About Janiah Miller (she/her)

Janiah Miller (she/her) is a dedicated advocate with experience in Black Feminist organizer with expierence as an cross-movement organizer, campaign managemer, and political strategist. She currently serves as the Senior Campaigns Organizer at Black Feminist Future, advancing the transformative power of Black feminisms for collective liberation.

Her career began at Cincinnati City Hall, where she led community organizing during the pandemic and civil unrest. She contributed to police accountability reforms, fought for affordable housing through legal action against exploitative landlords, and elevated political awareness on housing justice.

The first woman to serve as President of the Southwest Ohio Young Black Democrats, Janiah has received the NAACP Outstanding Community Service award. She holds a Master of Public Administration in Social Justice and a certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Cincinnati, and a BA in Integrative Studies from Northern Kentucky University.

Executive Director at Leadership for Democracy and Social Justice

Chris Torres has over 15 years’ experience as a community organizer, electoral campaigner, and movement strategist. He’s worked for a variety of progressive organizations and electoral campaigns including Community Change Action, The Industrial Areas Foundation, New Organizing Institute, The Working Families Party, National Immigration Forum, and United We Dream. He got his start organizing the political campaigns for U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (RI) and former President Barack Obama. Most recently, Chris served as MoveOn’s Political Director where he mobilized voters, small-dollar donations, and endorsements to elect progressive candidates and to advance public policy. Chris is dedicated to strengthening the progressive movement. In addition to his work, he serves on the board of the Alliance for Justice, is a trainer with the Leading Change Network, and is a master’s student at the CUNY School of Labor & Urban Studies (SLU).

On the 5th day of our roadtrip, Bear and I finally get settled at a campsite with time to reflect and chill. On the drive, I was able to reflect on the U.S. and how we were back in Trump's America. I speak to my own ancestral history and how it intersects with the larger story of the United State and settler colonialism. Janelle Johnson Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, is a wife, mother, and the Founder of Bridges Family Life Center - a neurodiversity-affirming family therapy and consulting practice in North Carolina. An award-winning mental health leader and neurodiversity advocate with lived experience, her pioneering methods for serving underrepresented families led to her election as the first Black president of the NC Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Also her writing on neurodiversity and disability is featured as one of 30 international thought leaders in a 2024 Oxford University Press anthology on anti-racism. Janelle is now a doctoral candidate at NC State University, leading research on neurodiversity-affirming approaches to institutional policy change in higher education and healthcare. A lifelong Star Wars fend, she blends pop culture with politics to inspire action and build community. Natalie is a progressive communications strategist with over a decade of experience advancing the rights of women, survivors, and communities of color. She currently works in the reproductive rights movement and has previously served on Senator Elizabeth Warren’s digital team and as Communications Manager at UltraViolet, where her campaigns reached tens of millions.
