It is also where she began experiencing the difficulties that persons with disabilities, their families and guardians, face; struggling to navigate resources, regulations; running into hurdles, barriers, and information silos, seemingly at every turn. Katie coordinates training and technical assistance for service providers and presents on personalized employment support for people with disabilities across the state of Kentucky and nationally. Katie serves as the president of the Kentucky Chapter of APSE and sits on the national board of APSE.

Katie holds a bachelor of arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and a master of social work from the University of Kentucky.
