Genesis 7 is the account of the Flood and through that account there are amazing testimonies that point towards Christ's sacrifice and grace upon those who call upon His name and a look to the future judgement that is coming upon the world. Through this account we see Noah being an example to this generation as to how we are to be ready and watching for the day of Christ and proclaiming the gospel all the while!

This week join Jacob as he heads into Job 2 and talks about Job's testing 2.0. In chapter 2 we read about Job's continuing persecution from the "accuser" and Job's integrity to maintain his faith in God through immense suffering and pressure to curse the goodness of God.

Through this state of brokenness in Job's life we see how God is profoundly able to bring glory to Himself through weak things putting to shame the things that are strong. It is an encouragement to think about how God used Job for His glory and how we should be prepared in our soul when we are given the gift to glorify God in our times of brokenness and weakness.

But have cheer and courage for this is the attitude we are to have when entering into prayer with Jesus! As Christians the writer of Hebrews tells us that there is a unique and powerful mindset we are to have when entering...BOLDNESS! Jacob discusses some of his thoughts and excitement of the truth found in Hebrews 4:16 that we have complete and total access to the Throne of God 24/7 and He wants to hear us speak to Him with "cheerful courage."

The much awaited and long delayed episode 52 kicks off a new season for WVR! Join the restart with Jacob this week as he wades through the last 7 months since the last episode and all the life that has transpired. There have been several monumental life-changes in Jacob's life over the last several months which have challenged his spiritual walk and heat-treated his faith.

Through it all Jesus has both tremendously blessed, convicted and challenged, rebuked and restored Jacob. In this episode, hear some of Jacob's heart on what the Lord has been leading Him through in the last 7 months and how he has had to grow spiritually to adapt to the new life he has been commissioned in by Jesus. Jacob dives into Psalm 32 to find an example of how God has been working in his life and how the theme applies to the Christian life.

In all things God is faithful and Jesus has proven Himself to be the master-architect of impossible things!

51~The Preparations of a Bride and Groom: Jesus is Preparing and Coming!

Jacob and Laura ( Jacob's bride-to-be) are getting married this Saturday, December 17th and they have both been able to experience something close to the unique pattern God has set biblically for preparing for marriage as a bride and groom. Jesus has gone and is preparing a place for us, His bride the Church, and as He has wonderfully said, "is coming soon" to bring us to Himself! May we be looking expectantly to His return as He longs to be fully united with us in Heaven!

For Jacob sometimes hunting can go from a great blessing one moment to a anxious and frustrating experience in the next moment that can lead to a battle for abiding in a Christ-like attitude. A Christian's life is often times similar to a hunter's emotional rollercoaster. How can we remain Christ centered and full of peace and thanksgiving in any circumstance? Paul recognized he was going to be poured out as "a drink offering" for the glory of Christ. We might not be called to be poured out for Jesus exactly the same way Paul was but are we ready to be fully poured out when Jesus calls us too?

There is a fulfilling that happens in our hearts, souls, and minds when we as vessels needing to be filled are in relationship with a God who is full and fills. An incredible reality is present in the Holy Spirit filled Christian that he or she is no longer lacking anything and is gushing the life of the Person of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world! Let us be "Full-filled" by Jesus!

39~Enlisted: The War Vessel pt. 2

Join Jacob this week for a journey into chapter 2 of 2 Timothy and the profound things it reveals on the nature of a "war vessel". In this episode Jacob starts off by exploring the concept of being enlisted by Christ and the mindsets we are to have as soldier in Christ.

In 2 Timothy chapter 2 Paul exhorts Timothy to be "a good soldier of Jesus Christ" and then goes on to explain the conduct of a soldier engaged in warfare. That soldier is set-apart for battle and is to have no other focuses other than to serve the one who enlisted him. As Christians this should be our mindset on serving Jesus on the battlefield of our lives. Our all for His glory!

Hello everyone! This episode is a bonus message that I am uploading for my church but also for you all as well. The reason for this interesting upload is because I came down with some COVIDish symptoms but I was also designated to preach this Sunday. So to come up with a compromise I thought I could record it from home and still be able to deliver my message Sunday morning just in podcast format. Jesus came up with a solution to a dilemma!

