Thank you to all my faithful listeners I have decided to end Tied To Natures Yellowstone. I believe I have covered most the areas in Yellowstone and shared enough to give first time visitors and those visiting again sufficient information. You can find Tied To Nature on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook where I will continue to share insights on Yellowstone. I hope to become more active on Youtube and start sharing more videos there.

Black Sand Geyser Basin

Black Sand Geyser Basin is a small family friendly geyser basin. This is a great are to see a couple small geysers and some nice hot springs. You can make the trip here a little longer of you decide to take the hike from Old Faithful to Black Sand.

West Thumb is the most southern road side basin in Yellowstone and worth a look. West Thumb sits right along the banks of the Yellowstone river and is a nice stopping point on your way to or from Jackson. As well if you are traveling toward Fishing Bridge or Old Faithful.

Exploring Biscuit Basin

Biscuit Basin is one of the smaller basins in Yellowstone with some terrific features to visit. Sapphire Pool, Jewel Geyser, and West Geyser are three of the highlights. This short board walk is a great one to visit with the family.

Gardiner MT, was once the most significant entrance to Yellowstone National Park. That meant the first thermal feature to be seen by most guests entering the park was Mammoth Hot Springs. Although this area may not be as popular as Old Faithful, Mammoth is worth taking the drive to not only for the springs here but for the history of Fort Yellowstone.

Yet did you know it is only one of about 500 geysers in Yellowstone and 1 of about 150 geysers within a mile of the Old Faithful area. Old Faithful is a huge attraction but not the only geyser worth visiting while in this area.

Yellowstone’s June Update

Wow what a hot month in Yellowstone, it was above are average temps for the month. Bears and wolves were still active until the end. Steamboat did not erupt this month but Old Faithful continues to be faithful.

In this one area you find all four of the major thermal features in Yellowstone. Geysers, hot springs, mud pots, and fumaroles can all be seen here.
