Each month, we pause in God’s presence and pray together for our classrooms, students, and schools. I’m sharing these prayer gatherings here on the podcast so you can return to them anytime you need to reset, refocus, and be strengthened.

The Classroom Didn’t Change — I Did

In this episode, I share what God has been walking me through over the past few months in my classroom. Through time in the Word, prayer, fasting, and sitting with 1 Corinthians 13, God began to show me areas in my heart that needed to shift.

The classroom situations didn’t fully change but my perspective did.

I talk about how God used everyday classroom moments to reveal what was in me, refine my responses, and teach me what it truly looks like to walk in love as a teacher.

If you’re in a challenging classroom season, feeling tired, or sensing that God is working on your heart, this episode is an encouragement to let Him continue the work.

Growth doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means God is still working.

This month, our focus is simple but foundational: We cannot give what we have not first received.

As teachers, we pour constantly — into students, families, coworkers, and communities. But love flows best from a heart that is rooted and renewed. In this Pause + Pray gathering, we center ourselves in the Father’s everlasting love, renew our minds through His Word, and commit to abiding daily so we can lead from overflow instead of exhaustion.

During this prayer experience, we:

• Receive and reflect on God’s everlasting love

• Renew our minds to see through His lens, not the world’s

• Commit to abiding daily through consistent time in His Word

• Pray from a place of being rooted — not reactive

• Lift up our students, classrooms, staff, and school environments

• Remember that we are not powerless — we carry His Word, and He dwells within us

Teachers, Release What’s Heavy. Listen. Move. Let God Lead.

This episode flows from something we recently walked through inside the Teaching With Jesus Community — a 3-day experience called A Sacred Pause.

Over those three days, we focused on:

Releasing what’s heavy
Slowing down enough to listen
Walking forward in obedience

But here’s what I’ve been realizing personally…

We can’t sustain obedience from burnout.
We can’t respond well from emptiness.
We can’t pour into our students from a place where we feel dry.
We can’t give what we haven’t first received.

And that’s where this next season is leading — learning how to receive the Father’s love before trying to give it away.

Help Is on the Way: A Reminder for Every Christian Teacher

Encouragement for Christian Teachers: Reminders to Trust Him in Every Season

In this episode, I am sharing some personal and powerful reminders God has been giving me lately from moments in the classroom to quiet times at home. Some of them came through Scripture, others through conversations, tears, or even unexpected encouragement. But each one has pointed me back to the truth of who I am in Christ.

If you’ve been feeling weary, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next step, I want you to know this: God sees you. He’s strengthening you. And He’s walking with you through it all.

I pray this episode reminds you of these truths:

You are who God says you are — not what your situation says
You can stand in His strength, not your own
You are still anointed, appointed, and equipped to bear fruit — even in a hard season

In today’s episode, I’m diving into the power of praying as a teacher. Depending on where you teach, you may not be able to pray out loud with your students but your personal prayer as a teacher can still make a difference. When you start your day with God and invite Him into your classroom through quiet, intentional prayer, everything begins to shift.

Prayer is where I surrender my plans, realign with God’s purpose, and receive the strength I need to lead with grace. And I want to remind you your prayers matter. They're shaping the atmosphere of your classroom before a single lesson is taught.

🙏 What prayer really is and how it can guide your day
💡 Why prayer is more about surrender than performance

In this second episode of the Carried by Grace series, I’m sharing how to find true peace — not when the storm ends, but right in the middle of it.

Peace is not the absence of chaos; rather, it is the perspective that God is in control and that He is with you every step of the way.
In times of turmoil, true peace is found through steadfast trust in God's presence.
You don’t have to carry anxiety or grief alone — His peace is your anchor.
Take time to sit with Him, release what’s heavy, and steady your heart in His Word.
God does not expect us to navigate life's storms in isolation; community and support are vital.

