Welcome to Issue 20 of Exchange Traded Fridays for the week ending 3rd December 2021. Can you believe we are nearly done with 2021? What a journey it has been! Starting back in mid-July this year and leading all the way to now. It had initially just been something to do in order to share interesting news and grew to include a podcast to read through the news (recorded each Thursday night) and all shared at the same time. Read, watch, listen.

Given that it is the Christmas holiday period soon, we are going to put a hold to the podcast and videos of these newsletters until the new year. We'll still produce the weekly newsletter though so keep an eye out on that but it has been a pleasure to serve these up for our small but growing audience. Thank you!

Back to the news and this week in between inflation and Omicron Covid-19 variant concerns we saw a new ESG ETF thanks to Perpetual announcing their GIVE fund and they're soon to be launching an innovation fund too (ticker IDEA). We also the correlation between listed and unlisted private equity which gives strength to the GPEQ ETF from VanEck.

Welcome to Issue 17 of Exchange Traded Fridays for the week ending 12th November 2021. In this week's news we had our market update on ausbiz as well as a blog for the Australian Shareholders Association. On ausbiz, this was for the October 2021 data review thanks to new data from the ASX and we also spoke about our dive under the hood of crypto/blockchain based ETFs (DIGA, CRYP and FTEC). For the ASA, it was a follow up blog to a video we did last week with their CEO, Rachel Waterhouse and we also saw the announcement of registrations of interest in VanEck's local bitcoin ETF filing so look out for that.

In the education section we feature the Passive Investing Australia site which has some amazing content for those getting started in this space.

In today’s episode we speak with Damon Gosen, Director of Business Development at VanEck Australia, a global ETF Issuer. In this week's news we saw some stuff on the gender pay gap and how ETFs are helping, investors getting in the clean energy sector and globally there was more chatter on bitcoin ETFs.

We also have another update to the ETFtracker app as it continues to journey towards becoming even more useful for users. This time it was about combinations and bringing together the ETF Holdings Comparisons tool with the main ETFtracker app. We'll still run both for a bit longer but eventually you'll only need to go to one page to get the data you need to help you with your investing.

Also this week, we spoke with Angel Zhong of RMIT for our Interviews with Experts. She gave us the research/academic view on ETFs and trading (see 28:27).

Elsewhere in the news we saw talk about the local ETF market projecting growth to $200 billion in 2 years and $140 billion by the end of this year (see 15:13) as well as a need to look under the hood of ETFs in an article from Morningstar (17:40).
