Hackers hit theaters in September 1995, directed by Iain Softley, with a screenplay by Rafael Moreu. The story centers around a group of teenage hackers who uncover a high-level corporate conspiracy and must use their skills to take down a villainous computer security officer.

The movie is essentially the Matrix before the Matrix... minus the leather trench coats and bullet time.

The plot follows Dade Murphy, aka “Zero Cool,” a legendary hacker who, at the age of 11, crashed 1,507 computer systems and got banned from computers until his 18th birthday. Now a high school senior, he falls in with a crew of underground hackers—including Acid Burn, Cereal Killer, Phantom Phreak, and Lord Nikon—and they get wrapped up in a digital frame job that threatens them all.

And yes, there’s a lot of rollerblading and techno rave music along the way.

Sergeant Major Zak Carey is serving what is his final tour of duty at an Army base in Clemens, Georgia. Zak doesn't like the way the Army keeps the base and the bar is not what he's accustomed to. So he goes off base to get a beer. When he goes to the bar one of the local prostitutes tries to come on to Zak but Zak turns her down. That's when the deputy who appears to be her pimp beating her up. That's when Zak strikes him. Later he learns that the Sheriff is corrupt and takes what happened to the Deputy as an attack on him and tries to get Zak but the Army backs him and Zak is not intimidated. That's when they arrest his son on trumped up drug charges. Before Zak can fix it, his wife tries to get a lawyer for their son but this only pushes the Sheriff to send their son to a prison farm. With no other recourse Zak gets into his own vintage Sherman Tank and busts his son out and they try to make it to the state line so that they can expose the Sheriff.

Gary Frank, an ordinary, blue collared John Doe insurance salesman, is about to learn the hard way that there're certain areas that are off-limits to all outsiders. One specific tower block Lincon, is just such a place; as it belongs to a hostile small army known as *the vampires*, who basically own it and oversee that no one who does not occupy a dwelling there, will live thought the night. He's not fully aware of how much he shouldn't be on their turf, that he doesn't belong on their *property*. But it's a simple tap on Decon a child gang member's shoulder, that seals his fate as this act prompt's The Count, their leader to come looking for reprisals from Gary. When a security guard tries to defuse the situation, he ends up dead and so does Decon, who Gary *violated* with his touch. Blamed for the Decon's death by The Count, he's now marked for death, along with anyone else who dares aid him. Stuck on the top floor, with no way down, he's only means to escape or survive is telephone repair man, Jackson (who heard the fatal shots and Gary's cries for help), wheel-chair bound paranoid Vietnam vet, Parker and elderly (but far from helpless) resident Elva Briggs and her teenage granddaughter, Toni, along with a kid in her care who can use a baseball bat better than any weapon. Stranded at their mercy in a place where even the cops won't go, Gary must do what he can, before the *vampires* catch up to him...it's going to be along hard night

Steve Armstrong is a human short-order cook in a fast food restaurant on a "starstation" where the most popular arena fighting tournament in the whole galaxy is held. Members of various alien species fight one on one, often dirty, to become the ruling champions of the galaxy. The restaurant's sole waiter and Steve's boss is Shorty, a short four-armed scheming humanoid alien. When Steve saves Shorty from a particularly unpleasant and violent alien guest, they're both fired by the restaurant's automated A.I. for brawling. Shorty shows gratitude and they become friends. However, without jobs, they'll both be kicked off the space station. Thankfully, Quinn, a human female no-nonsense fighting promoter, who's in quick need of new fighters, hears about Steve's fight with the alien guest and offers him sponsorship. Human fighters have traditionally been defeated easily by naturally tougher alien fighters in previous tournaments and Steve would be a real underdog. Shorty manages to convince Steve to take the offer and after some initial difficulties, Steve proves to be a really tough fighter with an actual tiny chance of success. In the eyes of humans all across the galaxy, who feel inferior to the various alien races, Steve becomes their idol and champion of humanity. Steve doesn't really want all this attention, but he understands the hope people put in him. Rogor is the tournament's crooked organizer, who's complete control over the competition and the players is shaken by Steve's surprising success. He offers one of his deals to Steve as well, but he refuses. Rogor then comes up with a plan to get rid of Steve for good, if he gets to the finals. Rogor's rat-faced yesman Weezil is eager to help. Meanwhile, beautiful Jade attracts Steve's attention.