💜 A little behind-the-scenes: We had a few tech hiccups recording this episode (my microphone and headphones gave me a run for my money!). I ended up recording on my iPad — and it almost stole my peace. Be Still and Know: Trusting God’s Timing in Every Season

Have you ever found yourself rushing ahead, trying to make something happen in your own strength? Through two simple, yet powerful moments while driving, God showed me:

Why rushing ahead can cause unnecessary harm
How waiting protects us and positions us for His promises
Why trusting God's pace is just as important as trusting His promises

If you're in a season where you're tired of waiting or tempted to move before He says “go” this conversation is for you.“ Key Verse: Psalm 46:10 AMP “Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.”

Be more concerned with God’s voice than people’s opinions.
Trust that God’s timing is always protective and perfect—even when you can't see what's ahead.

Trusting God When Obedience Feels Heavy and Hard

Have you ever known exactly what God told you to do but doing it feels heavy, inconvenient, or even just plain hard?

In this honest and personal episode, I share how God gently called me back to the podcast after a season of resistance, wrestling, and a desire for simplicity. What started as a break became a heart check and a reminder that obedience still matters, even when it requires a restart.

If you’ve been sitting on something God told you to do (like writing the book, starting the business, or stepping into a new role) this episode is for you. You’re not behind. You’re not disqualified. You’re just being invited to say yes again.

The Power of Praise: Laying It Down at Jesus’ Feet

This week, I’m sharing how praise can shift our perspective and how we can truly lay our burdens at Jesus’ feet. Just like Joseph praised his way out of the pit, we have to lift our hands, magnify our God, and trust Him to sustain us.

Maybe this week has felt heavy for you. Maybe you’ve found yourself frustrated, overwhelmed, or feeling like you’re just going through the motions. I get it. But here’s what I’ve learned—when we press into praise & worship and truly magnify God instead of our problems, everything begins to shift.

Reflection Questions:

What burdens have you been carrying that God is inviting you to release?
What reminders has God sent you lately to show that He is with you?

Give Your Cares to God: Finding Peace Knowing He Cares for You

Takeaways:

Surrendering your cares and anxieties to God allows you to live with peace in the midst of what is happening.
Just like a garbage man picks up trash, you must give your burdens, cares, anxieties, insecurities to God. He desires to take those things away from you because you were not created to carry them.
Meditating on God's word helps you distance yourself from worries and brings freedom.
Consistently cast your burdens onto God and trust Him completely. Consistency is key to your breakthrough.

Reflection: Take a moment to write out all your cares and worries in a letter to God. Then, as a symbol of letting go, ball it up and throw it in the trash can. Find a scripture that speaks to the area you’re surrendering and meditate on it throughout the week.

Christian Teacher Encouragement: God’s Strength for Christmas Break

Teachers, as you approach the end of the semester, remember to rely on God’s strength, not just your own. He is always there to empower you to finish the first part of the school year strong.

Scriptures:

Isaiah 40:29 AMP: He gives strength to the weary, And to him who has no might He increases power.
Psalm 54:4 NIV: Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.
Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP: Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way.]

Action Step: Take a few minutes each day to pray for strength and renewal before you start your day. Acknowledge that God is with you, empowering you to complete the tasks ahead.

Christian Teachers: Considering Your Ways to Align with God’s Purpose

In this episode, we discuss the phrase "Consider your ways." Recently, I heard these three words again during a service, and I felt God prompting me to consider my ways, especially in my role as a teacher.

Below are some questions to help you reflect:

Consider Your Ways as a Teacher: How are you handling your students? Are you interacting with them in a way that reflects God’s love and patience?
Consider Your Ways with Families: How are you engaging with your students' families? Are you building partnerships based on grace and understanding?
Consider Your Ways in Challenges: How do you approach difficult situations? Are you responding with wisdom, compassion, and love? Are you making the situations better or worse?

I’ll be honest—there are areas where I’ve had to adjust my own ways. In some cases, I found myself asking God to change others, only to hear Him say, "You can't change them, but you can pray for them. Allow me to work on you and help you see things from my perspective." This reminder has helped me approach challenging situations with more patience and understanding.

