as they are all within four years of each other. One of her sisters Diane, my namesake, changed her name to Riua Akinshegun and I definitely have been blessed with her spirit of life and love for travel and natural healing. She has a lot of stories written/published and has traveled and lived abroad. There is no way she can fit them in just one episode so we will give her interludes for now as she learns how to navigate her own podcast world. Thank you for listening and I pray this makes your day or helps you heal, if needed.
