The Teaching Culture Cast has been on a planning hiatus for the last little while, but now I'm refreshed and ready to start bringing you more great teaching content again.
WE HAVE A NEW FORMAT for the return of the show - no more Seasons but instead we'll have two types of episodes: our standard Professional Development interviews, and a discussion episode with my new co-host! We'll be talking teaching news, issues and addressing your questions and comments on the show. </itunes:summary><itunes:author>Matthew Bliss</itunes:author>

Kyle Wood and Art, Gamification & PBL
<itunes:title>Kyle Wood and Art, Gamification & PBL</itunes:title>

Find Kyle Wood and his podcasts:

"WhoARTed" podcast website: https://www.whoartedpodcast.com/
"Art Smart (from Who ARTed)": https://pod.link/1603422346

Twitter: @WoodArtEd

Keep up to date with our content!

Visit our new website: https://www.teachingculturecast.com/

Follow us on the socials!
Instagram: @teachingculturecast.
Twitter: @teachcultcast.

Join the Australian Teaching Community on Reddit: /r/AustralianTeachers

Connect with Matthew Bliss on LinkedIn: Matthew Bliss (LinkedIn)

Got questions, comments or would like to be featured in an episode? With over a decade of teaching to his name, he has integrated Gamification elements to a Project-Based Learning approach using the TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behaviours) model as a guide. It sounds like a lot of buzzwords, but Kyle's teaching mindset is as genuine as they come, with a lot to offer us as an example.

In this week's episode, Kyle tells us about what its like to teach in the U.S.A., unpacks his teaching methodology and shares some of the inspiration for his own podcast: "WhoARTed?". As a fellow podcaster, he is happy to share his experiences with us but you should check out his podcast as well!

The new pandemic regulations, managing staff and student absences... it can all be a bit much!

This week Vinay is talking to us about his path as a mental health professional in learning and development, the strategies he has learned in his career to manage mental health effectively, and how they can apply to teachers and students. The difference Vinay offers on this episode is a perspective that prioritises teachers, not just strategies for the classroom.

Stay safe and take care of yourself and your family!

In this week's episode, Tim is a teacher of many years that has worked primarily in metropolitan schools but made the tree-change a few years ago to a rural school. Teaching secondary outside of main cities is a bit different, and Tim shares the differences he found in the transition as well as his approach to relational teaching as a priority for his classes.

This week we talk to Scott, a Victorian Secondary teacher and Media expert with an approach to teaching that employs the theory alongside practical work in very unique applications. We hear about his approach to mentoring a Pre-Service Teacher during their practice, pivoting during a difficult time in the world and how that pivot benefited the students and the PST.

We're the home of community and culture for teachers, and we're kicking off this season by chatting to Anna, a teacher of over 20 years, about the ins and outs of Pre-Service Teacher practice in schools.

When you study teaching, you're required to complete a set amount of practice by teaching through placement programs. The preparation for these is not always as thorough as we'd like, so I ask Anna about the basic aspects of Pre-Service Teaching and some best practice advice for those getting ready to teach.