This particular passage of Romans 8 was a delight to study and is so truly powerful for us as believers to claim! Paul lays out several questions to persuade his readers of the unimaginable relationship they have in the love of Christ. And he himself is persuaded of Christ's love and provides an amazing proof statement to answer his former questions. Hope this message is an encouragement and strengthening to your walk in Christ!

35~A New Thing: Living Intentionally for Jesus Moment by Moment

Examples of standing on the truth of God with boldness are all over Scripture but they are especially prominent in the book of Acts. The early chapters of Acts are stuffed full of standing steadfast in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and not budging from confessing His name. This week Jacob dives into some thoughts on these testimonies of boldness in Acts and also the importance of having one accord with the Spirit as an individual and as the Body of Christ.

Paul instructs and exhorts Timothy in his second letter to "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season." Deeper than Paul to Timothy this is a call of Jesus to those He loves and brought to Himself to be prepared with the truth of Himself and be ready in any circumstance to share the Gospel. Are we heeding the call of Christ in our hearts that is growing more fervent with each day to proclaim Him as the Day draws nearer?

It is in the weakness and disbelief in our own strength that Jesus has the greatest ability to work through us if we choose to be obedient and trust Him!

24~Mirror Christianity: Creature of Heaven or Hell? Inspiration from "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis

Would a reflection of our daily life portray us as being a creature of Heaven or a creature of Hell? Do our desires and tastes correspond with the things of Heaven or things more comparable to Hell? Is our heart in a consistent posture of surrender and obedience to Jesus or is it ruled by a prideful rebellion bent towards the flesh?

These are questions and comparisons that arose as Jacob has been reading through Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. Join Jacob this week as he discusses somethings that stood out to him from Lewis's writings and how they have freshly exhorted Jacob to continue in desiring the things of Jesus and dive deeper into His Spirit!

Revelation is an amazing book of Scripture that describes many great and terrible things to come. The focus of the book, however, is on one particular great and terrible (terrible in the sense of awesome power and glory) person yet to come...Jesus Christ!

Revelation has incredible descriptions and praises of who the God we serve is and His magnificence that will be revealed to all peoples and nations. As Christians we have the ability to live in daily communion with this beyond comparable Savior Jesus Christ! Does our life reflect the reality of this God who not only lives in us but is one day coming in the fullness of His splendor and glory?

Jesus is the source of righteousness and He is the source of salvation! Our only hope is in the One who alone is righteous and holy! He is worthy of our whole heart's focus, meditation, and adoration!

11~Jacob's Testimony: All I Have Is Christ

Hey fellow War Vessels! Jacob here. I though it was important that I share a testimony of my life and how Jesus has been working in me for the last 21 years. My heart for WVR is that it would accurately portray the heart of Christ and His love through conversation and I strongly believe that part of that is not being afraid to share and be open about life and its ups and downs. In our weaknesses Christ is strong and He is glorified in the sharing of our testimonies as believers!

In this episode my desire is that it opens some of my life to you all and in the Spirit of Jesus creates a place where there is no shame or condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! This episode does contain some blunt and open conversation of sexual bondage that was in my life (nothing detailed or extensive). With that being said, I believe it is edifying and encouraging as I kept it vague and in general with a mixed audience in mind. This was something that couldn't be ignored or skipped over as it is truly where the Lord has grown me and transformed me the most in my walk with Him!

I hope you all enjoy the heart and spirit of this episode and feel encouraged to press further into Christ and pursue a relationship with Him. In Christ we have been given victory and we can triumph in that truth and revelation!

I want to take a moment to honor and thank my parents who raised me to pursue and love Jesus, His Word, and all things perfect and right. I love and admire both of you and I am so thankful for everything you both have sacrificed, taught, blessed, and given me as I have grown-up. I love you Mom & Dad!

Also, thank you to my siblings for being the greatest little brothers and sisters an older brother can possibly imagine! I love to see how Jesus is leading each of you and growing you uniquely for His purposes!