How Christian Teachers Create a Peaceful, Loving Classroom (Part 3)

Today, we will cover the next 5 ways that Christian Teachers Can Transform Their Classroom, focusing on creating a peaceful and loving classroom environment and building strong relationships.

11. Invite God’s Presence into Your Classroom/Personal Worship Time: Each day, intentionally invite God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit into your classroom. Surrender your day to Him and ask for His peace to saturate the classroom.

12. Anoint and Pray for Your Space along with praying/anointing over your students’ chairs, desks, doorways, and yourself.

13. Display Encouraging Words/Student Affirmations throughout the classroom: Post student affirmations that students say daily around the classroom. I even encourage you to have them to create posters themselves to hang up.

14. Create a wall of encouragement for yourself as a teacher: Find scripture promises to stand on throughout the year and post them in your space to keep them before you.

15. Build Relationships with Students & Connect with Other Christian Teachers: Write down at least 3 to 5 ways to build relationships with your students throughout the year and be sure to connect with other teachers.

Daily Time in the Word: Spending time in God’s word daily strengthens your faith and provides guidance. God has literally given us the handbook to life which is our bible; we just have to open it and use it.

Incorporate Moments of Silent Prayer: Taking moments throughout the day for silent prayer helps maintain a connection with God.

Speak Life Over Your Students (Use Affirmations): Using positive, life-affirming words and affirmations builds self-esteem and aligns thoughts with God's truth.

Speak Life Over Yourself (Using Scripture/Affirmations): It is key that as you speak life and pour into your students, you do the same for yourself. If you are filled up and encouraged, you have more to pour out, especially in challenging situations.

Model Positive Values: Demonstrating good character and modeling how to handle situations, which is displaying the Fruit of the Spirit in your interactions with students, helps to create a supportive classroom environment. Show patience when a student is struggling or demonstrate kindness through encouraging words.

Hey Transformational Teacher

Take time to reflect, let go and allow God to guide you so you can recharge, reset and return to finish the school year with renewed endurance and strength from God.

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne.

Philippians 2:13 For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.

How Christian Teachers Can Rejuvenate After a Long School Day

Hey Transformational Teacher: What do you do after a long day inside the classroom to rejuvenate yourself?

Here are a few things I do:

1. Have a moment of silence to myself.

2. I love to listen to music. I even play instrumental worship songs throughout the day at times.

3. At times I go to the gym and read, listen to audio book, music, podcast while on the exercise machines

4. I enjoy watching something funny. (Laughter is good for the soul.)

5. I make sure that I take time show gratitude to God daily for Him helping me make it through the day.

6. Spending time with God by myself right when I get home which has been awesome. (Some days I have to push past the tiredness and frustration. When I do push through in the end I am so thankful and feel better.)

7. Taking a little time to relax before moving to the next thing I need to do.

Set aside time daily to pray for yourself, your classroom, and any students God places on your heart.
Pray over and anoint your students’ chairs and desks as often as you can.
Find scripture promises to pray specifically over your teaching journey and students’ lives.

Why Christian Teachers Need a God-Centered Classroom Vision

Hey Transformational Teacher,

Happy New Year! May this year be the time when you surrender your classroom to God and allow Him to have His way in you and your students.

In this episode, I talk about the importance of having a vision for your classroom, yourself as a teacher, and each of your individual students. Writing your vision down helps you stay focused on your goals, regardless of any obstacles or setbacks you might encounter.

Here are some action steps for this week:

Pray and ask God what His overall vision is for your classroom, your students, and yourself as a teacher.
Listen attentively for His response and write down any insights you receive.
Review your notes and write out your vision.
Keep your vision in a place where you can easily access it.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 AMP Then the LORD answered me and said, “Write the vision And engrave it plainly on [clay] tablets So that the one who reads it will run. “For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail. Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it, Because it will certainly come; it will not delay.

