Our youth are not just our future. They are also our now. How to communicate with them today? How to put in them the ability to do what they need to do to be productive citizens as they continue to grow and progress? What is the difference between Young Life ministry and youth ministry in churches? How Covid 19 impacted the ability to communicate with young people at the local Young Life Milwaukee level? How to get their attention when they are distracted by all of the technology today? Tim and Sterling share their experiences and thoughts on the subject, and give us some recommendations for better communication with others, especially with our youth.

07:30 – Young life camp is about ministry. It is fun. It is about caring for kids, caring for them as a person. It begins with a relationship.

16:00 – Christ is the One that changes the heart. The more they know Jesus and His love for them, and they fall in love with Him, God will begin to take away those things that are unlike Him. We depend on Holy Spirit. By the time you leave, you’ll know Jesus.

04:15 – We saw that there were deficiencies in people’s lives, and wanted to be a solution to that deficiency. We wanted them to understand that the Gospel came to them on its way to somebody else. We want to get people mobilized and get them where they are supposed to be.  

12:20 – Two to three years before the pandemic we started streaming before it was the popular thing to do. And when this pandemic hit, we were already ahead of the game, and we have converted everybody over to digital giving.

13:58 – You have to make some adjustments. Because a lot of times you find that churches are built to last but they are not built to change. And you have to build to change if you want to be a sustainable ministry.

06:10 - The journey for believing for me started as a youngster being born with a respiratory condition, premature, and … 53 years later, I’m still here, so we praise God for that.

14:15 – We teach children lessons and life lessons, and things of that nature, and we talk… but your objective really is to plant in them the seeds that allow for decision making. - I would challenge them to think in terms of decision making, because whether they are six or sixteen, it’s still a choice.

18:00 – We push the tangibles – education, connections… as the roadmap to success, and we push the drive to success and the need to be successful based on external things. But it actually starts with you.  It starts with personal acceptance.
