In today’s episode, I break down a real funnel experiment that completely changed how I think about email marketing, buyer behavior, and funnel strategy. While prepping for a major course launch, I found myself wondering whether I was sending too many emails—or not enough—so I decided to test it.

I walk you through two versions of the exact same funnel: a 10-email sequence and a 5-email sequence for the same low-cost offer. Everything stayed the same—the opt-in, the freebie, the pop-up offer, and the pricing. The only thing that changed was the number of emails sent to people who didn’t purchase right away. I had this arbitrary rule I put in place for myself that I couldn't take a break from the podcast. But this rule was made for no real reason, so now I need to trust myself that taking a step back is the right choice.

I encourage you to throw out the rulebook that is keeping you from doing what you love. Make necessary changes, find what you love, and take the right path for you.

81. I tried out a “pay what you want” option on an offer, here’s how it went

In today’s episode I share how I tried out a “pay what you want” option on an offer, here’s how it went: Earlier this year I wanted to experiment with something new in my launch strategy for a brand new offer. Kajabi has a new “pay what you want” feature that allows your customer to enter what they want to pay at checkout. There’s no set price (you can set a minimum) and it’s up to the customer to choose what the value is.

In this episode, I share what I learned from this experiment:

Using this feature can be a good way to do a/b testing
It can be a way to collect data from your customers to help set an official price point
When I let my target group in this experiment pay what they wanted, they chose to pay an average of $15 for the offer
I ignored the average people chose to pay because I saw the actual value and I increased and set the price two different times with great results
New customers might not see the value in a paid offer like your current customers do
People see the value that you assign to the offer
It’s through your marketing that you’re attaching value to the amount you’re charging for the offer
Pick a price you can stand behind and work on your marketing messaging to show the worth

Is your offer launch not going as planned? In today’s episode I am talking all about tangible options you can do to turn it around. I’ll share my real world struggle I’m currently facing myself with my own offer and how I’m navigating that. Failed launches are inevitable and they happen to every business offer; but giving up is not an option! There’s always more things we can try.

In this episode, I cover two different scenarios and options for each to spark ideas for you to try such as:

Post reel or content that relates to the offer that you can use a CTA with
Target a specific group or segment from your email list to send content tol
Share a different perspective on the offer that you haven’t shared before
Ask people what’s holding them back from purchasing and listen to their feedback
Make small tweaks to marketing messaging to see what gets better traction
Extend deadline of launch
Add a bonus for the next X amount of people who join the offer
Relaunch your offer
Refine your offer

There’s been a common theme in my DMs recently with a lot of questions along the same line of “how do you make your messaging so magnetic”.

Magnetic messaging means that people are drawn in and sold before you actually have the chance to sell to them. Are you feeling stuck to attract your ideal clients? I’ll share my movement piece, and how it embodies the values and the vision behind what I teach.

In today’s episode, I’m going to walk you through simple tips to create copy that goes from boring and predictable to exciting and relevant, ultimately creating magnetic messaging that sells.

These tips are:

Create a movement piece that embodies the overarching idea of what it is that you teach. This needs to resonate deeply with your audience and the outcome they’re searching for.
Infuse your copy with effective language that speaks directly to your ideal follower or ideal client’s aspirations or challenges to drive conversion
Leverage Chat GPT to help you understand your ideal client’s thoughts (I share a prompt below to use).

I was recently listening to a training and the coach said “your greatest perceived weakness is what you need to lean into, it is actually your greatest strength.” That concept has stuck with me for weeks. We don’t want to deny or suppress our weaknesses; we should be reframing our mindset and embracing the unique qualities that make us who we are. What do you actually do when the going gets tough? In today’s episode we’re getting really vulnerable. I’m going to walk you through some difficult things I’ve been going through recently and how I’m navigating each of them. Reflecting on everything in the last month made me realize no one fails, they just quit before they succeed. We’re all going to face tough times; it’s part of the entrepreneurship journey.

Listen along as I share some of the tough things I’ve been dealing with:

I had my lowest income month I’ve ever had in the last 2.5 years
A student in one of my offers told me I’m not embodying what I teach
A student was plagiarizing one of my offers
I had a tragedy in my personal life recently
I lost a very large investment in another business
I goofed up with something I taught in one of my offers

While it’s been a really tough month, I’ve tried to remember that disruption proceeds your biggest breakthroughs. How many of us throw in the towel right before our breakthrough? Ultimately where we need to land: our dreams are worth fighting for.

I saw a post linked from Pinterest that shared tips on how to grow your Instagram in only 30 minutes a day and I didn’t think the tips were realistic! So I wanted to create this episode to share my thoughts on what can actually be done in 30 minutes a day and what I believe to be the most important things to focus on to see results. Disclaimer, if you’re in the learning process of creating content, these tips might take a little longer, but these are good goals to shoot for!

A content creation, posting, and batching schedule you can implement with specific examples of how to utilize your time
A few things I don’t think you need to worry about or focus on when trying to grow your Instagram (e.g. hashtags)

People who use value-based pricing.
People who share that they’ve unlocked a new level as a way to sell their new offer.
People who use click bait hooks that are misleading just to grow on social media.
People who talk about passive income like it’s a create it once and then leave it and never touch it again type of offer.
MRR- master resell rights (go listen to Ep 34 “The tea on master resell rights” to learn more)– people claim it’s easy and you’ll make a lot of money.
People who don’t use contracts and terms of use when selling their offers.
People who dispute payments instead of just talking to the business owner.

I’m working everyday but I’m not getting anywhere.
I’m doing all the things and I’m drowning.

I was recently a guest on a podcast, and the host shared how many of their clients feel uncomfortable and weird sharing their wins online. So today, I’ll be talking about my personal experience and take on why I think sharing wins can be powerful and impactful.

How I was inspired when two other people I follow on Instagram shared their wins and how it showed me that it was possible for me to achieve the same
How wins don’t have to be solely monetary focused
The importance of asking yourself what your intention is for sharing/posting and then trusting it will reach the right people if your intentions are pure

I’ve been asked about this a ton in my DMs, so I share my experience of being a guest on other podcasts and the benefits of exposing myself to new audiences. Positioning your business in a place that allows you to be seen for months and years to come in podcasts episodes can make a huge impact. I also share six tips on how to pitch yourself. In sharing these tips, I use both the perspective of pitching myself and being pitched to by others wanting to be a guest on Radical Disruption.