Stopping briefly in a small Texas town, an itinerant race car driver finds that his stock car, on a trailer behind his motor home, has just been quickly and expertly stripped. He chases down the miscreants, who turn out to be six orphan children. He has no recourse to the law, for the corrupt local Sheriff takes most of the proceeds of their thievery in exchange for not putting them in an orphanage. They are charming rogues, who are in turn charmed by him. Disliking their arrangement with the Sheriff, they stow away with him, and he finds himself becoming a reluctant father figure. Thanks to their enthusiasm and incredible mechanical know-how, he begins to make a name for himself on the racing circuit. But the Sheriff doesn't take kindly to losing his extra income.

An elderly man reads the book "The Princess Bride" to his sick and thus currently bedridden adolescent grandson, the reading of the book which has been passed down within the family for generations. The grandson is sure he won't like the story, with a romance at its core, he prefers something with lots of action and "no kissing", but he lets grandfather continue, because he doesn't want to hurt his feelings. The story centers on Buttercup, a former farm girl who has been chosen as the princess bride to Prince Humperdinck of Florian. Buttercup does not love him, she who still laments the death of her one true love, Westley, five years ago. Westley was a hired hand on the farm, his stock answer of "as you wish" to any request she made of him which she came to understand was his way of saying that he loved her. But Westley went away to sea, only to be killed by the Dread Pirate Roberts. On a horse ride to clear her mind of her upcoming predicament of marriage, Buttercup is kidnapped by a band of bandits: Vizzini who works on his wits, and his two associates, a giant named Fezzik who works on his brawn, and a Spaniard named Inigo Montoya, who has trained himself his entire life to be an expert swordsman. They in turn are chased by the Dread Pirate Roberts himself. But chasing them all is the Prince, and his men led by Count Tyrone Rugen. What happens to these collectives is dependent partly on Buttercup, who does not want to marry the Prince, and may see other options as lesser evils, and partly on the other motives of individuals within the groups. But a larger question is what the grandson will think of the story as it proceeds and at its end, especially as he sees justice as high a priority as action

Beyond being in the same class at Shermer High School in Shermer, Illinois, Claire Standish, Andrew Clark, John Bender, Brian Johnson and Allison Reynolds have little in common, and with the exception of Claire and Andrew, do not associate with each other in school. In the simplest and in their own terms, Claire is a princess, Andrew an athlete, John a criminal, Brian a brain, and Allison a basket case. But one other thing they do have in common is a nine-hour detention in the school library together on Saturday, March 24, 1984, under the direction of Richard Vernon, supervising from his office across the hall. Each is required to write a minimum one-thousand-word essay during that time about who they think they are. At the beginning of those nine hours, each, if they were indeed planning on writing that essay, would probably write something close to what the world sees of them, and what they have been brainwashed into believing of themselves. The movie begins with Superman saving Paris from a hydrogen bomb launched by terrorists. As he successfully disarms the bomb, he hurls it into space, unknowingly releasing three Kryptonian criminals from the Phantom Zone. These criminals, General Zod (Terence Stamp), Ursa (Sarah Douglas), and Non (Jack O'Halloran), land on Earth, gaining superhuman powers under Earth's yellow sun. They embark on a path of destruction, with Zod declaring himself ruler. Superman confronts Zod and his companions in Metropolis, leading to an epic battle.

Some Fun Trivia:

In a 2004 interview, Margot Kidder claimed that Richard Donner shot enough scenes to make his own cut of the film, and that the unused footage was "somewhere in a vault". A website started a petition for Warner Bros. to allow and sponsor Donner's cut of this movie. The footage was re-edited into Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut (1980).

Gene Hackman (Lex Luthor), Ned Beatty (Otis), Valerie Perrine (Eve Teschmacher) and E.G. Marshall (The President) were the only actors not to participate in the film's re-shoots under the direction of Richard Lester.

Gene Hackman did not return to do reshoots for the second film. All of his scenes were originally filmed by Richard Donner. Other scenes shot by the new director that required Hackman used a look-a-like and a voice impersonator to add any lines needed.

