The first and biggest reason for all of this is due to the playing time and consistency of the squads. National teams only ever have a few weeks at a time during international breaks, and a few weeks is being generous. Most of the time, they get a week or 2 at a time with 2 or 3 games during friendly international breaks. And they get very minimal time to prepare for major tournaments and games. while there can be a lot of debate about who is better then who, there are two rankings that are 100% certain, Messi and Ronaldo being 1 and 2. So I will do my best to create arguments for each to be the goat but im gonna keep it short, and if I feel like it at the end I can give my opinion. For Ronaldo, we can start with that clip of Gary Neville (PLAY CLIP) he’s the greatest goalscorer of all time, has done it in the Prem, La Liga, and Serie A. Carried both Juventus and Man United after he was 35 years old. He’s scored many world-class goals and has played for some of the great all time teams. Now Messi is the best dribbler and playmaker ever, and he is a great goalscorer. He has also been apart of great teams and has scored some unbelievable goals. He has the best tallent ever and can do things with the ball that no one else can.

Segment 3: Title of Segment

Text or script goes here. You can also include any links mentioned in your show that you want people to check out.

Music Credits:

Up by Beat Mekanik

Free Music Archive (CC BY)

So Scared by Beat Mekanik

Free Music Archive (CC BY)

Connect with us on Social Media

@theHVSPN

https://hvspn.com/best-players-ever

<itunes:image href="https://artwork.captivate.fm/a8f9f32b-c1ba-4d83-ac11-9b8f98d07cdc/9rBcOS4M-PzloQo2zxANOR9H.jpg"/>
HVSPN

<itunes:duration>13:52</itunes:duration><itunes:explicit>false</itunes:explicit><itunes:episodeType>full</itunes:episodeType><itunes:episode>4</itunes:episode><podcast:episode>4</podcast:episode><itunes:author>HVSPN</itunes:author>

World Cup History
<itunes:title>World Cup History</itunes:title>

Hopewell Valley Student Podcasting Network

Show Name: Pitch Perfect

Episode Title: World Cup History

Episode #4

You are listening to Pitch Perfect the podcast with your host Chis Turnbull.

In this episode of Pitch Perfect the Podcast, we discuss: The counties with the most World Cups and The tournament's greatest-ever players.

Segment 1: Countries with the most World Cups

According to a statista.com graph, there have only been 8 countries to ever win a World Cup

Brazil, 5

Germany, 4

Italy, 4

Argentia, 3

Uruguay, 2

France, 2

Spain, 1

England, 1

Brazil has had some great players and teams, including Pele, Ronaldinho, OG Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Kaka, Cafu, and there is just an endless list of others, but recently they haven’t been able to get over the hump, even though they have been considered by many to be the most talented team in most of the recent world cups.

Germany has had success all throughout the history of the World Cup, winning 4 of them, each about 20 years apart from the 50’s to that legendary 2014 tournament,

Italy had a lot of success very early, winning the second and third ever tournament, they also won in 82 and 2006. popularity, The World Team of the Decade for the 1890’s, and continuing about the growth.

Segment 1: How it grew in popularity

As we all know, Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, and a sport that has plenty of history and has been played for a very long time. Obviously there are stories of people kicking around objects thousands of years ago, which some websites will give credit to as being the beginning of the game. But I wanted to begin at a time where we would all rcognize it, when the sport began in the form we know it today. The first ever football association was formed in England in 1863. It gave rules and gave a standard size and weight for the bals, and it also divided football and rugby as we know today. Around this time, only England and Scotland played. England had a style that was more kick and run, like rugby, but Scotland was more centered around passing, which is more prominent today. Professional football was officially legalized in 1885 and the Football league was established 3 years later. In its first season, there were 12 clubs, with most clubs being very successful still to this day, with Aston Villa, Burnley, Everton, and Wolves all in the premier league this season.

Segment 2: World Team of Decade, 1890s

This next segment will be about the World Team of the Decade of the 1890s, the best players in the world at the beginning of the game as we know it today.

1. The Goalkeeper was Ned Doig, played for Sunderland and was Scottish, it says in this website I’m looking at that he had the skills of a modern goalkeeper, but I dont know if they are talking about Onana type skills. The 2. Right Back was Nicol Smith, played for Rangers and again was from Scotland, another modern player as he was an attacking fullback.

