Sriram</p><p>R. Sriram began to learn yoga systematically with Sri TKV Desikachar in the late seventies. He received private lessons and group lessons from him, and attended group lessons with Sri T. Krishnamacharya. Under the guidance of Sri TKV Desikachar he taught Yoga for several years at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai and contributed to the development of the then young institute. Since 1988, Sriram has been active in Germany, the home of his wife, where he has built a large community of yoga teachers trained in giving individualized lessons, published several books relating Yoga to diverse subjects like therapy, sound, breath, mantra and emotions, as well as a German translation of the Patanjali’s Yogasutra, which is being widely used by the german-speaking yoga community in Europe. Together with Desikachar he has brought out CDs on Vedic Chanting. Together with his wife Anjali Angelika, Bharatanatyam dancer and novelist, he has worked on and developed the subject of Natyayoga and published the book “Natyayoga”.
