However, after being worn down by all of you, I have finally decided to give in and watch Star Trek on our show... you bunch of rubes. But will Star Trek live up to its lofty legacy? They should have just called this "New Earth." Simple. To the point. I'm always suspicious of the latin titled episodes of Star Trek. There are some good ones to be sure, but sometimes I think they use fancy sounding names to make the stories feel like they're going to be better than they turn out to be. I guess we can determine if this is actually intelligent storytelling, or just another pretentious episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.

Well, folks, we've finally made it to the best Star Trek series of them all, and we will hear no other opinions on the matter. Strangely though, for being the unabashed greatest of them all, this series is still fairly niche and doesn't get the attention it deserves. As a result, we have taken it upon ourselves to become the emissaries of this beloved show and spread its word to the world. Convert yourself to the truth as we watch this premiere episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

This is the beginning of part five of our 100 episode list, Venturing Through The Universe, in which we're examining how the Star Trek franchise has grown and changed over its history. In this batch of episodes, we're going to be looking at Deep Space Nine & The End of TNG--that period of time when there was not one, but two Star Trek shows on at the same time! This will be a nineteen episode selection comprised of episodes from the first and second seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, as well as episodes from the sixth and seventh Seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1993-94).

Either way, if you need a potty break, now's your chance, because we've got another Wesley episode on our hands. Yes, even though he's had his final mission, he's back for even more boy genius shenanigans. But who knows, maybe it won't be a crappy episode, despite its suggestive title. I wonder what it would feel like to be hit by Qpid's arrow. I mean talk about a big bang. Let's hope that's what we get there, as Star Trek's attempts at romance usually end in a little whimper. But who knows, we are also getting Robin Hood this week, so maybe they'll finally hit the bullseye. Or maybe the producers will split Robin's romantic arrow and curse the franchise to eternal un-sexiness. Hold your breath as we wait and see what happens in this silly little romp episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

"Data's Day"

You don't know a person until you've walked a mile in their shoes. If that person is someone who serves aboard the Enterprise-D, that fortunately means a gentle stroll down softly carpeted, well lit corridors. I wonder if that would get dull though, endlessly enjoying a casual walk from duty assignment to duty assignment. Maybe day-to-day life on the Enterprise is actually insufferably boring and we only ever see the good bits. Let's see if we can find out as we take a look at the in-between bits in this episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Well, here we are, The Godfather Part II of TNG. The question is which part is better? I'm more of a part one guy myself, that ending moment is just so classic. But you know, I really like how they continue the story in the second one. All the stuff with Robert De Niro as young Vito is fantastic. Wait, what were we talking about again? Oh yeah, Riker and the Borg and stuff. Well, let's see how TNG does its own legendary follow-up in this classic sequel episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
