Later, he was director of the Moscow office of the world’s leading corporate investigation and business intelligence firm. He is the author of the critically-acclaimed book, Investigating the Russian Mafia, and has spoken around the world on crime in the former Soviet Union.

River Road Park! It is open and we are thrilled to hear the story and learn how everyone came together for this project. We meet Lissette Jimenez from the City of Boerne Parks and Recreation department. She is joined by Keith Brady, the founder and President of Agave Design Studio. We learn a lot about the River Road Park project and the legacy of local. Find your favorite master plan and get involved!

Running along Cibolo Creek, River Road Park is one of the most popular parks in Boerne. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the paved Cibolo Trail spanning the length of the park or drop a hook in the water (license required) and see what you catch.

The River Road Park Bank Stabilization project began in September of 2023 with several focus areas, the first being the stabilization and restoration of the bank of Cibolo Creek which had eroded significantly over the years. With the creekbank restored, more clearly defined pedestrian access points have been prioritized along with a buffer space between the sidewalk and the water to maintain the creek edge. Thousands of native plants and vegetation were also planted to improve stormwater runoff.

The renovations, which go beyond landscaping to include new interpretive signs, a 250-foot pedestrian boardwalk, and three additional fishing piers, also focus on unseen improvements like the removal of 4,000 cubic yards sediment from the river, as highlighted by Parks and Recreation Director Lissette Jimenez.

River Road Park is right across the street from several local restaurants and shops. Be sure to use the designated pedestrian crossing while grabbing a bite to eat. You'll be sure to see the variety of wild ducks and geese that call the park home, but please don't feed them.

Jennifer Milton is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Chief Administrative Officer at the University Health Transplant Institute, where she is charged to integrate the business, operational, quality, and strategic efforts for University of Texas Health San Antonio and the University Health System.

University Health Transplant Institute performs adult and pediatric liver, kidney and lung transplant and is the home of the Center for Life, a facility dedicated to the care of tissue and organ donors. The Center for Life is proud to partner with the South Texas Blood and Tissue, San Antonio Eye Bank and Texas Organ Sharing Alliance, a partnership that has impacted  over 70,000 recipients of organ, tissue and corneas since its opening in just 2020.

Jennifer entered the field of transplantation almost thirty years ago as an organ donation nurse  coordinator in South Carolina and refers to her very first experiences with donor families as her  continued source of passion for this field. Jennifer has volunteered on numerous local and  national nonprofit boards including Past Chair of the UNOS Policy Oversight Committee, Texas Kidney Foundation and she serves as the current Chair of Donate Life America which recently  launched the National Living Donor Registry. She serves as a Primary Investigator for several  research endeavors, has published and presented extensively on issues impacting the field of  donation and transplantation. She has been honored by the San Antonio Business Journal as a  Health Care Hero, received the Batz Foundation Weezie Hero award, and was named the 2022  Heckenkemper Leader in US Transplant Administration.

Hill Country Preserve

The Albert & Bessie Kronkosky State Natural Area will protect a very special piece of the Hill Country. You’ll be able to see wildlife in natural settings, hear coyotes in the distance, view stars to the northwest, and go camping and hiking.

Family ranch

Albert and Bessie Kronkosky began buying property in this area in 1946. By 1973, they were hunting, taking photos, and entertaining guests on their 3,814-acre ranch. The couple willed their beloved land to the state of Texas to protect it from development.

Texas Parks & Wildlife Department accepted the donation of the ranch in March 2011.

Unique features

A state natural area is a piece of land with unique natural, cultural and historical features. Protecting and managing these features is our highest priority.

Conservation

We have found several rare or endangered Hill Country species here. These include the golden-cheeked warbler, alligator lizard, sycamore-leaf snowbell, big-toothed maple,  Boerne bean and Texas spring salamander.

The site also features interesting geology due to several springs and weeps.

Recreation

When this site opens, you’ll be able to camp, backpack and hike. We’ll also offer limited mountain biking.

Additionally, the Booster Club shall assist in raising funds to be used for aviation and academic scholarships as well as providing meals, entry fees, equipment, supplies, travel expenses, etc. necessary for the support and improvement of the AFJROTC program. Over the course of his career he has served in many communal and educational roles including;  Associate Rabbi, Cantor, Program and Youth Director, Synagogue Administrator, Senior Educational Administrator, Principal and more.  He has directed dozens of educational, spiritual and chaplaincy programs. Rabbi Marrus is passionate about Jewish education and believes deeply in the relevance and beauty of our traditions and faith. He is a Birthright fellow, frequently leading educational trips for young adults to Israel. He holds a Bachelors of Religious Studies from Rabbinical College of America and a Semicha Degree(Rabbinical Ordination) from the Central Lubavitch Yeshiva in Brooklyn, NY and Yeshivat Chabad Tzfat, Israel.

Rabbi Marrus lives in Boerne Texas with his wife Malkie and together are blessed with six wonderful children (and children in-law) and are enjoying being grandparents.

• Successfully passed a Border Security bill with bipartisan approval and support, laying the foundation for Operation Lone Star.

• Defeated numerous detrimental legislative bills that posed a threat to conservative values.
