Starting off with last week, the Gunn Cheer team won their regional championship at the JAMZ competition in Stockton on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, the Girls Varsity Volleyball team defeated Piedmont Hills High in four sets with scores of 25-10, 25-21, 22-25, and 25-18.

On Thursday, Girls Varsity Water Polo fell to Castilleja High 10-6 and Boys Varsity Water Polo fell to the Palo Alto Vikings 14-13.

And on Friday, Frosh/Soph and Varsity Football defeated Fremont with respective scores of 42-27 and 50-20.

Coming up this week, our Girls Varsity Tennis team will compete in the SCVAL Tournament on Wednesday.

Finally, our football teams will travel to Monta Vista High to take on the Matadors with Frosh/Soph at 4:30 and Varsity at 7.

Winters sports start at the beginning of November. All athletes must register. Check the daily bulletin for times and dates for the different sports.

The American Mathematics Competition has been moved to November this year! It will take place after school on November 10th. More information about sign ups will come soon.

On November 1, basketball begins. Girls basketball, all levels, meet in the Titan gym at 4 pm. Varsity boys meet in the Bow gym at 4 pm and Frosh/Soph meet in the bow gym at 6:30pm

November 1, boys and girls wrestling starts. Athletes will meet in the wrestling room at 4 pm.

On November 8, soccer starts! Girls soccer meets in the titan stadium at 6 pm, and boys soccer meets in the stadium at 8:30 pm.

Winter sports are starting in the beginning of December. All athletes must be registered at AthleticClearance.com, and upload a current physical.

The annual AMC competition, or American Mathematics Competition, has been moved to November.  More information about the competition and signing up on the daily bulletin. 

Do you want to study abroad this summer? Gunn High School is a CIEE Global Navigator High School and gets scholarship money to help students like you! 

Want to help plan the March career month at Gunn? Volunteers will earn community service hours, or work experience class credit for being a speaker, creating promotional material, or attending weekly meetings. Contact Ms. Kaci for more details. 

Senior Class Cap and Gown orders are due to Jostens by Nov. 19.

The Academic Center is offering tutors! Subjects such as Chem H, Algebra 1, Bio A, AP Physics, and more are requested. If you are interested in tutoring for any of these subjects, contact the academic center. 

Volunteers are needed for the October 30th, “Trunk or Treat” tradition at the Gunn parking lot from 3 - 6 PM hosted by YCS. Volunteer hours are anytime between 2-7 pm. Masks are required.

Starting off with last week, our Varsity Girls and Boys Water Polo teams defeated Paly with scores of 8-2 and 12-9, respectively.

Last Thursday, all four of our Water Polo teams defeated Homestead. And on Friday, the JV football team defeated Wilcox 27-20 and the Varsity team won their homecoming game 55-15.

Coming up at home this week, on Thursday our water polo teams face off against Mountain View with Girls Varsity at 4:30 and Boys Varsity at 6:45.

Girls Varsity Tennis will also take on Mountain View on Thursday on the Titan Tennis court at 3:30.

For our away games, Girls Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman Volleyball will travel to take on the Los Gatos Wildcats this Thursday.

Frosh/soph and Varsity football will travel to Cupertino High for their playoff qualifier.

• Parking permits for Seniors only are now available for purchase in the SAC. Permits are $100 each. Juniors with special circumstances who wish to purchase a permit can contact Mr. Argumedo for further information.
• This Thursday Gunn’s music students have their fall concert at 7:30 pm. Go and support your fellow classmates. Gunn students and music booster can attend for free while others are required to pay a $5 entrance fee. 
• Apply for Congresswoman Eshoo’s 18th Congressional District Student Advisory Board. The program will be virtual unless students are overwhelmingly comfortable with meeting in person. The application deadline is October 22nd at 5 pm. The Student Advisory Board is for high school students who are passionate about public service and interested in learning about the legislative process. Check the Daily Bulletin for more information.
• To close out our Titan New Brief, we wanted to let you know that this Wednesday is Unity Day. Here at TBN we want to spread awareness about community and the anti-bullying cause. Wear orange on Wednesday to show your support! Come out to the Senior Quad during lunch to watch performances by Mio, Matsunko, and the Gunn A Capella Club.

This week we have a couple home games, including Girls Volleyball on Wednesday. The JV game is at 5:30 and Varsity is at 7.

On Thursday, our Water polo team faces off against Homestead. Varsity games are at 3:30 for girls and 6:45 for boys.

And this Friday, we have two home football games. One is at 4:30, where frosh/soph will face off against Wilcox, but the main event is at 7pm, with Varsity football facing off against Lynbrook. Make sure to be there for the biggest football game of the season!

• The academic center is recruiting tutors that are free after school, on Wednesday, that can teach a little bit of everything at the freshman level. And another tutor that can teach Chem H on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please contact the academic center at D-2, near the library. Tutoring does count as volunteer hours.

• Our Varsity Football team, ranked first in their league, defeated Saratoga 49-0.
• The Girls Varsity and Freshman volleyball teams came up short against Los Gatos with scores of 3-1 and 2-1 respectively, but the Junior Varsity team came away with a win of 2-1.
• The Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity Water Polo teams defeated Los Altos with wins of 12-8 and 11-9. The Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity Water Polo teams also beat Los Altos with respective scores of 16-6 and 10-1.
• On Thursday, our Girls Varsity Water Polo fell to Castilleja 9-7, but clinched a 12-11 victory against Menlo-Atherton the following day.  The Junior Varsity team came up with wins both days with scores of 14-5 and 14-7.
• For our home games this week, on Thursday all four of our water polo teams will take on Los Gatos with Girls Varsity starting at 3:30 and Boys Varsity starting at 6:45.
• On Friday, the Freshman Volleyball team will play The King's Academy at 4 before Junior Varsity and Varsity take on Los Altos.  
• Our away games this week, Girls Varsity Golf travels to Los Gatos on Wednesday and Monta Vista on Thursday. On Friday, our Junior Varsity Football team will take on Los Altos at 4:30. Our Varsity team, ranked 1st in the league, will take on Los Altos, ranked second.

• This week during PRIME will be the first Job Fair of this school year, so make sure to tune in on Zoom to get access to internships and meet local recruiters!
