Growing up, I was deeply involved in church, but as I got older, I found myself feeling more disconnected and distant – and I had more trouble “fitting it in,” so to say. Despite setting yearly goals to strengthen my relationship with God, I felt like I was falling short each time.

Fast forward to the past year or so, I hit a point where everything felt challenging—business, relationships, health...Feeling tested and somewhat lost, I realized it was an opportunity to turn to God. We tend to focus so much on growth and strategy, but I've come to realize that true success starts with healing, not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. It's like building a strong foundation for your business and your life, which neglecting can lead to burnout and stress down the road. Holistic healing, nurturing your mind, body, and soul, is crucial, and it's a continuous journey.

I share my own journey and six key steps that helped me start my healing process. Reading insightful books, joining supportive communities, and reconnecting with God were pivotal; therapy took a deeper turn, touching on spirituality, and acupuncture provided tailored support. Through this healing journey, my business is directly related. I’ve learned to grapple with burnout, have found excitement in places I had lost it, and have achieved growth that I once didn’t think was possible without sacrificing my well-being. Thriving businesses are a result of thriving individuals who prioritize self-care and balance in their lives.

If you enjoyed this episode, please share it on your socials and tag me at @balanced.entrepreneur.

I'm looking forward to joining you for the next episode!

Be well.

---

Books mentioned in this episode:

"How to Do the Work" by Dr. Nicole LePera (also referred to as "the holistic psychologist").

"Not Nice" by Dr. Aziz Gazipura.

"Women Who Move Mountains" by Sue Detweiler.

"The Art of Seduction" by Robert Greene.

---

Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):

https://uppbeat.io/t/kidcut/flamingo

License code: YONTQBW8GZU58EKB

In this episode, I want to shed light on a topic often overlooked in business discussions: healing.

License code: YONTQBW8GZU58EKB

https://well-off.captivate.fm/episode/ep-3-the-key-to-thriving-in-business-and-in-life

<itunes:image href="https://artwork.captivate.fm/cc629b34-17e3-4fde-8ef1-895ce9e44746/OEv8VwqvvWvTi9scTVPz6NE5.png"/>
Phylisha J

<itunes:duration>15:53</itunes:duration><itunes:explicit>false</itunes:explicit><itunes:episodeType>full</itunes:episodeType><itunes:season>2</itunes:season><itunes:episode>3</itunes:episode><itunes:season>2</itunes:season><podcast:episode>3</podcast:episode><podcast:season>2</podcast:season><itunes:author>Phylisha J</itunes:author>

Ep. 2 | Mastering the Art of Staying Accountable
<itunes:title>Ep. 2 | Mastering the Art of Staying Accountable</itunes:title>

In this episode, we dive deep into the topic of accountability and how it can help you reach your goals; I share personal experiences and strategies for staying on track with goals, especially as it relates to consistency and discipline.

There are countless strategies to stay accountable to your goals. A calm space for ambitious business owners who want more peace, less stress, and more success.

I’m your host, Phylisha J. I am a wife and dog mom of two, running an almost seven-figure preschool business and an online wellness community for business owners called the Balanced Entrepreneur.

I've had the idea to start a podcast for a while now…but I didn't quite know where to start. After talking it through with my circle, I realized that I often share the what and the how of balancing business and life, but not necessarily the why, or at least not my why.

I have learned so much on my journey and am still learning so much. Before I go into depth there, it's important for me to go back to the beginning to take you through my journey with me.

This is the first of six episodes, where I’ll break down my story into different segments - so that it's easier to digest and so that you can get to know me better. So…I'm going to take it way back to the beginning and offer advice to my younger self: when I noticed that I even had any clue that I wanted to be an entrepreneur.

Thank you for joining me today.

To stay up to date, follow me on Instagram @balanced.entrepreneur. And, if you enjoyed today’s episode, please share to your socials and tag me!

---

Intro and Outro music: Crossed Path - by Kjartan Abel.

Visit https://kjartan-abel.com/library to find free music for your next project.

This work is licensed under the following: CC BY-SA 4.0 Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International.

Welcome to the Business and Balance shortcast.
