After surviving a 10 year marriage to a physically abusive ex-spouse, she left a professional modeling and acting career and sold her two nail salons to start Fresh Spirit Wellness for Women, Inc. a nonprofit organization assisting domestic violence survivors and families affected by this crisis to help them Reclaim their Power. She since amassed a Doctorial degree in counseling, became an empowerment life coach, authored 5 books, opened Dr. Conte’s Healing House and recently ended her Dr. Conte Radio show on Amazing 102.5 FM in Houston Texas.
