After graduating high school, Allan chose to play basketball at Fullerton College where he was a team captain and scholar-athlete for 3years. His work ethic on and off the court resulted in being ranked one of the top junior college shooting guards on the west coast and earned a full scholarship to the Div 1, University of the Pacific (UOP). At UOP, he was part of a team that won back-to-back Big West Championship (2004 & 2005) with 2 NCAA Tournament appearances and ranked 15th nationally in 2005.

After graduating from UOP with a business degree, Allan extended his basketball career by playing in several semi pro leagues (ABA, IBL, WCBL, Drew) throughout the states from 2005 – 2013. He was selected to represent the IBL and WCBL in 2 tours to China. In between seasons Allan would give private lessons and coach at his alma mater, Savanna. This experience inspired Allan to start the Advanced Player Basketball League (APBL), a youth basketball league in the city of La Palma. The APBL and private training lessons eventually evolved into the founding of Baller 4 Life Sports Training.

Allan curently lives in Las Vegas and is the program Director of our Las Vegas chapter. He is also the CEO of HOOPr, a new social media platform for basketball training

https://starvetalk.captivate.fm/episode/s-tarve-talk-episode-28-allan-purnell

<itunes:image href="https://artwork.captivate.fm/09864384-30be-4b5b-954b-c4fe4fdef621/ndNHtojFJk7I1ac9zanKwoB_.png"/>
J Haleem

<itunes:duration>01:00:12</itunes:duration><itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:episodeType>full</itunes:episodeType><itunes:season>2</itunes:season><itunes:episode>28</itunes:episode><itunes:season>2</itunes:season><podcast:episode>28</podcast:episode><podcast:season>2</podcast:season><itunes:author>J Haleem</itunes:author>

S.T.A.R.V.E. That’s how old he was when he started cutting hair. A career, unbeknownst to him at the time, that would last him 20 years. Being an entrepreneur and small business owner in North Las Vegas and seeing not only the discrepancies, but the disparities are what lead Twixx to run for Mayor of North Las Vegas.
