I picked up 5 random books at the library, and today we're finding out if I can predict which will be my most favorite, which will be my least favorite, and which ones will end up somewhere in between!

The 5 books are: Piranesi, The Essex Serpent, The Devil and the Dark Water, and two classic mysteries by the queen of mystery, Agatha Christie. Which of these will I love? Which will I hate? How well do I know my own reading taste? Or will I accidentally reveal that I have no idea what I'm doing??

How can we, as readers, responsibly consume historical fiction? What do authors of historical fiction owe to their real-life inspirations? What do they owe to us, their audience? And what do I mean by fictionalized history, anyway?