3. Left Back was William John Oakley, was English and played for Corinthian FC, no clue what that is and this website said he was an amateur, so don’t know what that’s about.

4. Now they have a RH, CH, and LH. I believe I am correct in saying they are right, center, and left half, which I have heard but I am used to saying back instead of half. These players from left to right were Jack Reynolds, who played for Aston Villa and West Brom, Johnny Holt, played for Everton, and Jimmy Crabtree, for Aston Villa. They are all English except for Reynolds, who had caps for both Ireland and England. After the back 5 is where I get more confused with these positions.

5. The next 2 are OR and IR, which I assume are Outside and Inside right. Charlie Athersmith and Steve Bloomer, Charlie for Villa and England and Steve for Derby County and England.

6. Then you have the Cf, which I am familiar with, Jonny Campbell played for Sunderland and Scottland.

7. OL and IL are outside and inside left I assume. ‘Diamond’ Freddie Wheldon was the OL and played for Aston Villa and England.

Segment 3: Title of Segment

Here we will continue our first segment where we ended off with the clubs from the Football league back in 1885.

FIFA was founded in 1904 and a foundation act was signed by representatives from France, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

England and the other British countries did not join FIFA from the start, they had invented the game and saw no reason to subordinate to an association. Still, they joined in the following year, but would not partake in the World Cup until 1950

In 1908 would football for the first time be included as an official sport in the Olympic Games. Until the first FIFA World Cup was played in 1930, the Olympic Games football tournament would rank as the most prestigious on a national level.

Music Credits: Up by Beat Mekanik

Free Music Archive (CC BY)

Hazy by Beat Mekanik

Free Music Archive (CC BY)

Glow by Beat Mekanik

Free Music Archive (CC BY)

So Scared by Beat Mekanik

Free Music Archive (CC BY)

Connect with us on Social Media

@theHVSPN

https://hvspn.com/pp1

<itunes:image href="https://artwork.captivate.fm/a8f9f32b-c1ba-4d83-ac11-9b8f98d07cdc/9rBcOS4M-PzloQo2zxANOR9H.jpg"/>
HVSPN

<itunes:duration>11:09</itunes:duration><itunes:explicit>false</itunes:explicit><itunes:episodeType>full</itunes:episodeType><itunes:episode>1</itunes:episode><podcast:episode>1</podcast:episode><itunes:author>HVSPN</itunes:author>

Pitch Perfect
<itunes:title>Pitch Perfect</itunes:title>

Hopewell Valley Student Podcasting Network

Show Name: Pitch Perfect

Episode Title: Welcome to Pitch Perfect

Episode #0

You are listening to Pitch Perfect the podcast with your host Chris Turnbull.

In this episode of Pitch Perfect, we discuss the introduction of the show.

Segment 1: Introduction

What up everyone, my name is Chris Turnbull and you are, and hopefully will continue to listen to my podcast, Pitch Perfect. This is a podcast all about the beautiful game that I, and other cool people, call soccer. Listen, I’m no expert, I’m actually just some American in high school. But I have been playing the game my entire life and have been watching every weekend since elementary school, so hopefully I have learned something about the sport throughout my lifetime. This is a student-led podcast that I will be doing inside of school. I’m gonna be real, I took this class cause it was going to be a fun class to take for my senior year. But I am really passionate about soccer and I think we can make a great podcast, so I’ll be taking it serious and putting in the work, but having fun along the way. For this show, there will be 3 segments, the first one will be an introduction to the main topic we will be discussing, the second segment will be some facts or players related to the topic, and the third will just be finishing up the topic. We will have 10 episodes published about every 2 weeks. Thank you to my teachers, my inspirations, Mr. Johnson and Mr. Guise, for this opportunity.

Music Credits: Up by Beat Mekanik

Free Music Archive (CC BY)

Connect with us on Social Media

@theHVSPN

Hopewell Valley Student Podcasting Network

Show Name: Pitch Perfect

Episode Title: Welcome to Pitch Perfect

Episode #0

You are listening to Pitch Perfect the podcast with your host Chris Turnbull.

In this episode of Pitch Perfect, we discuss the introduction of the show.

Segment 1: Introduction

What up everyone, my name is Chris Turnbull and you are, and hopefully will continue to listen to my podcast, Pitch Perfect.
