In Matthew 6, Jesus asks a deeper question: Where is your treasure? Because what we chase doesn’t just shape our future—it shapes our hearts, how we see the world, and ultimately who we serve.

This talk is an invitation to step back and ask what you’re really building your life around—and to see that the greatest treasure we could ever have isn’t something we gain, but someone we know.

College will hand you a thousand “good life” scripts—serve yourself, chase the high, keep it easy. Jesus offers something totally different: a life where trust shows up as obedience… and it actually leads somewhere. If following Jesus has ever felt costly, lonely, or “not worth it,” this talk is for you.

Through Acts 9, we see that God is still doing this today. He is still interrupting stories, opening eyes, rescuing, and saving—often in the people we would least expect. And before this becomes a message about “them,” it becomes a reminder about us: we were once Saul too, rescued by grace alone.

God isn’t finished. Not with you. Not with the people you’ve given up on. Not with His church.

God isn’t looking for the most impressive people; He’s looking for faithful ones. The story of Philip reminds us that ordinary faithfulness can lead to extraordinary impact when we trust the God who sends us.

When you know the end of the story — that Jesus has already won — you can face whatever happens in the middle.

Through stories from Veritas and the book of Acts, we’re reminded that following Jesus means embracing the mess, leaning into differences, and learning to love one another in the middle of it all. Because the church isn’t meant to be perfect—it’s meant to be alive.

Through their story, we see that true joy and satisfaction don’t come from gaining more approval but from giving our lives away for Christ. The good life isn’t found in being liked—it’s found in living for the One who already loves and approves of us completely.

God doesn’t want our perfection; He wants our honesty. The gospel invites us to drop the act and live in the freedom of being fully known and fully loved.

Jesus doesn’t simply offer advice or religion; He offers Himself, the only One who can bring true belonging, freedom, and life.

Through Acts 3 and John 5, we see how Jesus meets us in our lowest places, not to simply fill our cup, but to transform our lives completely. He doesn’t always give us what we expect—He gives us something better.

In our last Tuesday Night of the summer, we explore what it means to abide in Jesus — to stay rooted in the true vine so we can grow, thrive, and bear lasting fruit. Drawing from John 15, personal stories, and practical wisdom, Michael challenges us to evaluate the habits, mindsets, and relationships in our lives that may be draining us rather than helping us grow.