Christopher Reeve felt that this was the best film in the franchise.

Joe Armstrong, an orphaned drifter will little respect for much other than martial arts, finds himself on an American Army base in The Philippines after a judge gives him a choice of enlistment or prison. On one of his first missions driving a convoy, his platoon is attacked by a group of rebels who try to steal the weapons the platoon is transporting and kidnap Patricia, the base colonel's daughter, who happens to be along for the ride. Joe rescues Patricia and gets her safely back to the base, but everyone else in the platoon is killed, leading his superiors to conclude that Joe is guilty of cowardice, collaboration or simple incompetence. At the same time, the rebel leader vows revenge against the serviceman who disrupted his plans, and sends an army of ninjas to assassinate him and bring back Patricia. If he wants to survive and save the girl, Joe's going to have to draw on every last ounce of his training.

Diane grew up in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. Her parents were John and Ann Peterson and she has one brother Dr. John M. Peterson of Montpelier, Vermont..Diane graduated from the University of Miami with a BA Degree in Drama. She did a stint as a Playboy Bunny in Great Gorge, New Jersey and then London, England. Diane got her start in New York on an acting role in Kojak. There she saw two stuntmen do a car chase and she knew she found her calling. Diane worked in New York with the Eastcoast Stuntmen's Association for two years and then moved to Los Angeles. She became the President of the Stuntwomen's Association of Motion Pictures for seven years and continues to work as an actress and stuntwoman in television and film.

On the planet Eternia, Skeletor and his dark army overthrow the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull expecting to acquire her power. He-Man, his old friend Duncan "Man-at-Arms" and his daughter Teela are attacked by Skeletor's soldiers and they defeat them. They also rescue their prisoner, the inventor and locksmith Gwildor. He explains that he was lured by Evil-Lyn that used his invention the Cosmic Key to open the gates and seize the Castle Grayskull. He-Man and his friends retrieve the prototype of the Cosmic Key trying to release the Sorceress but they are defeated by Skeletor and his army and Gwildor uses his key to open and portal for them to flee. They come to Earth but lose the key. Meanwhile, Julie Winston, who grieves the loss of her parents in a plane crash, and her boyfriend Kevin Corrigan find and activate the key, believing it is a foreign musical instrument. On Eternia, Evil-Lyn locates the Cosmic Key and Skeletor sends her with a group of mercenaries and soldiers to vanquish He-Han and his friends and bring the key back. Will they succeed?

The Running Man is an action film from 1987 directed by Paul Michael Glaser & it stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Conchita Alonso, Richard Dawson, Yaphet Kotto & more. The film is set in a dystopian United States between 2017 and 2019 and is highlighting a game show that has criminals placed in an area and given the chance to run and get away from the stalkers. Fans get to play along and request a certain stalker and make bets. Captain Ben Richards (Schwarzenegger) is placed in the game along with the 2 freedom fighters that escaped with him & the excitement starts from there. Great movie with great action, not my favorite Arnold movie but still great.

Richard Donner directed and Shane Black & Jeffrey Boam wrote it. Mel Gibson stars along side of Danny Glover as a cop on a suicidal edge since losing his wife & becoming partner to Detective Murtaugh (Danny Glover). They stumble upon a huge drug dealing operation while trying to help one of Murtaugh's old war buddies. The further the case goes along the closer they become as partners and eventually just like family. This set off a franchise of movies and a TV show years after the movies started. 1985 Action Classic: Commando Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger & Rae Dawn Chong

Arnold has many great action flicks over his career but in the 80's one of them stands out among them all and that is Commando. I think there are more one liners in this movie then most of his put together. It has a great cast in it and the action is spot on as only Arnold can bring it. The Stallone/ Arnold rivalry was big in the 80's and I believe this was Arnold's version or answer to Rambo. Who do you think made the better character?? Arnold as John Matrix or Stallone as John Rambo?

