You may have noticed that this season is six episodes again - I'm trying something new. I'm fully going with the flow. Rather than frantically seeking guests, I'm letting them come to me naturally. That means, I'm not focused on an episode per month ~ instead I'm letting the right people find this opportunity at the right time. These six conversations were just right for this year. I'm excited to see who is meant to be here next!

This podcast continues to evolve & grow as I do. Since the beginning, I have endeavoured to bring my full presence to these conversations, even though they take place thousands of miles apart. My intention has been to raise awareness of people who are truly authentic to who they are, staying curious & using their uniqueness to bring positive change in so many diverse ways around the world ~ on a personal to the transpersonal level. Lynnea is a Paleontology graduate student completing her PhD at the University of Michigan. She shared a social media post of two pictures ~ one at age 7 when she first discovered paleontology at the Field Museum in Chicago and the second at age 23 returning as a visiting researcher in the paleo collections at the same institution. The post went viral, making Lynnea's story an inspiration for thousands of people to not only follow their dreams but to challenge representational stereotypes of both paleontologists and dinosaurs alike, leading to greater awareness, and celebration of, diversity of all kinds.

Since 2017, Val has dedicated his free time to long distance thru-hiking & rock climbing in Armenia, Georgia & Kyrgyzstan ~ helping to map, build & advocate for trail development. Whether being the first person to complete the 1,500km Transcaucasian Trail (because it didn't "exist" yet), completing an 800km traverse of the Kyrgyz Tien Shan in order to create an open-sourced long-distance route or developing new rock climbing routes on the cliffs of Dilijan in Armenia... Val invites us into his world of what it takes to create new routes for public exploration.

He has been the director of outdoor education at an Ontario-based centre in Haliburton, instructed canoe trips for Outward Bound Canada, and worked with Indigenous students in the Western Arctic Leadership Program in NWT. He has taught grades 7 & 8 as well completing a Master’s of Environmental Education & Communication through Royal Roads University. He is currently studying for a PhD at the University of Calgary as well as working full time in Banff to support the work of Take Me Outside.
