That’s the lazy loser approach.

If people are not buying from you it’s because you either

a) Haven’t built enough trust
b) Haven’t sold them the value
c) Haven’t targeted the right clients

You need to …

RAISE your VALUE

BUILD your SELF BELIEF

INCREASE your AUTHORITY

TARGET your IDEAL CLIENTS

FOCUS on your UNIQUE OFFER

Don’t let doubts get in your way of success.

The ONLY reason you feel the need to lower your rates is because you got sold.

You were sold by others that you weren’t valuable enough.

Stop buying other people’s BS!

Raise your game and raise your rates.

REMEMBER: You are either selling or being sold.

96: Discover Your Zone of Genius

I went through an emotional breakdown.

It felt like I was building a business on quicksand.
Working tirelessly to keep it afloat.

I felt heavy, exhausted and drained.
Waiting for each day to end.

Started to doubt myself and my abilities.
Thinking I was an imposter.

And then with the help of a friend I realised that I was operating outside my zone of genius.

It was like I woke up from a bad dream. I felt renewed, invigorated. I felt alive again!

When i’m in my zone of genius it doesn’t feel like work.
It feels like play.

It almost feels like I shouldn’t get paid for doing this.
I feel empowered and alive.

My zone of genius is educating, inspiring and empowering others to become greater versions of themselves.

To help them uncover their unique value they bring to the world.

To help them become so magnetically attractive that people are lining up to work with them.

To help them get in front of thousands of ideal clients while having a ton of fun.

I kept telling my 10 year old to grow up and stop crying.

Today I attended a workshop on listening and realised that I wasn’t allowing my son to naturally express himself.

When we don’t allow our children to express themselves naturally they will express themselves unnaturally in the forms of escapism, addiction, attention seeking etc.

It was a huge awakening for me. Not only as a parent but as a husband, friend and businessman.

The importance of self expression is crucial to healthy relationships.

Being listened to without judgement and being free to express yourself fully in a safe environment is a basic human need.

Something as simple as unbiased listening can be one of the most powerful gifts we can give to people (including ourselves).

90: Rise Above Your Emotions

My emotions were running wild again.

A fight was breaking out and I found myself in an all too familiar situation.

A battle of the mind with opposing thoughts wrestling each other in the ring.

Fear, Desire, Passion, Doubt, Pressure and Willpower were all going at each other.

The usual response was fight or flight.

Either get caught in the middle of it or run away. There was that familiar guy known as ‘Escape’ telling me to run and hide.

But then something interesting happened. A paradigm shift.

I paused and observed. I asked myself why I had to either fight or run. Why can’t I not just stay and observe?

So that’s what I did. And a magical thing happened. Nothing.

I took a step back outside of myself and became an unbiased observer.

It was powerfully liberating. I felt in total control because I let go.
I felt peaceful and wholesome because I tapped in to something Godly.

Even more destructive than the event that brought about the emotion in the first place.

Self acceptance, on the other hand, is one of the most powerful.

When we turn our self pity into self acceptance we become stronger, more creative, more at peace.

We attract positivity instead of negativity into our lives.

Pity Enables. Acceptance Empowers.

The online ‘Guru’s’ make it look so easy. They sell you the dream life. They talk about being ‘successful’

Doing honest work to feed my family is real success.

When you dream too much you never wake up.

Wake up to the reality that responsibility, hard work and commitment cannot be replaced by passion.

Our grandparents worked hard to make a living. They didn’t binge watch inspirational videos on YouTube.

There’s too many starving artists. Too many broke online celebrities.

Stop trying to chase a dream and focus on making a living.

Passion doesn’t pay the bills.

54: Don’t Forget Your Legs

I hated being called skinny.

So I joined a gym and bulked up.

But I only worked out my upper body and not my legs.
The legs are hidden and they take a long time to see results.
It’s easy to build big biceps and a nice chest so the legs get pushed off.

I realized that I was making a big mistake.

The legs are the foundation of your body.
They hold everything else up.

So many people neglect their foundations because people only see the outside and it’s easier to impress others with a good looking exterior.

But your foundation is everything. In business, relationships, health. Your foundation is what everything else is built upon.

Don’t neglect the real work for the quick wins.

True success takes patience and hard work.

My children quote wise words from Master Shifu from Kung Fu Panda.

We all need role models in our lives. People we look up to.

You can learn anything you set your heart on all you need is to find someone who is a master at it and shadow them.

But too many masters can create a lack of focus and leave us feeling overwhelmed.

In today’s episode of The Daniel Gefen Show I talk about the importance of choosing the right master and who I have chosen to shadow for the next 6 months.

48: Guaranteed to Succeed

My son was out of control.

He refused to listen and created a whole scene in public.

The more my wife threatened him with punishments the more angry he got.

I decided to try something new.

I told him how incredible he was and how much I love him.

At first he mocked me and said I was lying.

But I persisted. “I really do think you’re amazing and wonderful”

I noticed a slight smile crack through his angry face.

“I love you no matter what you say or do.”

He tried to keep his angry face but it started to fade.

“I love your hugs. You give the best hugs in the world. Can I have a hug?”

The angry face melted away like ice melting in the hot sun.

He threw himself into my arms and I just held him for a while.

He then went and gave my wife a hug and said he was sorry.

Here’s the secret. Find the good in everyone.

It’s easy to see the bad but when we focus on the good we bring out the best.

It works with anyone. Because we all just want to be loved. We all just want to be accepted.

This also works when we catch ourselves doing something right. We are so hard on ourselves. Always looking for flaws and cracks. Doubting ourselves. Beating ourselves up.

When we focus on the bad we reveal more bad but when we focus on the good we reveal more good.

They say life has no guarantees.

I disagree.

If you practice focusing on the good you will bring out the best in everyone. Including yourself.

I guarantee it.

44: Despair is Deadly

I used to think sadness was bad.

I would avoid feeling sad at all cost.

Then I watched an incredible movie with my kids called ‘Inside Out’ where it showed how sadness is actually good and that every emotion has it’s time and place. Even anger.

Not only is sadness not bad but it’s necessary. Instead of avoiding it we must embrace it. We need to express all our emotions or we become a slave to them.

Suppressing them is like building a dam in front of a raging river.
Eventually the dam will be broken and the results can be devastating.

There is however, ONE emotion that is pure evil.
It has no place and should be uprooted entirely.

35: Too Many Open Tabs

Computers and phones slow down when there are too many tabs open or apps running … well our brains work the same way.

When you have too many ‘open windows’ or ‘apps running’ in your head your thought process slows down. You get overwhelmed. You feel emotionally drained. Even physically tired.

If you don’t start closing some windows you will eventually crash like an overworked computer..

One reason why children are so full of life and filled with creativity and joy is because they don’t have so many tabs open.

They focus entirely on what they are doing in that moment.

In fact it keeps you alive!

It’s the WORRYING about stress that kills people.

Think about old people who retire and have nothing to do.
They sit in an old age home and their bodies deteriorate quicker.

Stress is what causes muscles to strengthen.

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Stress is healthy. Worrying about stress isn’t.

To the person that stole my phone.

I don’t know who you are but I forgive you.

You must be in a pretty bad place to steal someone’s personal possessions.

I want to thank you for helping me realise that I am fortunate enough to be able to earn money in a respectful way.

I want to thank you for reminding me that money comes and goes and that material possessions are temporary.

I want to thank you for reminding me to appreciate the things that are more important to me in life than a piece of attractive metal.

If the money from my phone brings you a little relief from the pain you are in then I am glad to be of indirect service.

May you find peace in yourself and may you one day be guided out of your darkness and into the light that is always waiting to be found within each human being.