A small group of high school teens get away and run to the mountains where they learn to fight back and help in the war efforts to take back our country. Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, Jennifer Grey, Powers Boothe and more star in this great movie. I hope you are a fan of it as well and if you haven't seen it yet then please do! Growing up in the 80's meant that I was privy to all the greatest TV shows, movies, music and sports. And yes, I am bias towards this time because it's my childhood and that's what we love to talk about here are things from our childhood. I always loved sci-fi as a kid watching Star Wars, Star Trek, Buck Rogers of The 25th Century & Battlestar Galactica. Then, in 1984, Director Nick Castle and writer Jonathan R. Betuel brought us a movie called The Last Starfighter starring Lance Guest as Alex Rogan and Catherine Mary Stewart as Maggie Gordon. This movie has always been my top 10 80's movies and arguably my top 5 and recently I was able to talk with them both about the movie on my podcast. This was practically a dream come true and they were both such nice people and I hope to talk with them again on another day about some of their other projects.

Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring

In 2001, director Peter Jackson brought to the big screen the world that J.R.R. Tolkien created in his books of The Hobbit & Lord of The Rings. It was a movie with tremendous scenery, great ensemble cast and unbelievable effects to bring to life one of the greatest stories ever written. An epic adventure of 2 hobbits taking on the task of returning the ring of power to where it was created so they could destroy it before the dark lord Sauron could come back to power. Fights, wars, adventure with just enough touch of everyday humor take us through the journey as we watch the first volume of The Lord of The Rings. The episode runs long today but I don't think I could ever get any movie of The Lord of The Rings in under an hour with there being so much to talk about. :)

Reliving Predator (1987)

Remembering Chris Farley

Today we are remembering Chris Farley and his life as a comedian and actor. His SNL skits will forever play in our minds and remind us of how great he was and how funny he could be. His movies were so much fun like Beverly Hills Ninja, Black Sheep and obviously Tommy Boy. Whether he is paired up against Patrick Swayze in a Chippendale dancer audition or he is roaming the country pushing brake sales for Callahan Auto Factory, he is keeping us laughing. Chris Farley died at age 32 of a drug overdose just like his idol John Belushi. He was taken way too soon but his lifestyle was not meant for longevity. I sometimes wonder how great he could have been if he had just beat the addictions he had in life. I hope you enjoy the espisode.

Wrestling & How Pay Per View Changed Everything

A lot of us grew up watching a smaller territory wrestling organization along with the big ones like WWF & WCW & AWA. We enjoyed great television shows with bookings that led you week to week in a story that you always wanted to see played out. We got to see live shows that meant something and we had development talent to fight against the bug guys each week building up tp the main event. Then PPV came along and changed everything for everybody wrestling fan related. Was it for the better or worse? Let us know what you think!

Stallone's Greatest Character? Today We Talk Rambo!

We all had our favorite action stars in the 80's and the yall did their version of war movies it seemed and some focused on Vietnam. We had Chuck Norris doing Braddock, Arnold Schwarzenegger doing John Matrix in Commando but then we had the one unique one man army that Stallone did known as John Rambo. Overall he did five Rambo movies but we will talk the first three mostly. In the first he was fighting for himself, in the 2nd installment he goes back into action for his country to help locate American POW's in Vietnam, and in the 3rd one he is back in action to help rescue his friend and mentor Colonel Sam Trautmen. He feels no pain, has no weakness, and for me, he is the greatest Character that Stallone did in the 80's! Don't hate me Rocky fans!!!!! I love Rocky as well but Rambo is just a bad man! They are also probably my favorite 2 movies of the franchise. It's hard to beat the original and Dream Warriors was just a great movie. Robert Englund and Heather Langenkamp had a great 1st movie together and part 3 expanded on their rivalry and brought in new blood for the franchise that had us hooked from the start of the movie not to mention we get to understand the origin of Freddy and how he came about. I hope you enjoy the episode, Elm Street was my favorite 80's horror franchise.

1979's Great TV Series The Dukes of Hazzard

Straitening the curves, flattening the hills.....some day the mountain might get 'em but the law never will! in 1979 Gy Waldron made a TV series based off a movie he had also done called Moonrunners which was about a family of bootleggers. A lot of people thought it wouldn't work but 7 years later we have a successful show with tons of fans to this day & merchandise & memorabilia that could fill multiple warehouses! The show showed how a lot of southern families lived going by the bible while yet showing how still unperfect that they were and had tons of fun car chases and car jumps by Bo & Luke Duke. We had a blast discussing the show and its something I could talk all day about so I hope that you enjoy it as well and that it brings memories of those good ole boys jumping creek beds and outwitting Boss & Roscoe! The world needs a little more Uncle Jesse & a little less Boss Hogg. YeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaW!

