After returning home, Thomas continued protecting his community in law enforcement, rising to become Chief of Police and earning the Medal of Valor for heroism in a life-threatening gunfight.

Today, he’s being honored as part of the 2026 Purple Heart Patriot Project, representing the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of America’s combat wounded.
