It's a new year and we have new Live Action Star Wars!!!! Colleen and Anders are back to review and dissect the premiere of Disney Plus' The Book of Boba Fett, titled Chapter 1: Stranger in a Strange Land.

We review the episode, go through the myriad of Easter Eggs and Connections to established Star Wars canon (and beyond), then try to answer our questions we had coming out of the episode. We close with our predictions and desires for the rest of the season!

We marvel at the ridiculousness of the plot, cringe at some jokes that have NOT aged well, and take an introspective look at what it means to be a “fan”. Anders has never seen a real life Star Wars vs Star Trek fight and Colleen (lovingly) schools Daniel for calling TNG “The Patrick Stewart one.” We take a 2021 critical view on this 2007/2009 representation of fandom in 1999, including how women and LGBTQ fans fit into the mix (spoiler: they do, if you don’t like it, too bad. Luke Skywalker would have hated you). Wherever you fall on the SW Fandom spectrum, we enjoy the fact that these stories can bring people together and that fandoms can help you find your place, just like we did.

Daniel is a little salty that the Wookies were replaced by Ewoks but Anders is desperate for the Ewok films to come out on Disney+. While we all tend to agree this is the weakest film in the original trilogy, we still love it and are interested in how Emperor Palpatine gives us our first real insights into the Dark Side of the Force. To end, as always, we give our recommendations for content you will enjoy if you like Jedi as much as we do.