He was in Little House On The Prairie as Andy Garvey and he was in all 10 seasons of JAG as Lt Bud Roberts Jr. He was in some great comedies in the 80's such as Summer School, Ski School and Heathers and the 3 Ninjas in 1992. He has done voiceover work on the Spiderman cartoon that ran from 1995-1998 and has played bit roles in more tv shows then I can possibly mention here. He is currently working with people helping them on their way to becoming actors/actresses or voice over artists and you can check that out or even register for a class at www.workingactorsschool.com. In Honor of Shark Week, We Are Talking About JAWS!

It's 1975, and all you have thought about since the previous summer is going back on vacation to the beach so you can splash around in the waters and have fun. That was on your mind the entire time until.......until you made the mistake of watching the new movie release of JAWS on the big screen!!! I was too young to see it at the theaters but I seen it later on as I got older and even then it made me never want to go out in the ocean past my knees in the water. This movie had people screaming in the theaters and i'm not surprised to hear that. Based off a novel by Peter Benchley, a shark is terrorizing a small resort town and it's up to the cheif Martin Brody, marine biologist Matt Hooper and local fisherman Quint to go out and hunt it down. Watch if you dare , but you will never swim in the ocean again! Just when you thought it was safe to go ack in the water ..... JAWS!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was so much more t he GI Joes, Transformers and Thundercats to buy of toys from cartoons. Joe, Transformers, Bravestarr, M.A.S.K. and more but He-Man was one of my favorites! I remember when Dolph Lundgren starred as He-Man is the 80’s movie Masters of The Universe but it was always lacking the story to make any of the fans appreciate it greatly. The story didn’t take place in Eternia, there was no sign of Orko and the sorceres was aged greatly, well today Chris and Travis want to change that. We have included stars of today that we feel can make impressions in the roles we assigned them and we included all you could want and maybe a couple of others!

Tribute To Robin Williams

Robin Williams will always hold a special place in all comedy fans hearts. He left us way to soon and had issues that nobody should have to go through. No matter how depressed he may have been he always made sure he lit up the room with his hilarity and antics that only he could pull off. He did a little bit of everything in the movies and starred on television as Mork from Ork (a spin of from Happy Days). He brought Popeye to the big screen for us, played Peter Pan and gave us some unforgettable performances such as Good Morning Vietnam, Patch Adams, Dead Poets Society & Mrs. Doubtfire.

His standup comedy was nothing like the man himself, he could match Eddie Murphy & George Carlin on the vulgarities or he coould just be outright silly. I suggest you look up Robin Williams explains golf. It is hilarious! Thank you Robin Williams for all that you brought to us, have been, currently are, and always will be sorely missed.

Wieners & Losers is a privately funded classic 80's arcade museum and Airbnb located in Winston-Salem, NC. Wieners & Losers will open on occasional weekends. It is our effort to keep the classics alive and thus all proceeds via fundraising go toward classic arcade game restoration projects. Interview With Model Lori Tucker

We have a very special guest for you this week by the name of Lori Tucker. Lori was in so many things in the 80's and you probably seen her & never knew it. Tons of commercials, catalog modeling, some TV spots on Airwolf, Family Feud and others but she may be the most well known as being one of the *HOT* teachers in Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" music video on MTV. She worked with other artists as well such as Jermaine Jackson, Rick James, Roger Waters, LA Guns and more. She is active in some charitable events such as the Patrick Warburton event for St. Jude Hospital and she is here with us today to talk to us about her past career and some things she has going on today. Everybody wants to have their own man cave, she shed, room of collectibles... it doesn't matter what you call it, it all comes down to the same thing. We want our toys and we want to be able to show them off and talk about them! From items that you seen on TV & in the movies to items from your childhood and youth, there are things that you wish you had now in a room where you can just sit & enjoy them and reminisce. Memories are a strong thing to have and some memories are tied directly to some of these objects and when it comes down to it they make you feel good. They make you remember a better, more fun & simpler time in your life that you want to escape too.