Heart to Heart: Christian Teacher Encouragement for Challenging Days

Hey Transformational Teacher,

Is this school year feeling heavier than you expected? If your classroom has felt challenging lately, this episode is a heart-to-heart reminder to refocus, find peace, and remember God’s faithfulness in your teaching journey.

In this episode, you’ll be reminded:

God is Still Faithful- He is right there with you in every challenge, ready to help you carry today’s burdens.
Stay Connected to the Vine- Keep your connection with Jesus strong each day through prayer and the Word. "Apart from Him you can do nothing.” – John 15:5
Let Challenges Build Your Capacity- Allow the difficult moments to grow you into a stronger, wiser teacher and Kingdom leader.
Seek God’s Perspective- Ask Him to show you the good in each day and to see your students and classroom through His eyes.
Walk in humility and receive support- Allow God-ordained colleagues and friends to help and support you this school year.
Remember This Truth- Experiencing challenging days in the classroom doesn’t make you a bad teacher. It simply means you’re navigating hard moments—and God is with you through them all.

Reflection Question: What is God teaching you through the challenges you’re facing in your classroom right now?

Christian Teacher Morning Routine: 6 Things to Do Before Your School Day

Are you looking for practical and spiritual ways to start your school day with peace, purpose, and confidence? In today’s episode, I share 6 powerful things Christian teachers can do each morning to invite God into their day and set the tone for their classroom.

In this episode, you’ll learn how to:

Put on the Armor of God – Cover yourself in spiritual protection before stepping into your classroom. Ephesians 6:10-18
Meditate on God’s Word - Start your morning grounded in His promises. – Joshua 1:8
Pray for yourself, your students, their families, and coworkers – Intercede over the people you encounter each day. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Have time set aside for praise and worship –Shift the atmosphere with gratitude and praise. Psalm 100:4, Psalm 8:1-3
Anoint yourself and your classroom areas – Invite God’s presence into every part of your teaching environment. Mark 6:12-13
Ask God for daily natural and spiritual steps – Seek His guidance for your lesson plans, interactions, and leadership. James 1:5, Psalm 32:8

Why This Matters: As Christian teachers, we set the tone for our classrooms. When we fill our spiritual tanks each morning, we’re empowered to pour God’s peace, love, and wisdom into our students daily.

Action Step This Week: Find a few scripture promises to stand on and pray throughout your school year. Once you choose them, begin praying those scriptures weekly over your classroom.

There is power in reading, writing and praying God’s word daily.

In this episode I share 8 reasons you should do this daily.

1. It is one way to strengthen your faith in God and strengthen your spirit man.

2. It gives you a greater understanding of God's word.

3. God’s word corrects you and shows you areas in your life that you need to correct.

4. God responds to His word and fulfills His word.

5. It gives you peace, joy, and hope during the different seasons of life you go through.

6. It helps you to focus on the truth of God's word instead of what you see with your natural eye.

7. As you write God’s word it helps you to slow down and focus on what the scripture is saying.

8. Reading, writing and praying scripture helps you to memorize and focus on the scripture which will help to renew your mind and get the word of God rooted in your heart.

Action Steps:

Read God’s word daily
Spend time listening to God and write what He has to say to you

End of School Year Reflection: Encouragement for Christian Teachers

Hey Transformational Teachers congratulations!! You have made it to the end of another school year and I celebrate the impact you have made in the lives of each student that sat in your classroom. If you happen to still be in school during this time I am continuing to cheer you on and I am praying for you. Continue to show gratitude to God
Reflect and write down how the year went.
Repent and ask forgiveness from God
Ask, God what you need to do this summer
Continue to pray for the students you had in your class and pray for the incoming students

I want to remind you that you are a champion you may say, but I don’t feel like one. This school year has been challenging. I’ve had personal challenges take place in my life and I feel like I’m not winning like I should be winning and I say to you every day may not be smooth sailing but there is one thing that always remains: God is faithful and you can still have victory.
