What does it take to grow a small rural church in one of the most remote corners of the country? In this episode of the 4:16 Interview Series, Wade Purdom shares his journey of serving the church of Christ in Boundary County, Idaho. From just 25 members when he and his wife arrived to now averaging around 80, Wade reflects on God’s providence, the unique challenges of “frontier” ministry, and the blessings of raising a family in a community that feels both isolated and yet deeply connected. His story is one of perseverance, prayer, and hope for the church’s future in the Inland Northwest.

Wade is a 2007 graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching, has a background working in Apologetics, and spent several years in China teaching English and studying the Bible with those who had an interest.

The Johnson family moved to northern Idaho 7 years ago, purchased property, and began living “off-grid” and working toward self-sustainability and showing others how to do so. Many, through their efforts and influence, have obeyed the Gospel.

Wayne & Cindy interview Riley Nelson about the work at Richmond Hill, GA and the Lord’s Church in the South Georgia area. Riley and his wife, Susie have labored with the congregation in Richmond Hill for nearly 33 years. Riley now serves as one of the elders, as well as the minister for the church there. The work in South Georgia overall is seen as a difficult mission field. Not only are preachers needed, but also families who might consider coming into the area to help the congregations have assets for potential growth in each of those areas.

Jason and his wife Sarah with their two boys have lived in Vermont for the last 12 or so years and have seen the congregation with elders before covid when the men would rotate the preaching duties, through COVID and the loss of an eldership, & when Jason stepped into the role of the preacher for the congregation during COVID in 2020. Jason is a meteorologist by trade but a servant in the Kingdom helping members weather the storms of their lives.
